  1. Now that I have looked at this unit closely, it looks very much like a brand new unit. Not the best pics, but this is what it looks like. Note scratch on bottom of unit.
  2. I am the original owner and have all the original packaging and documentation. Paid $670 new.............selling for ........shipped to the lower 48. Excellent condition. HVAC non smoking no marks on unit that I can see. Used only for MWM bass cabinet duty. Pics coming.
  3. TADs have more energy up top, Celestions have more down low. They are similar in the middle. With EQ they can be made to sound very close all around.
  4. I have had a pair of the Celestions on my 402s for months now. I wanted to try them out. They are pretty close to the TAD 4002s but there are slight noticeable differences. I have been enjoying them.
  5. I had KPT-305s (mid bass modules) that were a 402 with an 8" driver in a sturdy Klipsch box and heavy duty rubber feet. I sold them.......but that box would be great for a 402 in other applications.
  6. I've had Amperex Bugle Boys in the 12AU and 12AX positions for years. That was after trying a few but not too many others. These seem to satisfy me the most for a mix of music.
  7. Does either remote (TV or sound bar) have an alternate remote control transmit setting? What I mean is some have alternate transmitter frequencies for the situation where there may be one or more remotes or interference like what you are getting.
  8. I don't recall. But I remember it was massive and had all the EQ in the network. But you needed to have K69 drivers if I remember correctly. I am running all active.
  9. Klipsch did design passives for early Jubs for K69 drivers. The design was subsequently updated, but this goes back to around 2007-2009 timeframe. These ALK networks will work well with any 8 or 16 ohm drivers. They are very driver friendly. You do not need to change your drivers for these ALK networks. ..........and yes they will work fine for JWC mini punch as well.
  10. I bought these from ALK to try and simplify by using a single amp and use outboard analog EQ. A pure analog system. Worked very well and easy to adjust. Sounded very good. These networks are an aftermarket work of art. Just look at them. Typical ALK. I only sold them to return to the Klipsch supported method of running Jubs with an active crossover and Roy's settings. I not only sold the networks I replaced the 402 drivers to be consistent with the latest Klipsch Jub support. I like the control advantages and clean sound of the digital system, and so having no plans to return I sold the networks. For someone looking for a simplified way to run Jubs in a pure analog system with a single amp and easy to adjust in a room, these are a fine alternative. You will need an EQ to use these with a K402 horn. I was using an Ashly 31 band on the tape monitor loop of my preamp. Worked very well.
  11. I agree with this. Tell me if I am wrong.............but if you look at the schematic, I believe only C1 matters anyhow as the other caps are in shunt positions and not directly in the signal path. I have used Dayton caps and they are not quite as revealing as Sonic caps. But for $300 you did not get ripped off. The networks look nicely built. Replace the C1 caps if you feel the sound is not up to snuff. I doubt the others matter at all.
  12. What a great find. Congrats. I would be more concerned that they are electrically correct. They look pretty good already.
  13. I was lucky enough to get one of the 1,969 numbered boxed sets of the entire original Woodstock concert. 38 CDs along with several other pieces of memorabilia. Took me quite a while to eventually hear it all.
  14. I have a garage system with some Heresys and an old Harmon Kardon receiver. Listen to analog FM anytime I'm working out there. Have rabbit ears with the dial on them and it works fine for stations around Athens and Atlanta. There is still plenty of diversity of music on FM in this area. Anything you want to listen to.
  15. I took my bass bins out in the driveway stood them up and pressure washed them. Brushed the heavy deposits. There are pics of me doing that somewhere on this forum.
  16. Bingo. There's at least something a little wrong with all of us. 🙂
  17. Yeah. You would not not drink a free ice cold Bud?
  18. One of my best posts. 14 years later and I still feel the same.

    Jokes?

I have a huge lawn like everyone else on our street and I am the only one that uses a push mower........and I bag it. In fact I am the only one on the street that even mows their own lawn. Neighbors drive by seeing me out there pushing and they just shake their heads. I can just imagine what they say about me. But it's good exercise. One time a neighbor stopped and said why the heck don't you get a darn riding mower? Well I already tried that. I told them that I tried two different ones at Home Depot and I couldn't push them, they were too heavy. So I just kept my same old push mower.
  20. My 4 MWM-S Cabinets are fiberglass with the aluminum edge banding. Hard to find the singles like this any longer.
  21. Several months ago I removed the XII mid-bass modules and the TAD drivers on the 402 horns. I replaced them with a pair of Celestion AXI 2050s. Basically simplified the system by removing the mid-bass module and crossing much lower with the 402s..........and going from a 4 way to a 3 way. It could be a 2-way easily, but I have not done that at this point. I still have subs so really it's a 4-way right now.......was a 5-way with the mid-bass modules. Enjoyed that for several years but got a little tired of the complexity, so many amplifiers. When it came time to make adjustments it was the better part of a day. I have retained all the equipment so I could put it back at anytime. I was just wondering what the crossover was from the original MCM setup.
  22. What is the crossover frequency on the 1900 system from the MWM woofer cabinets to the mid-bass or midrange horns?
  23. Have you tried something as simple as to mute all the XIlica output channels and turn them on one at a time to listen to just 1 channel at a time and see exactly where the distortion is coming from? Is it just the woofers, just the tweeters, just 1 channel? Sorry if you have already been through all this.
  24. So there are many different Klipsch speakers and equipment combos............so I understand the comment above. But as I mentioned on Page 1 I have had excellent results with Telefunken smooth plates in my McIntosh C220, and C2500 preamps that get paired Mac S/S amps. I doubt I could find a tube/equipment combo that pleases me more for my Jubilees and MCM setup. I have rolled lots of tubes into those preamps. What may be helpful to you.............. is that for my cornwalls I have an HH Scott LK-72 with no NOS tubes at all. I have rolled for years and found Electro Harmonix tubes to be pleasing over several other current production tubes. All a matter of taste, right? For my Lascalas I have NBS/VRDs and the only NOS tubes I use in all of that are the 12AU and 12AX tubes in the VRDs which are all Amperex Bugle Boys. I have been pretty happy with that combo as well. In the VRDs specifically, I did not like any of the current production tubes. With the Mcintosh equipment in the room.........nothing sounds as clear. The Bugle Boys were about the clearest I found for the VRDs. Still, that setup doesn't get much use. I use the LK-72 and cornwalls more. I would check out EH tubes.
