  1. Many now think of Klipsch as a headphone company. Starting with the in ear monitors introduced at Pilgrimage 2007 the first I attended and have since branched out into on ear and over ear models. We have an original Custom 2, an Image X10 acquired a year later, 2 sets of Image A5i - I got one to use as a phone headset and Alea commandeered them, and most recently over / around the ear Status I won in Klipsch Twitter #UnleashRoy contest. Woo Hoo! Like the in ear models, they are very good. Of the in ears the Custom 3 were my favorite sound wise of the original with the X5 coming in close and winning as small like the X10 (originally IMAGE) though not as tiny as the X10. The X7i are the favorite sound quality wise of the current models I've heard. Wow. New Orleans to DC. Hope you're adjusting to the weather. I'm not sure I've seen anything saying that there won't be a Pilgrimage this summer but no word yet. They have been pretty busy with some new phones and wireless speakers. And a horn loaded / vented professional cinema sub. I'm sure there are more crazy things in the work.
  2. Trey is working in the Professional speaker division now. I'm not sure what his exact title is... I called him the other day when I stopped for gas across Michigan Road to see what's up. I think he said something to do with sales but I've slept since then and I hadn't slept much then for a few days so was in brain dump mode.. So maybe he's working on getting all Klipsch PA installed in the Klipsch Music Center?
  3. I think I've got 2 large clear single flange I can spare. I've already bought a padded envelope. I'm most interested in the double flange, small and/or large or the medium. PM me if you want 1 or both and address information.
  4. There have been several tenants throughout the years - we've never filled the entire building. Since Voxx owns it now, they moved in their employees who were working out of an office in Carmel (10 minutes from here) a couple years ago, which includes their RCA division. They work out of the second floor of that wing that says RCA. Klipsch occupies all of the bottom floor, half of the 1st, half of the 2nd and all of the 3rd floors. So will RCA get back in the TV biz? Maybe you can get a discount? Maybe they do make TVs? I think they stopped a few years back.
  5. Probably a bit harsh but in all fairness I was following a garbage truck one day. (Note to self - don't follow garbage truck) I'm 1/2 Swedish, one of those Scandinavian peoples who eat Lutfisk which I think translates to rotting fish found on beach. . So what is with RCA logo on building? Voxx filling up whole building with it's brands? Hoping for a Pilgrimage this year but it's late May so might not happen. Y'all probably busy with all the bluetooth speakers and other things including crazy new horn loaded vented cinema subs.
  6. Just some sweetened blackened tea for the drive home. From downtown Indianapolis behind the state capitol to Kokotucky. Bell Choir practice at church. Gotta get going.
  7. Haven't heard anything about anything official.... but there's a bit of a tinge of the smell of rotting fish when I drive by Klipsch HQ. Maybe it's the RCA logo on one end. Maybe it has to do with Professor Thump leaving, gettin' hitched, and movin' west with his beautiful new wife.. And Steve Phillips leaving, long time customer service engineer with vast knowledge of all things Klipsch, including Heritage. Maybe the dadburned Energizer bunny spilled battery acid all over things. There's even a rumor that Trey isn't working in engineering anymore. What's a brewin'? I dunno. Maybe it's just a bad dream. Such as the one where Audiovoxx bought Klipsch and everyone was jumping out of their basement windows.
  8. Maybe, I'll have to see what I've got. I don't use the large ear gels too often so might be able to spare a pair. Even more interested if you're sending the black ear gels that were used earlier.
  9. Jerry's radio is just a cheap throw away am/fm cd and maybe cassette stereo. Not sure what the brand is. Just a standard stick antenna. He's deaf in one ear and isn't overly concerned with sound quality. Just something to listen to. Thanks for the info. Ben
  10. I posted a link in Right This Minute I'm thinking the Jim Jones Revue might be worth a listen.
  11. Jerry my barber, got new ballasts. Noise in radio and reception goes to hell when lights are on. Fine when off. Maybe just noise. RFI? Good source for RFI filter? If that's what is needed, Jerry found one for $29.99. Should be able to find one for less? Thanks in advance.
  12. What!?! No scores lately? I've picked up a few CDs since I've last posted but forgot to post....
  13. $179. Made in US. Might be a great bargain.
