  1. I am selling a pair of JJ 2A3-40 tubes. Purchased new in Sept., they have at most 10 hours of use. I am probably selling the amp so there is no reason to keep these. $150 shipped OBO
  2. Pioneer PLX-1000, A bit above your budget but this is a great time of year for a sale. Built like a tank, very positive reviews, and sound very good too IMO. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PLX1000--pioneer-dj-plx-1000-professional-turntable?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organicpla
  3. Quick update on the Aegir. After having a few days to listen I have found this to be huge upgrade to my K-horn system. The sound is better than I ever thought possible, imaging is superb. Best amp investment I have made, and no where near the most expensive. A winner for sure for efficient speakers IMO.
  4. In the last few months I have brought home a pair of Heresys, a pair of Corwalls, a single Forte, the Aegir, and just today a Denon tape deck. I think my wife (an extremely tolerant person) might not approve any more fun stuff until after the holidays. I would like to try one however... 🤪
  5. This is my second purchase from Schiit, the first being a Modi dac. The Modi seemed good for a $100 dac, but I passed it along to another forum member. The Aegir however is definitely a keeper and really seems almost tailor made for big efficient horns.
  6. After reading the stellar reviews of the newish Schiit Aegir amplifier I recently acquired one. The amp is a 20 watt class A design they call "Continuity." I finally found the time to get it hooked up today and IMO the sound lives up to the hype. Over the years I have had lots of amps in and out my Klipschorn system and IMO the Aegir really seems to combine the best aspects of tubes and SS. Very detailed but at the same time no harshness, with the mids reminding me of a 300B tube amp I had a few years back but again with better detail. Bass is very good, but perhaps not as authoritative as my Crown D75, but certainly way better than my current 2A3 tube amp. Excellent imaging as well, while listening to some of my favorite demo tracks I could have sworn I was hearing sounds from outside the room. Truly 3 dimensional! Its also quiet with just a very faint hum that can be heard right at the mouth of the mid horn. At only $799 plus shipping, and a 15 day return policy its definitely worth a look.
  7. Mischief managed! Cassette deck coming from Jeeper.
  8. I have a number of cassette tapes I need to transfer over to digital before they are gone forever. I am in search of a decent working cassette deck. Anyone have a working one they want to part with?
  9. I use several Crown amps in my all horn home theater They do as great job. I also have a D-75A currently in my Klipschorn system. Again, a great sounding amp. Like many companies Crown makes a wide variety/quality of products. The D-75A is a good one. Don't let snotty generalized comments stop you from trying one.
  10. I have a couple of pairs I am willing to part with. Shoot me a PM
  11. Hate to say it but all upgrades around here eventually lead to getting a K402 horn sitting on top of a Jubilee, MWM, or quarter pie bass bin. That's the best. K-horns are great. I would enjoy them as they are and if you feel the need to go a step farther proceed as above. BTW my K-horns are highly modified so... (but I also have quarter pies).
  12. Just a word of caution about Accessories4Less customer service. I have purchased several items from them over the years and always had a positive experience, except one time. I purchased an expensive Yamaha integrated from them and it would enter protective shut down after a couple of minutes of play. The customer service guy at Accessories4Less tried to tell me that it was because my Klipschorns were so hard to drive. I.E. he really didn't know squat about Klipsch speakers. You should get some good advice here however. For $500 I would recommend finding a used Integra DHC-80.3 pre/pro ($350?) and combine that with a Crown D-75A amp ($100?). I use that combo currently with my Klischorns and it sounds great, has good room correction, and will decode SACDs allowing you to hook a cheap Sony Blu-ray player into it to act as transport. It also has a phono input, though I have never used it since I have a nice tube phono preamp.
  13. Try Art's Stereo and TV repair. He is in Blue Ash and seems both honest and competent. He works out of his house. If he can't do something (or doesn't think its worth doing) he will tell you. He has worked on a couple of my 70s vintage Yamaha amps, and did a simple repair on one of my tube amps. Didn't seem charge much either. (513) 745-9222
  14. I would like to know the same. I picked up the same model in the recent Klipsch refurb sale (only $194 shipped). I was a bit surprised that there was no cable input. I found and ordered a used Klipsch wisa unit for a decent price but a cable would be preferable to me.
  15. Asking price seems a bit high ($2,800) but condition looks great! https://dayton.craigslist.org/ele/d/tipp-city-klipsch-belle-loudspeakers/7103459474.html

  17. I have several Crown D-75As in my basement system, and just dropped a spare D-45 into my Klipschorn system this week. They really do sound great, and as Chris A mentioned, they are readily available and cheap.
  18. If you don't have to have the latest model there are lots of good buys in the used market. I would suggest finding a 3-4 year old Integra unit. The depreciation on this stuff is ridiculous. I just picked up a second DHC-80.3, a $2,500 processor when new 4-5 years ago, for $300. A very good preamp with excellent DACs, also decodes SACDs so you can turn a cheap Sony Blu-ray player into an outstanding SACD player. I am sure your Denon is still a nice unit, but multi channel has come a long ways in the last decade.
  19. https://dayton.craigslist.org/for/d/dayton-original-klipsch-forte-speaker/7081146669.html Super tempted but I have absolutely no use for it. Great price
  20. Highly recommend a Prius. I have a 2014 (daughter"s car) that I bought new. Over 100,000 miles, zero problems, even still has original brakes (regen braking really helps them last). 50 mpg year round average in Ohio. Holds a lot of stuff too. However, drives like a Prius (SLOW), but I drive a WRX.
  21. Thanks for the response. The tube amp, a BEZ T3A-3, puts out around 8 watts (?), the Crown D-75 puts out 55 watts. So not as big a difference as your setup. I am rethinking using a passive crossover, and could use an Ashly crossover scavenged from my basement HT. That would allow me to time align as well as do so room correction.
  22. I am acquiring a 2A3 tube amp from Joessportster and have been playing around with some ideas of how to use it. I have a spare pair of Crites crossovers that I could modify to allow me to bi-amp. The thought is to use a spare Crown D-75 on the bass bins, and allow the 2A3 tube amp to do its thing on the mids and tweeters. Anyone have any experience doing this? Is there an issue because of the wide difference in power between the two amps (i.e. uneven volume control)? I know that using an active crossover might have a better result, but I am trying to keep this system simple and use parts I have on hand.
  23. I built a tuba table to go with my La Scalas (now gone), and it now works with my KG4 living room HT. I have two Cinema F20 subs (which is very similar to the Tuba HT) in my basement system. I really like the smaller tuba table, but if you have room for the bigger sub you will not regret it. Your system and needs may change over time and the bigger sub will always have that extra low end and a bigger sound as well.
