  1. A quick afternoon spin as I’m flying to Newcastle first thing in the morning I will be visiting my elderly mum and my drummer mate to help with his Klipsch setup but I suspect that he probably needs some room treatment Artist - Supertramp Title - Crime Of The Century

  2. The planets aligned for me today. We'll see how tomorrow goes. Yea, it's a tease but you ALL know how I responded when @JohnJ posted a Dom Martin tune over in the youtube spinning thread. ONE song and I was IN with both feet running to his site picking up his last two lp's. Screw youtube & researching it was ON! It would have been 3 had his first one been in stock. Pricey from the UK? Didn't matter, it was going down you all know that! Yea, I did ANOTHER crazy thang! 💪😂 The old guy who's outta room and has stacks leaning against the wall ain't done yet! So today, that parcel arrived safe and sound in bullet proof packaging along w/another couple lp's from my regular dude's shop. Tomorrow we go for a ride and you're all invited! You can always scroll on down too! lol

  6. Mine's collecting dust lately @Invidiosulus not like those. Made some meat sauce & fettuccini yesterday, like everything else it hurt. Today with leftover coffee-milk from lunch it was yummy and the comfort food it should be! Nice to have a table again, nevermind the canvas tarp, it's still clean & I like it better than flowers!! The camo one is too used to use it for this.

  14. Ok, I'm drooling. Came up with this wild idea of boycotting Kroger so have been diving into the stockpile. About time to rotate things but also getting ready for a massive wallet rape maybe this week but could make it a couple more. Started thinking all ya really need is a baked tater w/sour cream and butter. Factored in a cob salad w/goodies once a day. So that runs about 84$ a week and it's good stuff not junk. I hit Kroger I buy more garbage than I should anc drop more than the 84 a week AND have to put it together. Bacon, chopped egg, cheese, lettuce ya wind up chopping? It aint rocket science but when ya involve the nickel & dime stuff along w/the all the other garbage I wind up buying? Blah. It's good for me and I'm dropping weight which is also good. Won't be long and I'll be right back in Kroger playin the game though. Life's boring like that. lol Gonna soooo beat that darn grasshopper! Just hope things are ok on his end. Crazy!

  15. Oldies but Goodies! Played one of these at the youtube thread the other week then saw: "Intervention worked for months with Universal's archive team, scouring the vaults in the US and UK for the best-sounding tapes. Several sets of tapes, including 1970s-era tape copies, were sent to mastering and evaluated by IR's Shane Buettner and Chris Bellman. The best-sounding tapes are 1/2" safety copies from the 1990s A&M Safety Program. The Wind of Change and Frampton safeties are sourced from UK Production Masters, while the Frampton's Camel safety is sourced from the Original Stereo Master. These tapes sound sensational, vibrant, detailed and alive. Combined with Chris Bellman's work at the board, and the superbly transparent mastering chain at Bernie Grundman Mastering, legions of fans will hear what Peter and the band really put on tape during this seminal period. Fans will hear bottom-end authority, dynamics and textural details never revealed on any previous edition." $ not $$ Thick, scalloped, deep cases not paper sleeves

  17. Amazing work. I'm shocked you are able to preserve the lettering on the chrome. I'm still enjoying the two MC250's you turned into perfect condition. Attachment is a quick wired setup in a newly refinished small room. Can you do amazing things to a MC225? jc 1586.mp4

  20. Someone emailed me to say that my reluctance was showing in my asking price. Well duh! I really don’t want to sell, but if someone will pay 3K, I’ll consider it. Are they worth that much? Maybe I’m crazy but that’s not too out of whack from what I’ve seen elsewhere.

