  1. If you are selling your Lascalas for under $100, I will come get them, no demo needed.
  2. Having to say goodbye to two family pets was one of the hardest things I have had to deal with, i know the feeling, sorry for your loss.
  3. I haven't had any bad experiences here on the forum, but trying to sell on Marketplace is terrible.
  4. If you head over to the "ask the historian " sub forum you can validate the following information. LS=Lascala BR= Birch Raw The n in the serial number indicates 1975 Hope this helps.
  5. Sorry to hear this, my condolences to you and his family.
  6. I ran MC2505 and MC2100 with Heresys and Cornwalls. One of my favorite sounds and hard to beat for SS. I only sold them to fund my projects. I opt for either Parasound or Crown, preferably Parasound as they are class A/AB and are close to the McIntosh sound. If funds are ever available, I'd like to try the MC7106 on my bi amped system. I currently run a Hypex Fushion on that system, but am working to get back to Parasound as I currently have an HCA-750A, but just purchased an HCA-1000a. Mcintosh and Klipsch are two iconic brands that pair well together. If I had money, I'd love to run some of the MC with the new Jubilees, but that might just be a pipe dream.
  7. I think its odd that both units have failed. Hopefully its simple fix. Sign up at Hifiengine as it appears they may have a schematic. hfe_denon_poa-6600_schematic.pdf https://www.hifiengine.com/manual_library/denon/poa-6600.shtml
  8. Good to see you again, no direct experience with those amps, but the power should provide some good overhead. There can some benefit to balanced, as OO1 has mentioned, there may be less noise, in my experience that's only over longer runs. Also in my experience, going balanced usually provides more output voltage to the amplifier allowing it to perform at its full potential (not sure if that is the correct terminology or if it even matters with those amps).
  9. In an attempt to upgrade my compression drivers, I am putting a feeler out there to see if there is any interest in this setup. I have a pair of BMS 4590 coaxial compression drivers and a pair of Hypex Fusion FA123 plate amplifiers. All of have been used on my Frankenstein (not Richieb's Frankenstein) speakers without any issues. I have the original boxes for the Hypex plate amps but will need to find a suitable box for the drivers. Asking $1200.00 plus shipping as a complete setup. Can sell separately, but not until I have a buyer for each component. Paypal F&F preferred but can work something out if another route is needed. Cash is king if interested in picking up locally in Omaha NE. Please let me know if you have any questions. Pictures and links to stock photos, will take photos of actual components this weekend. https://www.bmsspeakers.com/index.php-110.html?id=bms_4590 https://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/speaker-amps/hypex-fusionamp-fa123/ Hypex-FA123
  10. I think that's well said, but I also think (and not speaking for him) that Bubo may want to know what the majority thinks...maybe not. I always have the what if, then I ask the question. It always comes down to personal preference. That being said, I am pretty happy with my Schiit Modi and Raspberry PI DAC+ when playing back from ROON to both my Marantz SR5015 and AV7704.
  11. Sorry to hear this, best wishes for a speedy recovery. I knew another dude that had a form of cancer after he was taking testosterone supplements, but I think his were illegal. Anyway, good point on talking to the doctor first and making sure you do or don't need something.
  12. I haven't watched all of either of them but got a jest of his personality. It did seem like he started to open up about them in the second video. His Fable or Moral he was looking for was quite obvious...yeah read the manual dummy, this can alleviate a lot of warranty repairs. I can see being mad at poor quality terminal stirps, none of mine on my B stock Cornwall IVS are that way. So you know what I'd do...put in a warranty claim. I'm not wondering if these are B stock with no warranty and he's mad that they aren't a stock quality?
  13. as bad as he bad mouthed these, I would think he would give them away for pennies on the dollar.
  14. Me as well, kind of thought the same thing.
  15. Please update the title to reflect that they are sold.
  16. Not saying this is accurate, but with the closed backs, do they technically need to be "shoved" in the corners? It appears that they are in corners, just not shoved in. The insulation should be acting similarly to sound treatments, some rooms even have just fabric walls with insulation for sound purposes. Not saying this is all correct, but I can see the therory behind it. Yes, the guy seems to be a nut job.
  17. Someone already leaving bad reviews. Maybe someone from SVS?
  18. Sonds like a fun project, I bet those Crowns with Heresy's are going to sound great.
  19. I hated sony for years after discman. Fast forward 10 plus years and a 40" Bravia hung on my wall. 4-5 years out of warranty and they send a tech over to inspect for potential safety issue at no cost and that's all I buy from this point. I've got 2-3 Bravia's, none are oled as it's out of my price range, but right up there for best before you get into oled, and no complaints.
  20. Funny you say that, the sales rep referred to this as if Fender and Rickenbacaker had a baby.
  21. I asked about chromebook, and it had to do with ease of google sheets. I never mind using sheets on windows based, so I don't know what her issues are.
  22. Two different animals. I'd say Heresy IVs, no need to "upgrade", and small enough to maneuver. If you really desire low end do to music preference and room size, you can add a table tuba in either form factor for great low end response. Or check out the new reference subs from Klipsch.
  23. Very informational, I've always wanted to know the process of making tubes. Let me say that is one process, I wonder how unsafe some of it was. Thanks for sharing.
  24. My son has been learning how to play bass and has been taking lessons for a few months now. Since I will never pass up the opportunity to purchase musical instruments, when he asked for his own bass for his birthday, I figured why not. We went to Guitar Center a week or so ago where he tried a few lower end models that were within our budget. Unfortunately, the one he liked was out of our budget, which was a black and white Jackson X series concert bass. Today I went in to pick up one that he was settled on and right as I walked in was the X series on clearance for half the price. Sales rep: Would you like to try that out? Me: No not today my good man, I'm feeling saucy, I think I'm going to buy it.
