  1. That really isn't the case, you can get it pretty much bone dry. It is actually the only method youncan use on a MB. Depending on the make and model of vehicle, where drain plug is located, you can actually get more out than using a drain plug.
  2. I have heard just about every configuration you can imagine, passive, active. 95 percent of it is Roy's bass bin/402 combo and his settings, 3% is K69 or TAD, 2 percent is active vs passive. You need to start with the 90 to know where you are getting at. The people who for sure thought the sound was harsh were the ones who got an 1132 by mistake IIRC. Roy was the one who got us into TAD, and they have to be Be to make it worth the expense. I wasn't aware they offered a non-Be option. If you really want to look at 3 or 4 way, his Gradure line takes things way above the previous 3 way in my opinion. But you would really have to know what you are doing to go that route because you would be the one forging new ground. Mark prefers the 3 way approach, but he has gone through many, many permutations. I don't think he is even using the Jube bass bin. If you want turn key bliss get the 402/69 combo with a good active that Chris recommends, or even a good used DX 38 as a reference, and add salt and pepper to taste from there. If you go more modern up to date xover, get one that will allow our to go 3 way if you decide to go that route later on, or just to try out.
  3. The 2 Way, with K-69 drivers and DX-38 is mind blowing, and is a set up that has extensive information. I would start there, for a great many people, that was all they ever wanted and they were done. The TAD drivers, to my recollection are universally considered to be an improvement, in one way or another, but whether the improvement is worth the cost is subject to personal taste. You have to get them with K-69 in a two way so my thinking is try them out for 50 to a 100 hours and see what you think with your room and application before making the upgrade. As to the 3-way, the guy who designed both the 2 way for home application and the 3 and 4 way systems for pro cinema, @Chief bonehead, has indicated that 2 way is going to be the optimal configuration for most home applications, but not all. He has stated that there are some situations where the advantages of his 3 way could be utilized. In addition to @Chris A, @mikebse2a3 can give you a lot of his thoughts on what you might consider based upon your room size and configuration. Travis
  4. Actually it is fun, it is fascinating to me and I can watch it all day long.
  5. You are one step away from getting your own thread locked. Last warning. I won't just lock it, I will hide it as well.
  6. So what, CABLE news is a drop in the bucket. Total viewers on Fox, CNN MSNBC for news shows, not O'Riley (seen his demos?), Madow, but news, is between 1 and 2 million total per day. Evening news, one time slot, 3 networks, CBS, NBC, ABC, over 22 million viewers. Every night, day in, day out. Fox doesn't even compete in this slot. When you hear the term "mainstream media", this is what groups who study media and the news are referring to. Cable news isn't even a player in the news market. There are 3 markets that have LOCAL news markets with more viewers than all of Fox, MSNBC and CNN combined. All of this is studied, very precisely, very methodically and constantly. If anyone is really interested in this stuff just go to Pew Research and it is all there. Bias, trends, everything you could possibly want to know about your journalism and media. As far as a neutral, fact driven cable network, there is only one. I have mentioned it many, many times on here before. C-Span But it's no fun. You have to understand the process, then watch it in real time, and then think for yourself and come to your own conclusions.
  7. Gil: You ever see the Klipsch magazine ad in a journal for dealers about a Klipsch dealer from the late 50' mabe early 60s talking about how he sold so many Khorns? If people wanted to hear them he wouldn't play them for them in the store, and he wouldn't quote a price. He said he would set them up in their house, no money, no deposit, he would pick them up in a week. He would return after a week, 80% wanted them and kept them without even knowing their price. I will see if I can get that article from The Historian. TW
  8. Did that school happen to be in Texas. There is another forum member who has posted photos of that exact setup from a Texas HS.
  9. Did Paul own a Marantz 8b? Did he have a preference for certain amplifiers in his home system?
  10. Canyon man, so sorry to hear about this. Which deck, the Ontari, not the Sauder I hope? I have claims with several of them and UPS was easiest to deal with. There are a few different ways it can go. Is it repairable? If so, get an estimate from repair shop if possible. If total loss, then see if repair/service facility will give you a statement of condition, and fair market value for that condition when it left their hands. I take it there are no issues with the way it was packaged for return shipping?
  11. What size room do you have? Do you have photos of the room the system is going in that you can post?
  12. Yeah I know, I'm such a softie , but hey, Tis the Season. God Bless Us Everyone (Tiny Tim)
  13. OK I have gone through this thread and cleaned up OP's posts, removed offensive photo and another photo that I had no idea what it was so removed it to error on the side of caution; removed offensive and vulgar language. Because it is the Holidays, and I am always in a good mood this time of year I only issued warning points and took the time to clean it up as opposed to just hiding locking and/or hiding thread ( which I don't think I have ever had to do). I apologize if I edited a non-offending post, but I felt I needed to delete the quoted language of the OP.
  14. But you are only 81 posts from the promised land, so bump with a post, not a button
  15. The key is how much the dealer had to pay on his CC to KGI to secure order, and without getting into the specifics, 75% of retail isn't making sense.
  16. Got it, they said they were giving him 75% refund and holding 25% until it is refunded, I missed that originally .
  17. You want to try and message @Timmikid Here is the only top photo I could find, Craig is an expert on these by the way. The real trick is the way he replaces the cans, without really replacing the cans . I was going to have him redo mine with Jensens like he did a C22 for Finni, he went a different route, kept it all stock, updated it and POW.
  18. I sold mine to a forum member, he flew out from the Netherlands to get it. I will see if I can get some photos from him
