Afternoon gang Wife has been spring cleaning this week so i told her take a break. She is out entertaining the Indians for the afternoon House, Cave, RV, projects and now the refurb of "The Lawn". Shopping and pondering spray-on or roll down sod, both about the same coin. And Gee, i just remembered those wonderfull sprinklers that need Re-work, like all over the yard This is going to be a busy spring, My Farmers are already trying to Bribe my azz. The one bud with my 36/38 ford truck in the barn, says come out and put a new Carb on it and you can drive it That's what they said years ago with the planes too. Wife just checked in, she played 3Hrs w/$20.....coming home with "C" Note......6 points

Just got back from a trip to southern Canada Monday. My father is faring poorly and is now in his final months. We went down to spend a week at his place in Ontario (Minden), via Ottawa. A very nice visit and realistically the final one. We had a young man we know house sit/cat sit whilst we were away. He was bar none the best we have ever had. The place was as clean and well tended upon our return as it had been at departure. He is something of a musician in his spare time and a music lover in general. Like many younger folk he has a pretty minimal system that he is working on improving but progress has been limited to funds and his contract renewals. This being the case we decided that we will give him the set of RB61IIs and stands that were displaced from the living room by the Ohm Walsh Talls I acquired towards the end of last year. He is very excited and was absolutely gobsmacked when I brought this up. He'll be coming by this Saturday and will transport them to his place. It seemed to me a good use of them, as they are now just sitting doing nothing in the spare room and realistically will not be used in the future. It will be satisfying to have them singing again and helping out a budding audiophile. This is a shot of one of said beasts standing alongside the Ohms upon delivery. Another shot from the holiday season of 2015.5 points

Just caught up on a few days worth of posts....entertaining stuff. I've been busy with work. Being off for a few months, my whole body is sore, but it feels good. Maybe I'll start to lose the 8 lbs I've gained! MKP....I'm sure the Boss might find something interesting to do with that putty5 points

I wouldn't recommend staying in that area. I would recommend traveling about an hour and a half south. There is a nice Mariot in Quincy, MA. The further south you go, the cheaper it will be as well.4 points

Hi-Fi With That Coffee Aroma - 1958 Great article covering Japanese Hi-Fi coffee houses. I have wanted to do something similar ever since I first heard of this vintage Hi-Fi concept. The system pictured is amazing. A better show of the system still in operation. monday, march 7, 2016 Hi-Fi With That Coffee Aroma - 1958 Great article covering Japanese Hi-Fi coffee houses. Sooo I try to remember where all that kickazz skeeter spray is ? AH HA!, It's in the Dodge because of the Farm runs (a standard on the farm) So standard in fact, it's laying on the passenger seat, Swelled up Bottle ready to explode Caught just in time, or the Dodge would be smelling "Ripe" w/Lemon,Eucalyptus..... The best Vinyl system I ever heard was a Garrard changer with an old GE cartridge set at 6 grams pressure with a Heathkit system. I was never able to duplicate it with modern expensive stuff. Zero pops, zero scratches, zero wow and flutter, zero distortion on all records. And that's when I had good ears. And I really mean zero distortion. JJK3 points

Nice putty Mark. God knows what bodily orfice it will eventually end up in. Just got home from another round of bloody shoe bowling. I averaged 188 over 3 games. I'm paying for it now as I soak my dog but it was worth it.2 points

This is an interesting post as it puts faces to forum names. I think I am one of the younger ones here as this first photo was 10 years ago when we won the high school state championship in pennsylvania (far left in the picture) The next year the college I attended won the D3 national championship. Also, during this time I started to acquire klipsch speakers nothing to fancy just an rc 52 to go with yamaha bookshelf speakers Now I am in the Air force nothing exciting like HDR's paratrooping but I have acquired a great deal of klipsch speakers during this time. I've met a few members from here including colterphoto, indyhawg, woofers and tweeters and I hope to meet more in the future2 points

WVU won the NIT in 1942, in the days when the NIT was viewed as superior, by most experts, to the fledgling NCAA tournament. Prior to the 70s, before the NCAA got rid of the rule that only one team per conference could be in the NCAA tournament, the NIT was frequently the better tournament. Unfortunately, with the clear superiority of the NCAA tournament now, and the stigma now associated with a bid to the NIT, most former NIT champs are reluctant to brag about it.2 points
