  1. Still 2013 in Texas, but half the country is in 2014. I am headed to bed and intend to sleep until next year. This being Texas, it sound like the Yankee army is approaching again outside with heavy bombardment, lots of small arms fire, and rockets. I am sure they'll be as kind as last time... Anyway, thanks to all my Klipsch Klan friends for a great year, and another to follow. Love you all! Dave

  2. Looking for opinions on what center channel best matches my kg 4.2's. FYI my family and I watch a lot of movies and when the wife and kids are gone I listen to everything from rap, rock n roll, to hippie music from the 70's

  3. I'll start off by saying Happy New Year and I hope everybody had a great holiday! Now my issue, I've been on vacation for 2 weeks and been playing with my AVR. Issue is no matter what I do audyssey sets my sub to -12, my settings on the sub is power at 50% and I've tried the gain at 50, 75, and 100 (dial wise) and it still sets it to -12? Anybody have any ideas?

  4. Looking for input regarding Cornwall speakers. I have and still enjoy my first and only set of Klipsch speakers, 1992 forte II which I purchased new back in the day. At the time I could not afford a better "New" set of Klipsch speakers. I have always wondered about the original Cornwall, love the look of a set with cane grill covers! My question is this: When reviewing the 2 speakers on paper, performance seems near identical. The forte II actually digs a little deeper as well. Can anyone describe the difference in sound between the two? I am thinking that the Cornwall will be a little more layed back with the exponential mid? Perhaps more placement choices as well with no passive radiator in the rear? Thanks in advance for any input! Best regards, John

  6. id I with these. The others you posted are real thick and gonna be harder to run. Not that that is the end of the world all mine are really thick. But once they don't work anymore I'm getting the thin ones. Even the case is smaller on the red mere. That will put less stress on your hdmi inputs.

  8. the best looking Klipsch speaker ever made ( Heritage or not ) would be the Belle. not even up for discussion. end of story i have never heard the forte but i would take a cornwall over a forte everyday of the week. to me a forte is a heresy in a bigger cabinet. i'm sure the forte 2's you have rock

  9. i have never heard the fortes, but looking at them both i would think the cornwall would be much easier to place. plus i think they are the best looking heritage speaker klipsch ever made. i love mine.

  10. The bass may be way out of balanced in that system, even for a basshead. It is a good Ideal to never increase the gain by more than 6 db. Stuff under 30 Hz takes a lot of energy. Increasing the under 30 Hz stuff by 6 db decreases headroom by 50%. Stand back, something is going to blow!

  11. Yea, turn the gain down. When the sub is in the -12 range, I wonder if is even calibrated correctly and that was the best that the autocalibration could do.
    1 point
  12. have you tried the sub at lower than 50 percent? 50 might still be too high on the gain for the calibration to set it properly. my buddy has the old bash version pb-13 ultra and that gain in so sensitive its only at like 20%. you want it to be in calibration.

  15. i also think the red mere ones from mono price loo interesting. i have bunch already so need to buy new ones but when i do i will be trying the red mere ones for their size. i hate the big bulky ones i have that don't like to make tight turns

  16. A wise $5.00 spent. No reason to spend even $10.00 for a 12 footer or $15.00 for a 20 footer. I only have a couple of Monoprice cables in which I am pretty sure they were given to me. Are there better constructed cables for not much more $$$, yes but no reason to spend more for a subwoofer cable. Bill

  17. Here is what I used. This is for in wall. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0052YE94M/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1 If you are not going to put in wall i'd use this. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Cerrowire-500-ft-10-2-Landscape-Wire-Black-241-1802J/202206452 Edit: Wire for sub duh. Just use the RCA cables.

  18. Welcome to the Klipsch Forums & Happy New Year! Another KG 4.2 would be ideal; seems they did make a KG 2.2v designed to be a Center; but, I'd look for a pair of KG 5.2 to use as mains & use one of your 4.2s as Center.

  19. your sub gain is too hot, turn it down and rerun calibration. Make sure the sub level is around +/- 3db not -12. You should turn on Dynamic Eq but leave dynamic volume off.

  27. One of my favorites is Fitzgerald/Amstrong together on the standard "Autumn in New York". My god Ellas voice sends shivers up my spine. A great stop in New York is the Louis Armstrong Museum. Check out his stereo.

  29. all great! Love the Ken Burns Jazz series a must for any Louis A fan. That is one nice Ella & Louis, great record! Thanks Lemon String, it sounds fantastic. I've done side by side comparisons with the 2000 (I think) CD and even know I enjoy the CD for the convenience factor, it lacks the Warmth, Body, Depth, Dynamics of the Lp. I recommend the series "Ken Burns Jazz" for anyone who is into or looking to get into Jazz. Lots of great information and it really helped me "put it all together". If anyone is an Amazon Prime member, you can watch it for free! .......... Dennie

  30. Yes Sir, "The Great Summit" is a fantastic recording and a favorite of mine also! I didn't list it because Sancho was asking for "Satchmo" music and I didn't want it to get confusing. "Summit" is fantastic "Ellington" music and should not be missed. But for a place to start, I choose the other disc's for a beginner. When he asks for more, "we'll" make sure "Summit" is on that list! Dennie

  33. Ella and Louis...and Oscar Peterson...I bet that album is awesome. I have a Ella Fitzgerald "Mac the Knife" live in Berlin LP, and she does "How High the Moon" with some serious be-bop...it's great...

  35. I have the AVR-300 and the RF-82 II. It drives these speakers perfectly, and I am very pleased with the setup. I use it for both 2 channel music and 5.1 HT. Greg

  36. Spend a little extra on this one http://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/DENAVRX1000/DENON-AVR-X1000-5.1-Channel-Networking-Receiver-w/AirPlay/1.html Audussey xt is much superior than regular audussey. Or maybe you could call a couple online denon dealers and see if you can get the denon 1713 that I use. Same as the x1000 minus 4K (whoopee).

  37. I run my system off of 45 watts/channel and it will blow me out of the room. The e300 should be plenty unless you like to listen beyond reference volume. My room is about the same size- 13x14x9.
