  2. Met two old friends for breakfast....country ham, two over medium, cheese grits. Good conversation and food. Yesterday was strange and left me a little sad. Ex LF showed up to return my bicycle and we chatted for a short while. She was with another lady so it didn't last long.....but my she did look good. Felt like Al Pacino "just when I think I'm out you pull me back in". Even the two drinks later didn't help Humming Roy Orbison this morning "the sun went down on our love long ago". All the leaves I raked Sunday have now been replaced with fresh ones. Jake is having some stiffness in his joints. Got to get him something for it today. Loosing interest in my volunteer work at the library LF flies out of Pittsburg Thursday for England. That's all here...how about you guys? Cheers Gents

  4. As with any issues to weight bearing bones, the less weight they bear, the less discomfort they feel. My wife worked for a podiatrist for quite a long time. The people with the worst feet issues were the heaviest patients. It's the same with animals. A 5 lb loss can make a difference in the level of pain an animal experiences.

  6. Haven’t heard from Winchester in a long while. While going through the OldBuckster thread, saw a post by TommyBoy. He hasn’t been on the forum in about five years. Scary part is that he mentioned that his unit was being deployed (one of the military services…Army i think). He was a regular here, so it’s scary to wonder why he hasn’t posted again after five years. Sure hope he just got us out of his system while deployed and that he’s ok and living life. Steve Konopa is another one that has recently disappeared. He hadn’t logged into the forum nor answered PMs since January…then i noticed in his profile that he logged in one day in June; but, nothing since. Worries me that two guys can be so active then nothing.

  8. Hi all, Our web server is getting lots of traffic with the Cyber Monday push - therefore I've put the forums into what's called "performance mode" - which temporarily disabled some of the non-critical functions of the forum software. This is only temporary and will probably return back to normal in a few hours. Thanks for your patience!

Ask your Vet about something "over the counter" for Jake. iv had Kats for 20+ years, im no dog expert. Starting to rain dammit, must think of plan "B"

  11. Happy Tuesday, guys. Must have one of those addictive personalities... the day did not seem complete without checking in here a few times yesterday. Turkey hangover is gone and planning to get off the sofa today. 1 cup down and another poured.

  13. Oldbuckster didn't mix his words did he billybob. What a great guy as the length of that thread testifies. An honorable, working class, hero if there ever was one. He spoke his mind and we all loved that about him. An unmatched legacy here on the forum. To be sure! Turned me onto the KG4 here. He was right, nice indeed. California about to get some rain. Take care. Late coffee

  15. Mornin' everybody!! Had trouble connecting earlier. Had a laid back Sunday .... football, cooking with better half, played a few tunes, etc. Baxter has really settled in to his new digs and a really good personality has emerged as we hoped for. Still need to get pics to post. Think I'll avoid Del Taco for lunch. Something about it always looked dangerous. Good to see you all posting and upbeat. 2 cups down and gotta get ready for the day. Later....

He spoke his mind and we all loved that about him. An unmatched legacy here on the forum. With the lady friend away I finally decided to do the Spotify thing and had a great time putting together playlist for Jazz, blues, rock, easy listening, and country. About 60 songs for each list. Coffee done though a third cup sounds good. Jake sleeping following his walk.....probably still tired from the dog park trip yesterday. Suppose to be 70 degrees here today so something outdoors is in order. Good point Steve.....you never know what forum members have gone through or are dealing with. Speaking of that I wonder where Winchester is? Cheers Gents

  19. I know everything! Ah Sheepdip! Ordered a master window control for the Volvo. Seems they wear out on the driver's side mostly, although not sacred. Anyway, Amazon seems like the place for some things anymore. Maybe that explains the shoulder, or like I have done before, try to climb the headboard with my neck. Anyway, maybe I can bribe someone to reach that place on my back with some tiger balm. Stove up in N Florida Maybe go for a ride on cycle. Should fix it right up. Hope everyone is having a good time. I will be posting another Benny Hill. Laughter is healthy, and goes with cables.Coffee, not so much. Wish we had a cable icon/smiley. What would be the design best representative of cables.? One piece of cable, or alot of audio/video equipment.? Taking my medicine for the bite.

  21. It should be back. It was gone due to the forums being put into "performance mode". See this thread: https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/154001-attn-forum-performance/ Also, I should point out that the forum hasn't gone through any updates recently. The thread linked above explains.

  22. Dang, Jake is a big boy. I might need to try some too. "gouty arthritis"? Shoulder is stiff as a running board. Sometime a woman looks better going. No bluesbag now,Christmas is a coming. Guess it is from driving into work and back in 30-40 degree weather with the window down. Part on order, new and improved...

  24. For JAKE. My vet leans heavily towards homeopathic remedies and recommends these. He can have one a day. Google around and you can find them pretty cheap. I haven't used the business that I linked you to rather buy from amazon or e-bay.