  32. So I have been at this little project for a while and February still has a few days in it. If you have read this topic in "Alerts", I try not to bore you. I just didn't want to fix the straight risers that came with these Heresy's so I thought I would get around to making a pair of slant risers. This picture was taken on February 2nd and it looked just like that until Sunday the 16th (don't want to rush things, ya know) when I cut some of this Brazilian Cherry flooring to length (about twelve and a quarter inches) and used the new taper jig and made a couple cuts. I tried the angled cut pieces under the Heresy's and I liked the angle (about 7.5 degrees or 1.625 inch rise over the 12.25 inch run) Yesterday I cut the fronts and backs then mitered the corners at 45, then out came the glue and masking tape (nice burn huh?). I am going to put some glue blocks in the front two corners and hopefully give a bit of strength

  33. I do not know what the original angle is/was as have newer seen a pair of slants (or a single for that matter). When I got the pair of empty oak Heresy cabs they had been drilled and had no risers with them so I decided to make a pair. I am guessing that at the time I did some research and I didn't find an answer (or there was conflicting information) so I did some eyeball engineering (yep, that looks good) and went with it. It likely went something like this, lets see - this hunk of cut off 2 x 4 ought to do and propped up the front of the Heresy with said 2 x 4 and sat in a chair about 10 feet away and starred at empty cabinet and it looked, well, correct. Now the back was sitting on the floor and the front up one and a half inches I needed to add bit of altitude to the back to screw the riser to the original holes that were already there so that ended up at about 3/4 inch so that was added to the fronts also. Now the fronts were 2.25 inch and the backs .75 inch, sit back and look from the same position 10 feet away. So I had the plan in my head and the 1 x 4 Brazilian Cherry in my hand I went to the table saw to make it work. I forgot to say the flooring was FREE so that was much of the motivation to make it work and several of the lengths were 54 inches which works well if I didn't mess up . So that's how the 7.5 degree angle was determined (I think) by me and besides its tough to put your drink (or a plant for that matter) on one without spilling or siding off Gary

  34. Hi all, hoping you can help with a purchase descion I'm making. I'm looking to purchase a new receiver for my home theater system. My SONY TV has an HDMI input. Should I be looking to purchase a receiver with HDMI inputs/outputs also? Is there any advantage? I imagine there is, but I just don't know that much about it. Thank you in advance for any assistance you can offer!

  36. Hi all, I know my question isn't audio related, but everyone provides great advice here that I thought I'd ask this question. I'm looking at purchasing a new TV, but I don't know enough about LCD or DLP to understand the differences. Does anyone have any insight or know of a website I could look at for information? Thx.

  37. Great feedback. Thanks everyone! There's a lot of talk about the Samsung 61" DLP, but what about the Toshiba 62" DLP. Anyone have any opinions on which might be better? From everything I've read so far, it sounds like Samsungs getting a lot of kuddos.

  39. I own the Denon 2900 and I can honesly tell you it's worth the price (in my opinion). In terms of performance and ease of use - it's fantastic. I previously owned a Sony DVD player and after hooking up my new Denon 2900 to my system, I heard music and vocals sound coming from movies I've previously wached that I had never heard before. It all depends on your wallet, but if it's possible you won't be diappointed with the 2900.

  40. Hi all, I'm considering selling my Denon 2803 receiver. I've had it for a little over a year and it's in mint condition (not a single scratch anywhere). The reason I'm considering selling it, is simply to upgrade to something else. Any suggestions as to where I should post it? Would eBay be the best place to sell it?

  42. Hi all! I've found a great deal on a Denon DVD player, 2800 MKII. Does anyone have any feedback on this DVD player? Is it worth the money? receiver - Denon 2800 speakers - Klipsh 25 Reference series (all the way around)

  43. Thanks for everyon'e feedback! The deal for the Denon DVD player was $300. It isn't brand new, but rather a trade in. The player looks phenomenal, as if it was never even taken out of the box. There are absolutely no scratches of any kind anywhere on the device (front, back, sides, bottom.....anywhere), which is what made me take notice as I've never purchased a trade-in item before - not that you can't get good deals on one. I purchased the DVD player last night (with a 10 day return poilcy if I wasn't satisfied) and set it up at home. Though I haven't been able to play with all the functions yet, I did put a couple DVD's in and noticed an immediate difference in sound quality! I was floored by the difference from my old Sony player to this one. The picture quality is also better, but not as dramatic a diference as the audio quality. Based on everyone's feedback regarding the 2200 model, do you think it's worth picking one up and trying it out? Any idea if I would notice any additional improvements?
