Ha! Have some fun in that t-shirt and if ya hear that O-H in a gaggle somewhere you know know to respond. lol Jazz every evening would be an enjoyable time for me. A friend of my daughter's is a trama nurse and lives in Brissy. Saw some of her posts from a cruise w/a group she knew. Looked like she was trashed the entire time. lol Go get 'em @Full Range! Maybe I spent the day spinning for a reason? Everybody's Talkin' is the second album and the first live album by the 11-piece Tedeschi Trucks Band and was released in 2012 by Sony Masterworks. It's been released as a 2-CD and 3-CD set as well as a three disc vinyl set. The title comes from the song carrying the same name, formerly a hit for Harry Nilsson. The band's cover is a hybrid of the Nilsson and Bill Withers versions.[1] :)4 points

He's already got the official okie dokie and his library card. Earned not given! Prove me wrong Nailed! I'm thunkin HARD on this one! 3 hours down the road? What a line-up to end the summer! https://bourbonandbeyond2024.frontgatetickets.com/ It's all good, just some better than others. Apply as needed. I think I've got another one in me somewhere. I'm not THAT old! 💪 😂 Seriously, take a look at that day's line up. How much better could it get?3 points

After that it was time for some swamp raga! Hey, I was in the T's and couldn't resist pullin it. I even put it back! Nope, still have piles. More work to do! 😂 During breaks in touring in early 2015, the band used Trucks and Tedeschi's home studio in Jacksonville, FL to record the album.[1] Unlike their previous album, Let Me Get By was written fully by the band, with help from Doyle Bramhall II. Trucks produced the album himself, after having co-produced the band's previous albums. Thom Jurek of AllMusic wrote "An obvious studio offering, it's warm and resonant, yet crackling with energy and ideas. The feel is loose and grooving, the performances hot... Never has TTB sounded so organic, relaxed, and free. Let Me Get By is the album this group has been striving for since their formation. You need this."[2] Do ya? Here's the full album ... Buckle up!3 points

She's pulled a LOT of good stuff outta her bag of tricks. I picked up her Harry Potter lp for my grand daughter to listen to since I turned her onto a complete collection of the books. One thing I did right. She couldn't even read the "big" words so I told her to ask and work on them, which she did. In 30 seconds she had the book and soundtrack recognized. Her mom has watched all the dvd's that came with the books with her. First task was to read the book THEN she got to see how the movies changed up how the book went. The necklace goes around the neck, toe rings go around the toes, earrings go on the ears, finger rings around the fingers, ankle bracelets? There's a psych story there somewhere. Where's @Emile when ya need him? Come to think of it he did mention having to pay for Jimmy Choo heels for his wife when he bought new gear. Where is he when ya need him? I'm not goin there! 😂3 points

Always room for this guy! He's missed like so many others. RIP! English rock guitarist Jeff Beck played with multiple groups, including the Yardbirds, the Jeff Beck Group and Beck, Bogert & Appice. He released numerous studio, live, compilation, video and soundtrack albums during his career, as well as over twenty singles. One great lp right here imo from 2007 and dropping in 08. Performing This Week: Live at Ronnie Scott's is a live album recorded by Jeff Beck. Other performers were Jason Rebello on keyboards, Vinnie Colaiuta on drums and Tal Wilkenfeld on bass. The version of "A Day in the Life" featured on this album was awarded a Grammy for Best Instrumental Rock performance.[1] The version of "Scatterbrain" also featured on this album was placed in the hardest setlist, "Fjord of Swords", of the music video game Guitar Hero 5. Full lp here if your bored w/life and need some foot tappin to get right again.2 points

My ST-70 had zero hum on my LS, and very little on the 2a3 amp I had. The 2a3 amps had AC balance pots for each amp, but they were still pretty quiet. You might try balanced AC... but the transformer would cost some to try. It's legal and been in the IEC regulations for years.2 points

You're more than welcome. I was just paying back for the treatment I had received. This forum used to be a top-shelf and THE go-to place with a lot of helpful and, mostly, friendly members. We have given things away, picked up equipment for others, organized the Pilgrimage and other gatherings, and have been there for each other in many other ways. Sadly, a few years ago, things went sideways, and the cuts that were made caused bleeding that didn't seem to stop until almost everybody left. There were some superb people here. It would be ideal if the powers that be would remove the punitive points and moderated restrictions and see if trust can be reestablished. I'm sure that everyone knows what makes an ideal forum is having great members/people.2 points

@ThomBoh sorry if I missed it...are you shorting the inputs when trying this hum test with just the amp and speakers? There is a SCIENTIFIC way to troubleshoot these types of problems. If with only the speakers connected to the amp and the inputs to the amp shorted and there is hum there is something wrong(or inherent) in the amp. Given another amp running off the same power outlet is fine.1 point

@MT1086 hasn't been back since, but for anyone else with a similar condition, I say double-check your speaker wire polarity.1 point

Reading through this thread it sure seems apparent to me that it is the Decware amplifiers are the source of your Hum Issue. The question then becomes why are you experiencing it at such a high SPL level at the listening chair. This makes me ask how you experience the Hum when you walk around in the room.? Do you hear it as significantly louder and quieter as you move around and also as you measure it with your SPL Meter? I could see in an unfortunate situation where a possibility that room modes at 60Hz/120Hz could be coupling very efficiently with the loudspeaker and listening positions that would exasperate the inherent by design hum of these amplifiers. An unfortunate combination of room dimensions could lead to Room Modes that could easily add +12db to the Hum Level at some areas of the room. Just a thought anyway and I hope you find a solution to this problem… 🙂 miketn1 point

