  1. bummer dude. Hope you find something soon.
  2. My son's Mesa Boogie Mark III (I think that's it) has an EVM-12L exactly like the ones I have. Mesa didn't introduce those until the mid '80s if I remember correctly. One of the Mark III series in the late '90s has the same EV, not the re-release version. I thought Mesa were one of the ones that made their own speakers, well at least I am glad to see they used a decent speaker. Wait a min, my buddy's mesa uses cleations. Maybe like some they used different speakers for different cabs. This is another reason why I get sucked into the madness for which Micheal calls it(hope I spelled his name right). But the mystery of the history and what nots so darn interesting.
  3. If Im not mistaken EV made the evm-12l back in the 60s or 70s, thats only coming from an ev dealer that think he knows the intier history of EV, but the newer ones are reproduction. I can get you used ones(maybe they are new)for around 200.00 or i Can get you older ones like that which is new old stock for around 300.00. Long story of Zach Wylde wanting those back in production for his set up. nick nice set up by the way would love to get a chance to hear something like this.
  4. Welcome, theres alot of people around here that can help with just about anything. It seems theres no dumb questions around here, you can ask almost anything and everybody around is nice enough to put in their input. Have fun. nick
  5. What kind of different sound do you get with the ported box, did Klipsch make these from factory or is this more of a diyer. Also is the bottom opening for the woofer access. nick
  6. something new to me whats AK fest, is there one in the Omaha are thanks Nick
  7. I've never baughten tubes but found them at local guitar repair shops, also heres a link i've found just shopping around on line which is located here in omaha,ne www.surplussales.com
  8. Thanks Thebes. Now I feel up to speed.
  9. so whats with the 3 watts per a channel seems like some single stage tube amps(did i say that right), like the bottlehead ones are only 3 watts or so per a channel. This really interest me in wanting to try this. I have found some diy pages to build some of these, which i would really like to do for a couple of reason1. being I like building things like this and 2nd I don't have the money to drop several hundred dollars or a couple hundred right off the bat for the moment. So if there is a good 3 watt (or something around that)tubed mono block out that is a good start for a beginner diyer on tubed amps please let me know. Also I like how the wooden ones with the metal tops look with the glowing tubes think it would be neat see a pair of these lighting up. this is one of the reason I've tried to get into mcintoshs and dynacos in the past (which I am still working on cause i want to try everything). but yea sorry for hi jacking the thread for a moment. But any help would be appreciated. nick
  10. nice stand is your sub in the cab on the left. has a nice contemp metro look.
  11. who needs a back door. Give me a lazy boy, 6 pack of fine beers, some good tunes, and of coarse turn it up.
  12. That almost brings a tear to eye. Thats got to be one of the best parts. Nice gear too.
  13. Thats great Gary. Were you going for more of a restoration or trying to improve anything. Looks like a great pair of amps this is the route i'de like to try one day. nick
  14. man i know this is a really old thread but if wasn't for this forum i would have spent some money on something i wouldn't have been happier with, also saved another thread, and peoples time. Man its great alls I had to do was type in carver amps in 2 channel and got my answer. thanks guys for years on knowledge and research i don't have to do now i can find out whats got bad reviews around here and be the judge of myself of the good stuff. nick
  15. Being still new around these parts, and only coming across the mentioned twins in this thread and maybe briefly in others. I am still confused, maybe to personal to talk about. But are they wives two twin sisters that needed to share, something along those lines. If so man am i jealous.
  16. If all drivers are in phase, the first part of a wave form (let's just say one cycle) is positive and will make all the different diaphragms/speaker cones, etc. move toward you. The second half goes negative and will pull the different diaphragms/speaker cones, etc., away from you. now i know what your talking about the same as on my subwoofer 0 or 180. sometimes i think you all talking technical stuff i dont understand not this time, hahaha. I dont know were i am going with this hope i didn't get of subject.
  17. What did you say i cant hear. Wait I am reading this, aren't I.
  18. what do you mean by driving to hard(my frequancy turned down to low or my level turned up to much). I have a Harman/Kardon avr 225 with sub preout so could i have the sub level on the reciever to high thanks nick
  19. freaking beautiful, love the unity of the countries, culture,etc.. Amazing how so many people can come together on something so simple of as song, and agree on so many similarities but yet still be at war with one another. Not saying these countries are. But thanks again for sharing wife and I really appreciated it. thanks again duder hope I didn't make a peace, love, happiness thing out of it.
  20. I found a near by bag on a chest of mine some what near the woofer so it could possibly be, I removed the bag and watch a war movie last night and did not notice it. So hopefully that was the problem if it returns, what can I do about the spider, diaphragm if the problem returns. thanks for your help nick
  21. so lately I've been experiencing this weird fluttery noise from my sub I have a KSW-12, this only happens what seems to be low frequency's in movies such as explosions, and all the good stuff. Doesn't do it during music so thats why I think its probably below the 38hz line. I haven't cracked it open yet, just wondering if theres anything I could save time with. I have moved stuff around making sure theres no bags or anything externally could be causing this so I don't think thats the problem. But who knows. thanks for input nick
  22. what does ss stand for. Just trying to learn more about tube amps. thanks nick
  23. I couldn't agree more with this, I like the idea of a Klipsch store. I bet there are lots of people out there that would be willing to do this I know one of my home stores here in Omaha, has Klipsch as one of there biggest sellers. One of my biggest problems is the fact that I have to travel to about 2-3 different stores just to check out more than one line of Klipsch products, not to mention not even be able to hear all of them such as Palladium, Heritage, etc... Now from what I understand these are all made to order so I could see why not every store carrys them but its hard to find any that do.
  24. I just tell her its broken stuff that a guy at work gave me. He said if i can fix it i can have. I dont know hom many times this will work!!!!
  25. Im intreaged, i dont know if i spelled that right. Great knowledge if i ever pick up a pair of horns and what does in phase mean. And not to change the subject but how do you quote another post not just the last. duder or nick which ever you all perfer to call me.
