  1. Sounds pretty cool there. Having an extended family in a way I suppose. You were a good influence by the sound of the way he turned out. Sorry if I say too much. No kids myself but, youth around keeps you young. Helps the older back some too. Nice remodel! Enjoy the rest.

  2. Morning guys....... Me and the wife just got in from the shop.......looking good......I had a few of the old shop helpers swing in and help me with the lifting. The wifes new desk in big and heavy and she got a long flat file. There is no way I could have done it alone. The shop helpers are just kids that I meet having the shop. They would help here and there, I would let them work on there cars. One of them worked with me for a few years on and off. He is super smart, I meet him when he was 14 he's 29 now. Got two kids and a wife. I am the god farther to his youngest son. We have been through a lot. He first rolled up to the shop with his broken go-kart.......wanted me to fix it....so I fixed it.....was a quick weld on the frame.....I gave him some work to do and he just kept coming back....he had no farther in his life.....so people have told me he thinks of me as farther figure......kinda cool......he's a good guy, he still has keys to my shop and keeps his tool box there. He runs a Mr Tire shop....this is a new thing for him. He's not turning wrenches any longer. Ok gonna get some sleep...... Check in later...... MKP :-)

  3. Wow, I don't log in since Friday and I'm about 3 pages back. Nice pictures everyone. Lot's of projects that I see are going on. I've been in the bathroom all weekend. No I'm not sick or hung over. We're doing a major remodel and I've got everything out but the sheet rock and studs. Yesterday I busted the tub out as my wife wants a walk in shower instead. Once I got it out I found that the original plumbers missed the wall when they roughed the water pipes in. That will work with a tub but not with a shower. I spent most of this morning busting concrete with a hammer and chisel. All I have left to do now is cut them and move them. That will be a project for next weekend. I'm pooped.

  6. Happy Memorial Day ya'll ! Not so much a holiday as a memory day, imo Not much traffic today so, the summer rush was not as rushed. Made near record time for me, without pushing it. Yes so, have relaxed more about the routes and, we'll see. Popped a top cause I can and am caught up now CECC. Guess we may get wet here then next. Not too chatty at times. Even though not a chatroom, I have gone off before as a chatty doll. The one with a string. Bet tnat would sell quick on the bay. Just guessin. Looking at my blow by blow album. Should play it Get them smokers smoking and the grills iron hot, if you care to. Oh, you have already well, enjoy your memories, if you have. I remember other times in the past, not always have to be war, thoughts. Started to delete but, you probly do not get snozzled one 1 lite miller, lol.

  8. That looks like a terrible job, I hate breaking out cement especially in a space like that, it's almost worse than being sick. But doing it yourself your saving enough money to fill up that old bathtub. Check out how much it cost to get a bathroom remodeled, I would sit first, it's going to be a shocking price. That dirt has not see light in a long time !

  9. They also kinked the line underground, I'll fix that too while I'm at it.

  10. A different bee/wasp problem, About a year ago I wanted to put a light on the old fan on the side porch, so being the cheap sucker I am I decided to make something to cover the light and make it shine only on the cement table underneath. So I made a cover from bamboo, it looks a little weird but directs the light just to the table like I hoped. The problem is now that's it's warming up the wasp are building nest inside the ends of the bamboo. Ok that's not that bad, but now worm looking things are on the table right under the light everyday, I never knew they did this, don't know if it's something there eating or building a nest with? So I guess I need to cover the holes with silicone like suggested. It's been going on for weeks, I clean it and there back the next day, is this wasp food there dropping ?

  13. I wish to pick out, from the friends and others I knew who did not return from various wars, Staff Sergeant Barry Graf. Barry and I went to school together at North Heights Elementary, North Heights Junior High, and Arkansas High School in Texarkana and graduate in 1967. Barry was from a poor family of 5 children. I never knew what happened to the father, but his mother, Mary, struggled to take care of the kids as best she could. She took them to Hickory Street Baptist Church regularly dressed in the best she could muster. None of the children were top achievers in school and they largely remained on the periphery of school society. I knew Barry and his twin sister Karen best, as they were my age. Both were very nice and I spent more time with them in Sunday School so got to know them pretty well over 11 years of school and church. Barry joined the Army infantry almost immediately after graduation and fought in the difficult campaigns of 1967 and 1968 rising to the rank of Staff Sergeant. I am certain he was a good leader, as on a level playing field I am sure that the values Mary taught him showed through. When I was discharged in 1973 I came home and decided to walk the old neighborhood. I was walking past North Heights School and saw Mary doing something in the front yard. I don't recall much of the conversation, but when I asked about Barry, her face contorted with grief and she said through the tears "They killed my boy..." As a Vietnam veteran, the "They..." has always haunted me. I don't know for sure to this day with certainty who she meant. But I know Barry would not have questioned his orders. He was the kind of soldier who has kept us safe for over two centuries. To my friend Barry, and all those we lost, I salute you and say: "Outstanding performance, soldier!" Dave