  14. Not having the time to read through all these posts as I stumbled upon getting ready to leave work. Did anybody ask one of Marty's original questions about the wire from turntable to phono pre-amp? The signals are very tiny so I think good shielding to keep out interference would be important? I'll have to go find the links in the other thread DeanG posted.... probably won't understand them. I used to think bigger was better but the 6 gauge jumper cables are kind of heavy to hook up to my little t amp.
  15. Other formats? So this surround sound and Dolby hoo ha I've been hearing about does exist? I better get out of my cave more.
  16. I used a Shure M97HE-AH for several years. I think the M97XE replaced the M97HE? The AH being an integrated adjustable headshell. Sounded fine to me but on el cheapo Pioneer PL 100 rubber band drive tt, RS receiver, and 8" / 1" soft dome tweet home built speakers. If they work well with the Linn I'd try Grado. Excellent customer service with my SR60 headphones which I've had and used for a loooong time and have returned for repairs twice. They have cartridges in all price ranges except maybe stop at a piddling grand or so (I haven't checked). Of course they may not work at all well with the Linn. I have a Shure V15 type5MR on my Dual CS5000 and I guess got lucky. I think it was JoeSportster who said he thought that was a very good under $1K turntable and cartridge combination. Both are now probably over 25 years old. Good luck..
  17. I got the Cisco 180 gram vinyl version of Aja a few years back after rave reviews on a thread here somewhere... It is very good. I've listened to it or at least parts of it on CP1's Jubilee rig a few tracks and a side. Michael queued up standard issue CD in his Aha CD player with the LP on his turntable (forget the model and cartridge). Said it was no contast on a track with lots of cymbal. Both sounded great to me and switching back to the CD I about jumped out of my skin due to level mismatches. Michael could tell, on the LP version, that the drum sticks were nylon tipped, not sure on the CD version. I think I could hear a difference but not sure what I was hearing. As far as we could tell no remastering for the LP other than I'm sure cutting a new lacquer. In any case, excellent album. I'll need to get over there and see if we can get a level matched comparison. Dire Straits "Brothers In Arms" CD is also very good for a CD. Many live sound engineers, Michael included, use it to check the sound of their rigs. The remastered CD is even better I'm told. Never really compared.
  18. Nothing spectacular just a few local concert shots Michael Kelsey uber talented guitarist, singer, songwriter Local blues singer / songwriter / guitarist Mike Milligan. Needs some more light but dig that crazy shirt. Dean Schimmelphennig of Kokomo's Shiny Penny - they won the Indianapolis Hard Rock Battle of the Bands a few months back. Rusty of local cover band Rewind. Referred to in pro gear section as Balding Gentleman Sound Guy. Joined the forum, RBroadlick1 to id their PA equipment. Does a pretty good Jimi Hendrix impersonation and has quite an arsenal of guitars. Also sporting Weber t shirt local company that builds guitar speakers. The "Reverend" Payton and his Weber. The Reverend Payton's Big Damn Band Crazy Drum Kit. Yep. The 5 gallon pail is part of the kit. The rest of the band is the rev's wife Breezy on Washboard. Indianapolis' Jennie DeVoe with her guitarist Kokomo's Brett Lodde whose sister I knew in college and visited their home many years before I moved to Kokomo.
  19. Your wife wants to build her a "pair". Didn't know those were DIY... oh, never mind. A pair of subwoofers. Even better Sancho. You've got a keeper. Most wives or girlfriends don't care much about sound quality. These do seem like a good first build one's own subwoofer.
  20. Carl, Awesome work as usual. Looks like a very reasonable sub project capable of great bass at a reasonable price.
  21. The Oldbuckster Update thread where HarryO let us all know how Rob was doing. It was locked in 2008 and pointed to this thread I think for tributes. Rock on Rob!
  22. I don't like Rolling Rock or any beer. Other than root beer or ginger ale. Let's synchronize a toast to the Old Buckster. The bar still open or is Boxx remodeling again? New Forum software doesn't send emails like the old version so may have to turn it on.
  23. Your right Ben, every time I hear a stones song I think of him, especially Wild Horses. Yep. Same here. Put on Hot Rocks. Then as my mp3 player had started before the x10 in da ears backed up. To the last song. Wild Horses. I think I heard a familiar yet unkown voice laughing... RIP Rob.
  24. That was so cool. Yes. He loved that Scott. I hope his family kept it and his Cornwalls... I know they were thinking about selling them. Forget what happened. If sold I hope the bury buyer really appreciates them. Note to self... read before posting. Muh ytping ksills go all ho tell at times
