Go larger still, look for RF7's, Forte's, Chorus or the Cornwalls. Get the latest versions your budget allows. 👍

Yes, you would not want glass, you want the sound to pass through the panels with ease. Check out this site for ideas on creating art panels. So, its possibly a room issue. Just because it's so easy to do, turn the treble knob down a tick or two and see what happens. I'm glad you're digging the Epics bass, as do I. Perhaps, some room treatments might diminish the high frequencies as well.