  14. Happy Memorial Day guys. I was off catching up a little on outdoor projects yesterday. Same today. Chuck, that deck looks terrific. We have a level lot so no deck. My project has been rehabbing a fairly good size covered patio after some years of neglect. Starting to look pretty good but there's more to do. Good project for an old fart retiree. It's also good business for my message therapist. We kicked off Memorial Day on an appropriate note last night watching American Sniper. Highly recommended. Great on surround sound too. Have a peaceful day and cheers to all.

  15. I just wanted to stop in and thank those that served, in the current thread.I could not find a current thread thanking those that did so much to get us through some very rough times. I may have overlooked it but I searched. So I just picked up the ever considerate Boxx thread. Of course its the day we remember all those family and friends that have gone on. So....THANKS to all those that have served this Country, and the world by extension. My Dad was in WWII, I know he paid very high for the country he loved.I hope you all have a great Memorial Day!

  16. Had no idea you were this handy, or brave, not sure which, probably both. I don't mind the engine part so much it's all the wires and vacuum line that scare me the most. I have flashbacks from a Toyota pickup I did that had about 4 miles of vacuum lines, took me weeks to get it right, good thing it was an extra truck at the time.

  22. I would think it's going to sound really good out on your patio, very nice. Just to make it last longer considering your winter weather, I would store it inside during the winter, probably wouldn't be using it much out there anyway. ?

  23. True, had this happen before with different brand, another time in the spring I couldn't get it to start, took apart the carb cleaned it along with the spark plug, nothing dead. thought about the exhaust again and when I looked bees had filled it with dirt, cleaned it out and it started fine, felt like a dumbass. I usually have to clean out the wind chimes once a summer when they start sounding dull, they fill up with dirt from the bees.

  30. I broke a piston skirt somehow. Engine supposedly has 100K on it. I've pulled everything on this less the crank. After I get everything spotless, I'm going back in with new pistons, cam, oil pump, lifters, timing chain and sprockets, new ss headers, etc. Right now I'm using dawn detergent and hot water sparingly to wash these freshly deglazed bores.

  31. Well said. My great uncle Wilmer was KIA in WWI. My half-sister's father was KIA in WWII. They, and others, who paid the ultimate price deserve special recognition today. My father was a 19 yo 2nd Lt. in the Corps of Engineers serving in the Pacific and European theaters. My son served in Afghanistan. They returned safely. As you say, they have Vetereans' Day, but all who served, and are serving still, deserve our respect and gratitude today and every day.

  32. Hey guys.... Was out of touch yesterday cuz the shop office is torn up.....so no wi-fi......and the office is still torn..... OMG we did not get home till 3:30 am this morning......we did the wall paper thing on the office walls and put a coat of paint on the ceiling (needs a 2nd coat) You know Mark if you were closer I'd take you up on the dually.....I don't work on alot of big stuff at the "Honda" shop.....they don't fit in the shop. But I have done some big truck stuff.....I'll just pull it up to my one bay and do the work on the lot. Now if the job requires a lift then it's not a job for me.. It's a pain working on my F250, the lift can pick it up but it's so tight working around it. Ahhh the bee thing.....yea I got those things also.....They are starting to attack the lumber on the deck.....yea I don't think so...a shot of brake clean in the hole...there done!!...I don't like killing them, cuz I like bugs and things....but I'm sorry they can't drill into the deck. tnr...hope you get the Stihl thing worked out, I have a Stihl back pack blower I love, no problems with it ....so far... Chuck... the deck looks great.....good work my man... Gary.. cool set-up for the tune on the deck....get jammin my man.... and all my other peeps have a great day......I'm heading back to the shop to trim carpet and get the office ready for work on Tuesday. All the parts are sittin here for the Truck Hub assy, maybe later. Big race day today, all kinds of racing, missed all the Pub pools for the race(s). Looking at the weather in Texas, the whole state is getting slammed.

  43. About 10 years back one of my Pub Mates was telling me he built a gardning bench for his wife out behind his garage, she liked it but wanted a few outlets, so wile installing a few, that was my first experience with these Bees, i know what your talking about, when i saw their holes, i injeced RTV silicone into the holes, and filled them up. Never saw a Bee again after plugging the holes. Now as far as this RC Bee, sure i can build one but it would be the size of a toaster!