  25. The sadness in this thread, both from those who knew OB well and those less so, reminds me od John Donne's poem: No man is an island, Entire of itself. Each is a piece of the continent, A part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less. As well as if a promontory were. As well as if a manor of thine own Or of thine friend's were. Each man's death diminishes me, For I am involved in mankind. Therefore, send not to know For whom the bell tolls, It tolls for thee. RIP.

  31. I had KG4s with torn surrounds on the 8" drivers. I took them to a speaker repair shop and after a month of serching they could not find a replacement surround material that would work.. They suggested getting replacement drivers on the bay, which is what I did.

  32. Where ever you are check to see if there is a quality pro re cone shop within driving distance. Call them and discuss. You may find that having two new surrounds will cost you more than you want to pay. Yes you should install matching surrounds. If it is all more than you think it is worth you can part out all your parts, crossovers woofers horns everything even the cabinet if you can find someone to take them. You can make more on just the parts than you could ever selling your speakers in full working condition and then with cash in hand you can start fresh. If you are set on sticking with the KG series try the KG 5.5 as life is best at the top of the food chain. If you want better than that then look for a set of CF3 or CF4 you won't be sorry as they both share the largest wide band horn in a Klipsch home loudspeaker. A pair of KLF20 or KLF30 could also rock your world but many have baffle adhesive issues to consider so be aware. If you want more than that then look to Altec and JBL for superior quality parts to get you there or to Klipsch Pro any of these three options can and will rock hard for you. Good luck and best regards Moray James.

  36. No border troubles. All 3 of us ended up going a little over the spending limit but the border agents didn't really care. Probably not worth the time to go through dozens of receipts to collect a couple dollars worth of taxes.

  37. Morning Gang It appears the Comcast network backbone is stressed already! Everyone looks to be out of their food coma. I need to take a Turkey inventory today, see just what exactly is left. They project some good rain later today, Duggans run is the chore for the day.

  45. Hear that. Got bit by a Brown Recluse several years ago. Didn’t realize it at the time of the bite; however, noticed a red line moving up my arm. Went to the doctor -- who confirmed the bite. Gave me a shot of antibiotic -- which turns out, I was allergic to. Interesting day that was. Got bit by something a few years ago…noticed blood poisoning line about 11 PM. Debated waiting till morning but decided to head to the ER. Doctor examined my arm and said, “see this (pointing to a ring around the wound…like a bullseye)…this is what we don’t want to see…I’m glad you came in." I’ve had two close calls with rattlesnakes; but, never been bit.

  48. Prayers especially for Barb and his family. They will be second guessing every decision they made about the treatment... I certainly miss his posts. If I had the money, I'd go to his funeral. There's no second guessing about treatment. Rob was a Viet Nam veteran and used the VA as his primary medical care. The VA did NOT cover his $2,500 a month meds for his "rare disease" associated with his brain issues. That was partially covered by the family's private insurance. Rob was a weekly regular like most vets to the VA when you start developing the common ailments associated with his service duty and exposures to certain items. There was less than a one month period between full scans that should have detected this. I'm not a doctor but I doubt it would have made much difference. Sadly, it happens. I've seen it a handfull of times the last few years. Some health concerns are NOT even discussed at the VA and even disputed simply because of lack of genuine testing and open results. It's a "head in the sand" issue that probably will go unacknowledged for another generation or so until the issues are actually documented and the commonalities are too great to ignore or "brush aside" Rob was adamant about his keeping his appointments, treatments, testing, and his meds went down like clockwork. It happens. I guess there's always second guessing, 20-20 hindsight etc, but in this case his standard VA treatments just missed it. It's the system he lived in and died in. It's all too common and has been going on for over 40 years and probably another 40 years before it changes. Hereditary weakness? who knows. Rob was an orphan and didn't know much about his real parents. He was raised by "good" parents he respected for taking him in. Rob worked hard for his family. A solid factory worker with values, ethics, honor code, and love of country. I don't know of anyone that loved his wife and kids anymore than he did. His words: "I'm a very lucky man to have a wife and family that loves me so much. I couldn't ask for better than what I've been given". He always counted his blessings and didn't complain even when given the word he would die fast and miserably. The only thing I heard from him was... "I've got too much to do still. I'm not ready to die" Many times he'd tell me how blown away he was about the Scott amp this forum helped him get. He was still amazed at the generosity from the Klipsch forum. It was tough on him not being able to sit at the PC and turn on the "OB" alter ego. Dammit, he loved this place and was his favorite escape once his health turned for the worse. He loved the Scott like it was the highest honor that could be bestowed on a man. Loved the CWs with it. You'll never know how appreciative he was over the Scott. He didn't know how to relay the "thanks to a bunch of strangers that turned out to be family" He was a tough old bird. He held on long enough for his family to be with him at the end. His kids and grandson finally got to the hospital to say their goodbyes. His best friend played "Wild Horses" for him and he was gone.
