  1. But did they get their weed back?
  2. But if that Krispy Kreme is smart, they will open up their own weed store adjoining the doughnut shop.........................................can you imagine how many of those suckers you could eat if you were really stoned with the munchies!
  3. How about this: http://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/ONKTXNR818/Onkyo-TX-NR818-7.2-Ch-THX-Certified-Network-A/V-Receiver/1.html You would be hard pressed to find a better more feature laden AVR for that price. Just about all the bells and whistles and Audyssey's top MultEQ XT32. OOOOPS, sold out. Give them a call and see if they will be getting anymore soon. Try other websites also. Bill Would have to agree with that being a lot of bank for the buck. Amazon had the 809 for $500 last week which was a crazy deal, but it's back up at the moment.
  4. The laughing or the crunching from the potato chips would probably scare them away before you could get a shot off. Or them talking to you might freak you out.
  5. You have to be kidding me, they blanked out the word Queen (but replace the n with an R) OK great and powerful moderators of the forum, that could be pushing the "politically correct" envelope just a bit.
  6. Sorry, but if that's the sub in the picture that willand posted, you should hide that queer lookin thing if you get it. Crap, no more A&E appearances for me after using the "Q" word. Seriously, the only opinion that matters is yours regarding which is better, so I really wouldn't listen to anyone or anything with regards to it being a good move or not, just go with what you think; heck you might think that odd looking sub is cool! LOL
  7. Somehow I don't think a pipe and a gun go together anymore than a bottle of whiskey and a gun, unless you were thinking drowning the deer with a water gun. After giving that a little more thought, I can't imagine wanting to shoot anyone or anything when stoned, but I still don't think it would be a safe combination so how about stuffing the freezer first and then go get smoked up and enjoy nature.
  8. Looks to me like you need to use it and level up that speaker.
  9. I really don't think you need to pay someone to figure out your lighting once you are set on the final room layout and a simple list of how and what you may use sections or the entire room for. Once you have that done, including the list, it's really a matter of first deciding what type of lighting you like and want to purchase because you can invest a lot of money in led's but in the long run they're great but you have to look at the different spectrums that are available because they will vary greatly. I'm sure you'll get plenty of assistance right here for free so just fire away with questions. One of the other things you need to decide upfront is which zones you want to be able to dim because it will affect your selections.
  10. No Audyssey, I'd pass. I came across some reviews and wasn't really impressed but I've got to pull the trigger on something since the 805 is having some HDMI switching issues and I want to move that out of the HT system and get a real network receiver or pre pro, it's just difficult for me to pull the trigger since I'm looking for a deal all the time and not willing to drop $1500-$2,000 because I can't believe that's necessary to get a unit that has good room eq (audyssey) and great dac's and video processing that I can network in with the tower I just built. I think I should have pulled the trigger on the 809 at $500 but that's my fault for thinking I could score something better for less.
  11. Great advice; looking at your initial plan with a bar area and HT area I would assume that the room will get used for more than just watching movies so the more zones and specific task lighting the better. I have 6 different light switches in my kitchen and they get used in different combinations all the time. If you go with cans you should get the ones listed for insulated spaces so you have options to quiet them down if they do rattle or should I say when they rattle.
  12. I've been looking at this also but the "all sales are final" and from what I see there's no remote, I'm just not sure when comparing it to the Marantz AV7005 ($830) or an Onkyo TX NR809 ($500-$700). The Marantz and the Onkyo have a track record but I can't really find much on the Sherbourn.

    Duratex?

+1 and you should really seal all sides and ends or it will not last, just go look at decks that are only sealed and stained on the top, in a few years the wood will blow itself apart as the moisture levels change in the wood, but you will have to determine what your time and effort is worth with regards to protecting the investment for the long haul. Isn't it time for some pictures?
  14. Carl, I'll swap ya buddy, I will even throw in the amp for free!!! Rog Pics? LMAO!!! Glad I wasn't drinking coffee!!! I was..........................thanks! FYI, I know the MIL rule regarding looks and disposition so I'll still be able to look at Denise years down the road, I'll just have to have a box of ear plugs hanging on the wall when she's telling me the same story for the 5th time, but that's happening already and I just call her Bonnie every time she does it.
  15. Looks like a fun project! What are you doing with the door that will connect the room to the rest of the home? This would seem to be your biggest concern for sound transmission. I remember doing a commercial project a long time ago that we used a steel door and drilled it out and filled it with sand and it did wonders for stopping the sound, but not practical for your house.

    Duratex?

Sorry but I wouldn't do it without primer such as Zinsser Bulls Eye 123. It's going to cost you a few bucks and 15 minutes to make sure you have great adhesion everywhere and it's not like you're priming a piano because you'll be applying texture over it. I just finished doing my Cornwalls (was stained birch and now black) and a set of KP250's and 0 problems applying paint after scuffing, bondo, and primer. I have Duratex coming to put on 3 subs and though I'll probably shoot it with a hopper gun, I'm still doing the exact same process and they will be primed first.........................but that's just me. Let us know how it turns out.
  17. I'm curious after reading the article (being a total novice) what Dean, Al, Bob and others think regarding the type of crossover that should be used to get the most accurate reproduction of sound. Seems like he believed if it couldn't be done with a first order crossover then it really couldn't be done properly, or am I misunderstanding something? I'm not trying to offend anyone, but trying to digest the information, which seems to go against the various extreme slope networks that are being used. Someone break out the box of crayons so I can grasp this correctly.

I was shocked when I opened up my 5 year old Acer to change out the drive to a solid state, there was nothing to clean! I was prepared for a mess but it looked new and it got run really hard for 4 years.
  20. Future mother in law staying over. Whooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaa!
  21. Where are you and what do you want for it? Welcome to the forum!
  22. These look like they're still available. I do need a set of computer speakers.
  23. Paid 22 but it was still worth it. I really enjoyed this movie.
  24. Really measures about 1 7/16 so 3/8 is probably going to be a bit sloppy so better a little tight.
