  1. There is probably more validity to this than the often used shame of breaking in cables I.e. interconnects, speaker wire etc. When one pays $150/ft. foot for 10 ft. of speaker cable and isn't put into instant nirvana well then, just give 'em 100 hours of run in time at which point you will be thrilled. Not so much, you finally became acclimated to how they sound and like magic they are now worth the $1500 that was sucked from your wallet.
  2. Well I can say they sound equally amazing with a pair of Quick Silver horn monos, 25 watt PP EL34 and a Dennis Had 10 watt KT88 SE integrated. Gonna try 'em on a 50 watt Peter Daniel chip amp over the weekend and then the George Wright 2a3 monoblocks at a Big 2.5 DHT watts. That should keep me busy for the weekend and soon thereafter the ensuing garage sale. Owned a un-restored Scott a few years ago, don't remember the model, did nothing for me. More pics with better light coming soon.
  3. ^^^^^ Agreed - they do remind me of a flock of honking geese, a big flockin' flock. I guess "horn deaf" after all these years.
  4. I've spoken with Texas several times a few years ago. A square sale for sure, no worries. I'll give him a few days space before listing my super-duper KHorns. I think that's only fair.
  5. ^^^^^ "There will never be going back" - as long as space permits I believe you are correct, Sir. Didn't want to jump the gun until I knew what I was getting into but I'm fairly certain a near mint perfect pair of KHorns and Famous Frankensteins will soon be headed to market.
  6. In place, wired and playing. Magnificent. Gonna quickly run thru 3 or 4 amps, gather my wits and report in. Will compare to Khorns, Frankensteins, LS/Belles, Corns. Had 'em all, still have the two former. These are different. These are brilliant. These are Gentle Giants. Thanks PWK. Thanks Mr. Delgado. (Chief Bonehad isn't appropriate here)
  7. Thanks, I was hoping to capitalize on this contest. party pooper -
  8. ^^^^^ First with the answer wins a free drink of Carl's magic potion. Must attend Hope April gathering to win, must be present to win or winning drink goes to the judging committee - Me.
  9. And didn't mean to crap on your thread Metro, cool pic. Off on one of my tangents, sorry.
  10. Great explanation Metro. So it's not just me, it does suck. CEC, I wouldn't even drink Corona listening to Bose, oh that's right, no Bose OR Corona in this house. Then how 'bout this - a couple of Shiners with Jubes? You in ---?
  11. Captiva - been there, stayed there, several times. Corona for Deoxit, sounds like a better use than drinking it. Always leery of a beer that you have to put fruit in the bottle so it might taste better. Never understood the allure of Corona - great marketing, shitt taste. Not even my new Jubes would make that swill taste better. I'm done.
  12. Wow - really nice. So wish I had half those skills. Did you make the piano too ??!! Just sayin' ---
  13. ^^^^^ How right you are. Yeah a six foot bed ain't gonna get it. They were dropped off at my old office which is just a mile from my stepsons work. Took one 402 over to him and will bring it over tonight to the heavy lifting. Lots of work left this evening.
  14. A couple buddies, a couple brews and these Jubes will be at their new home. More to come ----
  15. If memory serves and at my age its becoming further away every day, in 1977 I paid $1400 for a new pair of factory fresh LaScallas. That's around $5500 today. So new LS are twice that but those numbers are only the currency/inflation/ cost of living conversion. One must figure the business cost of Klipsch today to produce the speakers.
  16. Ketchup based Q sauce from the west is right up BSM's alley. Probably same for his chili - heat one large pot of ketchup, add ingredients. But Del Taco chili must be the top of his go to chili favorites.
  17. ^^^^^ Read some funny stuff on here but THAT IS FUNNY --- Yeah do that, buy a boat. You won't be able liquidate gear fast enough to keep up with that. I'll offer pennies on the dollar for the amps to help pay for your first prop. Keep me posted --
  18. Maybe Maynard can find use for some of these - ? They look right up his alley -
  19. Going from one expensive hobby to another Very Expensive hobby - good luck.
  20. ^^^^^ Yep, if you didn't have bad luck you would have no luck at all. I think we can all relate to that!
  21. ^^^^^ That's pretty good - have any luck?
  22. Christy again - Relative to Tom exit the state of KS runs an ad for the Lottery. Of course they assume people with nice Could have bought them with lotto winnings, in this case parking an expensive car front and center so all can see with the catch phrase - showing everyone your "automobile domination". I think many on the forum practice the same - making sure their in depth knowledge of all things PWK and Klipsch shows their "audio domination".
  23. ^^^^^ Christy - This is the age of the interweb. Decency and respect are long gone. You never look at someone's face when you come at them, you hide behind a keyboard. Anyone is an expert when they declare they are, on any subject. Look at politics, news, the daily marches of "equality". I pity my Grandkids - this is the tip of the iceberg.
  24. So is it a stretch to assume in order to replicate as near as possible true "live, you're there" sound Klipsch engineers follow the early concepts from WE with large horn formats such as the 402? And also to adhere to efficiency standards PWK built his reputation?
