  1. There was a pair like them for sale here sometime ago located in Arkansas. Might have been Funkyhambone selling them. Not a very common veneer but rather unintersting grain pattern. Nothing to get too excited about. Now bring on the Brazilian Rosewood Lacquer Stained, Macassar Ebony or Rambling Rose 1 or 2, and Tigerwood and then the excitement begins.
  2. Why mess with success? The original Jensen P15LL K-33's in my '62 Cornwalls say otherwise they are still going strong. The pansy material in the metal cones damages far more easily. How many dented, damaged or flexed cerametallic woofers have you seen on eBay? I have never seen a paper cone have that issue.
  3. At $2500 probably not. Unfortunately you can get two pairs of standard Cornwalls for that price. If you want higher power handling swap in a K-43 woofer.
  4. If they were built later in 1980 they will have the desirable K-55V's with the solder terminals and dual phase plug.
  5. Yes a 3347 would be an LSI (Industrial La Scala) with a cast aluminum input plate most likely.
  6. I seriously doubt you could tell the difference in a blind listening test between the two.
  7. Hello Dave, fellow Vermonter here. Welcome to the forum! Let me know if you need any assistance as I am well versed in all things Klipsch. I have owned all of the Heritage line and still possess a good majority of them so I am very familiar. Would love to see more photos of your Shorthorns. SWR-15 = Shorthorn Walnut Raw, 15" woofer which could be a Stevens Tru-sonic 103LX or EV 15WK, possibly a K-1000 midrange horn with a K-55 driver and the chrome throat screw terminal 16 ohm K-77 (EV T-35), or they may have University drivers. There should be a card stapled to the right of the tag you have pictured showing the handwritten driver complement typically.
  8. Check the Garage Sale Greg was selling a very nice pair not to long ago.
  9. I had a beautiful pair of 1968 Mahogany Vertical Cornwalls, very nice finish.
  10. There was a member on here a number of years ago that made a pair of scaled down Klipschorn's and Belle's and they were rather nicely done. I don't recall his name but I think he sold a pair to a forum member. There were photos as well not sure if they are archived on the old forum or not. They guy was a very good master cabinet maker.
  11. They bill you 10% now and that includes shipping costs no more selling for me.
  12. ALK Universal for Klipschorn, La Scala, and Belle.
  13. It was gone before we made a move. I knew it was a deal but I did not have use for them. I have too much gear already. I picked up a nice Onkyo TX-DS989 Receiver and a Toshiba SD-9200 DVD/CD player not too long ago from them for like $100.
  14. It's changed slightly since this photo. Cornwalls' and another pair of Heresy HIP's in the rear. It can make some noise.
  15. Yes they are right up the road from me. What are you looking for the receiver? It would take some doing to correctly and safely ship it. Would need some stout cartons unless you plan on having Fedex or UPS do it for you. I see they are still availalbe which is surprising since that receiver is desireable.
  16. This is going up for sale at 9AM this morning if anyone is interested. I have too much gear I can pick up and store for someone until you can retrieve it. Looks like the L166 woofers need a refoam no surprise there. They state the Pioneer SX-1050 is working fine and you get a free Pioneer CD changer as well. Let me know if I can help. https://shop.estatesalesandconsignments.com/vintage-stereo-lot-with-pioneer-sx-1050-receiver-and-more-price-includes-tax-stk-14926-131/
  17. Those are some beautiful networks, I have the original ALK Universals in my La Scala's and the ALK Type-B's in my Cornwalls and love them. I can only imagine how nice these make them sound.
  18. A Cornwall is ideal, Heresy minimum, Academy works. The KLF-C7 is not a match not even close. Not a bad speaker but it has a totally different timbre as it was designed for the Legend line of speakers.
  19. They are "Updates", not "Upgrades". Crites stuff is only a lateral move from original parts. Very nice looking speakers you paid top end for but they look top end and I am sure they will sound fantastic.
  20. Some of my all time favorite cassette decks are Nakamichi CR-7A, RX-505, ZX-9, Dragon. Teac R-999X, R-888X, Z-5000. Akai GX9, GX-7. Luxman KX-100, Alpine/Luxman K-106. K-112. Best quality cassette to use in said decks TDK MAX-G Metal w/Metal frame. Some of these decks use DBX encoding that will bring the recording to CD level dynamic range and noise levels. Got rid of all mt decks and tapes many years ago. Used a Nakamichi TD-700 tape deck in my car as well as the Alpine 7347 paired with the Alpine 3015 computer equalizer and a Rockford Fosgate Power 650 with four JBL T545 6x9's as this was before subwoofers became common place.
  21. Finally heard back from the guy sadly they were already spoken for. No tweaking for me I suppose. 😞
  22. Good to know Claude they are most likely ported from the little bit of research I have done and the woofers are 16 ohms connected in parallel I assume. I have no direct use or place for them if I do manage to get them as I have not received a reply yet. I was planning on keeping them in storage for someone that may want them rather than them ending up in a scrap heap.
  23. I found this video on Youtube of them in action. I also found the guy's for sale ad and he states they weigh 172lbs apiece. Oh goodness! My wife and I will struggle to get these in the car hope the guy is around to assist.
  24. Came across this ad on Craigslist in the event anyone has any interest. Apparently the woofers just need to be refoamed. I am sure they would sound excellent. I sent him an email to go take a look at them and I will pick them up and put them in storage. Anyone know a place that can refoam the vintage 15" Utah woofers? https://vermont.craigslist.org/ele/d/westford-please-save-these-kings-of/7125648446.html