Yeah I wanted to get on the list for a new Torii a couple of years ago. Glad I didn't. My custom Aric Audio 300B amp only took five weeks from commission to receipt. And as good as Steve's work is, I think I made the right decision.1 point

Wish there were real urologists here! Did not think to check on that, In FL and NC they go after the issue. I never thought of that as "aggressive". Though that was the way it's done. Day 4 now, this ain't right!! Things change, the tylenol 4 is in me now, it works 8 hours. Ran out of my saved stuff from 2017 and the year after. The Flowmax might have helped already too. I'm comfortable except for the amount of liquids going through1 point

A quick update The Audio Technica ATML170 cartridge repair to original specifications is now complete and will be posted ASAP The technician said it has “30dB separation and on testing sounds fab too.” In 4 days time I will be departing for a 14 day holiday / vacation, It’s on a cruise 🚢 to New Zealand If it’s not to cold as it’s now Autumn here, and New Zealand is cold for someone that lives in the tropics 😎I am going to wear my Ohio state football T shirt just in case I bump into like minded fans from the US On past cruises my wife and I visited the jazz blue room nightly for coffee and live jazz so will do that again and will post photos if time permits I have internet so will check in regularly and although I won’t be spinning vinyl I will be entertained by your posts1 point

You guys are makin' me feel pretty healthy. A friend of mine had his kidney stones blasted/broken up with ultrasonic. It wasn't very comfortable either.1 point

Sometimes you find a belt off of its drive motor. If belt looks okay, turn back on to see dc motor is actually turning. May be wiring connection not making contact. If burnt smelling inside, try to determine if motor or burnt belt smell.1 point

OKay, I will take a look. It's been serviced before. I think the belts may be okay, but I will open it up and find out.1 point

Thanks Cal, I was hoping you'd see the post. I have the origl VTL book and it does go into some details regarding the Super Deluxe phono stage and states the Ultimate and SDL have the same phono section. I'm primarily interested in finding out the values of each of the dip switches in the mc settings. I'm getting conflicting values on some switches between the 2 switch banks when I measure from 1 to 8 in the "on" position. Unfortunately I haven't received any response from VTL. My MC cartridge is being rebuilt atm. Here's an excerpt from the book on the SDL & Ultimate preamps... Shawn1 point

from the reviews I’m reading these should be a match made in heaven for heritage speakers. does anyone have or had these & what’s your impressions. (sound, reliability) I have custom built cornwalls (kappa woofers, faital horn/a55g driver, fastrac hf horn/b&c de 120 driver & super b crossovers with rike audio s caps strictly digital using modded musical paradise dac21 point

my buddy has a primaluna integrated & tried 88’s, 120’s & 150’s & says the 150’s will never come out. the punch, slam & authority of the sound is like standing in front of the speaker stack at a concert. mind you he is a bass head & not too worried about small detail or twinkling hf decaying as it floats off out of the soundstage. he’s also not using klipsch speakers. I’d say if you find a good deal, go for it. if you don’t like them you can always sell them on audiogon or usaudiomart1 point

I’ve always been told to not touch the glass because the oils on my skin can damage/weaken the glass when heated yet the only person to touch the tubes with gloves was the final packer. great video1 point

with the greatly reduced gain is preamp selection a bit tricky? I see the quicksilver pre is designed for this but I wonder with only a pair of 6dj8’s it would seem to be little more than a buffer (please correct me if I’m wrong.) I know nothing about pre amps, I’ve always had intergrated amps1 point

I switched out my winged c el34’s for electro harmonix 6ca7’s in my audio space as3i amp to cornwall 1’s I’m very surprised by the difference in sound quality from changing power tubes. first thing I noticed is they use less juice (had to turn them down a full 0.1mv to bias) I immediately noticed a wider soundstage, bass is tighter with a bit more oomph. mids & highs are cleaner & crisper. it’s almost like the winged c’s were just a touch out of focus where the eh 6ca7’s are dialed right in on everything. a word of warning though, I think someone with younger, better ears might find the mids with stock horns a touch sharp or maybe fatiguing (damping the horn might take care of that) overall I’m very impressed & will be keeping these. although I shouldn’t be that surprised cause I’m using eh gold pin 12au7’s in the pre section (& love them) & a vintage telefunken short ribbed plate in the output section1 point

thanks (the pics don’t do it any justice) nothing touching the back panel. I used a strip of 1 sided foam strip to seal & prevent vibration of the back panel1 point

I can’t believe nobody has suggested these yet. taking into consideration you have kept the jbl 100’s (I had hpm 100’s) unfortunatly I think they’re only available in black...tangent t5000’s they’re make by klipsch & nicknamed the super heresy. they’re no where near as big as a cornwall but have enough bass to shake the windows cranking classic rock. you should be able to pick a pair up $250-350 range1 point
-
I would suggest an intergrated without a built in phono stage. the yaquin phono stage with vintage telefunken or siemens tubes is way better than any phono stage you’ll get built into any amp under $5000. to pair nicely with your speakers I’d recommend NOT going with set amp. tube amps don’t need tone controls, that’s what changing tubes does. do try to find one that can switch between triode & ultralinear. many nice amps get you started without breaking the bank. examples to look at grant fidelity, jolida, yaqin, musical paradise, other guys in the tubes section could likely suggest a few more too1 point

wow, beautiful room. lots of character. I have & love cornwalls but a room that size lascalla's would be great too. room size not a problem for khorns but possible complications if you want to place speakers on either side of the bay window (which would be best layout to use the dimensions of the room to your advantage, sonically speaking)1 point
