you can not set counter balance by messurement of distance in terms of how far it is on the shaft. it needs to be set up by using balance.

this was my thought as I looked at the layout also, but did not bring it up in here. I also had a question about the MDF used and would have liked to have seen the components used on the XO, but since I am not the one buying them right now... I didn't want to bring it up. they do look spectacular.

AND... how do you know what sound is being produced by the speaker/Headphone, say20Hz, is actually an accurate 20Hz sound?

seems some have had what is basically a handshake issue... on my 806, I never experienced that in sound or video... however I did have a slight delay at times at start up with a PS3 video mode.

welcome to the forum Eh... that idea is NOT entirely a truism but I understand it. any heritage DOES indeed sound wonderful through a tube amp... but they also can sound wonderful through a Solid State Unit. the trick is, finding a SS unit that will deliver tube like richness and a wonderfully black floor. PWK has written his feelings on SS and it's not a bad opinion from the things I have seen. good luck with your quest.

I had an 806 for a couple years that ran Heresys... the unit DID infact run very hot. I never had a failure though but I could see how it might happen frequently to some. those things just generate a lot of heat, I would warm my entire living room wiht one and my plasma running at the same time.

I don't understand all this contensious behavor lately on the boards...
