Mornin' folks and Happy Friday. Looks like I missed a bunch of stuff yesterday. Dave, sorry about your Dad. I lost mine as a kid and it's tough at any age. Wish him a joyous journey and be grateful for all the time you had. Still cold in Denver metro with snow on the ground. I'm sure the ski resorts are doing their "happy dance." Can't wait to pick up our new rescue Springer on Sunday!! We're getting ready with new beds, bowls, crate and all that. Stay warm everyone.5 points

It did! I was the kid who always had to touch things and had to see what would happen if I put my hand over the nozzle. Of course the ball fell and rolled down the aisle. My mother had to get a clerk to put it back up. I naturally got tore up at the appropriate time when no one was around.4 points

Mine too but I have to finish the spare bathroom first which is about 85% done. Maybe over Thanksgiving i will relate to my "new" digs we have been in for the last five years. My tails of living in a "Flipper" prepared house will amuse everyone.3 points

Good Afternoon gang Just workin on the second cup of Major Diciknsons Blend and waking up. There is NO such thing as "Overslept" or "Sleeping in" when Retired. Workin in the Cave into the Wee hours, neglected projects and such. One such task i MUST take on is thinning the tool collection, i just realized i have three of everything. I either get another rollaway, or keep just the new chit. I see most everyone is getting a taste of winter, time to prepare if not done already.3 points

On the other hand, they used to look pretty cool at the entry of Sear's stores with the motor reversed blowing a beach ball into the air. Now that should take you back.3 points

Down to 21 last night. I gave in and turned on the heat. Yep 27 here last night, lit the heater for the first time this winter, they say 29 tonight so I guess I will have to repeat it, it's still burning now .3 points

I made full grilles for mine to keep the metal shavings and other dirt out. It was pretty simple. I used cheap speaker fabric and a staple gun. It's held on with velcro, but I thought about some neo magnets. The top has part of a dining room table mat on it.3 points

it's a big "F" ing bone :-)thanks for the"like" on that one. But that's my wifes. She reads all your guys posts. She is in the office on the shop computer and I am out in the bay on my scan-tool tablet. She came in the bay and said just that "if a bone is $100 then a $1000 is a big F ing bone" .......man I lmao.....so I had to drop it on you guys. She if funny. She still raggs me about this Klipsch forum.......and the kids too.......they all say" what do your Klipsch friends say"......then my youngest daughter found out that I spoke with a woman on here (Amy) there was h*ll to pay. I know I have only been around a few months.... but you guy are all I got.......H*LL I got more friends here than I do in life... lol lol Check in later gotta work :-) "She still raggs me about this Klipsch forum.......and the kids too.......they all say" what do your Klipsch friends say" Just tell the interested parties, Klipsch Speakers ARE, cheaper than kids. Wife see's me in the cave surfin or whatever on the Pc, and ask you on the Form? yes dear, they are way more reasonable than Pub friends. cost less too. Somehow i did something right a few years back, built her system FIRST, seems ever since then, i can do NO wrong or spend too much. she is quite happy with her system.3 points

Just tell them we said your lucky to have them around you all the time, well it's true, AND that you need more speakers. Well friends that are around all the time can get to be a pain in the butt, I got picked up yesterday to volunteer to help bring donated furniture to the VFW hall, turned out to be like 6 hours of moving office furniture. But it was a good cause, to help veterans, it was the least I could do. Your doing great3 points

Down to 21 last night. I gave in and turned on the heat. Our house is fairly well insulated and only got down to 64 but it would have been nice to take the chill off.2 points

Very Smart move but I don't blame her, it's a very nice classic setup, she has good taste.2 points

We use one wood burning heater and it's plenty enough, about 2 cords max with a bad winter. Good looking stove, Griswold, first class pot. I have a bunch but not that brand, have at least 6 cast iron skillets, there my favorite and easiest to clean, and you can use them for self defense !2 points

AKdave, glad your dad's fight is over and he can rest, glad you had time together, you did good.2 points

Vast majority are scope content. My son plays games in the HT which are mostly 16:9. I'm at the beginning stages of even contemplating switching to a 16:9 so I haven't calculated how that will effect screen size. I think I have enough fabric to stay the same width but it would increase the 16:9 to 158".1 point

I prefer to use 8.5mm with an MSD 7AL Box! But no, really, I have silver plated 10 gauge copper and there is absolutely no audible difference! They are selling snake oil! If I buy a cheap amp with cheap internal parts, do you think it would sound any better with gold plated terminal??? You need to look at a woofer voice coil and realize, really.....really??? How big a wire do I actually need to carry enough power to melt that thing??? Roger1 point

The 64 handles bass so well that Audessey on my system tried to cross it over at 40 hz. You're not losing any meat. Again, your opinion......you know what they say about those...1 point

Just today, I even considered changing from a 2.35:1 CIH setup to a 16:9 and masking down for 2.35:1. This would allow me more flexibility with projectors, less costly projectors, and it would give me a larger 16:9 image.1 point

love our Sammy plasma! Of course it was easy to love since it replaced an 8k pound rear projector which belonged in a museum somewhere.1 point

Flame, Congratulations! Glad that you are finding a way, rather than making excuses. My son got his BA in Accounting from Maryville. Hey, we'll have to have a cup of coffee or something when you get here!1 point

So sorry to hear of your situation Joe. I would also like to state for the record that I have bought from Joe and he'll give you exactly what he's described. If you're new to the forum, buy with no worries.1 point

Joe, I don't know you, but if you need someone to help with the home situation, I may be able to steer you to someone who can. There are special laws in place for people in your situation, and you may be able to do a loan modification or something along the lines of that. Worst case if you do wind up losing the home, there is a way to do it and have the bank pay you. If you are interested in more info let me know. I am a real estate broker in NJ and laws are similar in certain states, so there may be a few options for you.Good Luck with things.1 point

I fall into a crack, I am occupationally disabled not fully disabled, however my meds keep me from driving or operating machinery etc... I was working for the railroad and they do not use workers comp, they use railroad retirement since I had under 10 years I only qualified for 12 months of sickness / injury compensation. The law states in order to recover from the railroad my lost wages etc... I must go to court Its a great system, meanwhile the company drags things out as long as they possibly can putting you into a situation where you have to settle...........Kids gotta eat and have a roof and heat END RANT..........................................1 point

They do and you can hear it. It's the side walls of the dog house that vibrate. You can hold your hands on them to dampen it and hear the difference.1 point
