  1. Even from my undoubtedly biased Catholic view, it is a beautiful piece, and meant to glorify God! Nice work!
  2. Where she is from is irrelevant. Without giving him any slack, I'm just thinknig that we are all so close to making the same kind of mistake.
  3. I was in China when the first was released in the theaters here. I got the DVD for $2... The new one was done by a different director, and is really getting nailed for all the sex jokes, language and bad use of timing/flow of the scenes.
  4. I'm thinking that isn't necessarily a bad thing...
  5. B&H Photo Video has one M3 body for sale at $800. No lens. They were introduced in 1954. A friend of mine had an M1, and it was a superb camera. When I visited Hong Kong a couple years ago, there was a store in the ferry terminal that was full of Nikons and Leicas. I almost wet my pants. The prices weren't that bad, but still more than I had on me.
  6. My wife and I had used verizon for years (she's been deceased for 3 1/2 years now), but I decided a couple of years ago to switch to AT&T, mainly because they use GSM technology instead of CDMA. They told me they would charge me $150 perline to cancel my contract. I was pi$$ed, for sure. I went ahead and waited until I could dump them.... bye bye! I wanted a GSM carrier so I could more easily travel overseas and have phone service on my own phone. With GSM, I get a local carrier SIM card for whatever country I am in. It is way cheaper than paying the $3 a minute AT&T would charge. To do that, I purchased my own unlocked phone. I already had the phone, and used it on AT&T's Go Phone plan, which is a pay as you go plan. It works out pretty well.I also have a much better signal at my work place. I HATE Verizon, but they all get you one way or another. Bruce
  7. Welcome to the forum! Are those horns made of heavy paper or are they a sheet metal fabrication? You could store them, in any case, and replace with a newer Altec horn that would match the drivers. The woofers can be had for around $125 each, give or take a little. Yes, the crossover is what splits the amp output into the frequencies for the woofer and tweeter (bass and treble). Bruce
  8. The Stereophile crew is another matter entirely. I am thinking more of the regular working studio engineers, techs and musicians. Most aren't trying to recreate a natural space, though. They are just creating their own sound field and you are stuck with it. Bruce
  9. You just aren't right... []Nice score, Cornman, Bruce
  10. I don't know any musicians or engineers who start their day saying "Let's make a crappy album." They end up dealing with time/buget constraints, all the vagaries of band musician realtionships and abilities. Also, they are submerged in all the atmosphere and equipment theyhave grown to love and hate.
  11. Once the muscles start firming up and building, the muscle mass weighs a lot more. With some stress last week and the heat, I dropped 5 lbs. If I could stay here at 150 and get more strength, I would love it, as would my gf. []
  12. These guys may have something... totally P2P. They're in Nova Scotia http://www.saratogaoceanic.com/index.php They do a subcription based service...
  13. It may have been "Better Living Through Chemistry...", or the GF. She helps a lot. [:#]
  14. It was taken in Feb. of 2007, as I was with my gf in the Philippines, while she was on winter break from her job in China.
  15. Wow, JC, I just turned 60 last Thursday...[:|] And it's GREAT! Congratulations on the B-day with friends to hang out with you.
  16. All of the third party stuff... skype, yahoo messenger, AIM, and others only use the central system for establishing the contact. Once that is made, you are conntected directly to the one you are messinging. So you have a stream for ads from their server, video and audio streams to each other and the text connection. I've been trying to find someone with code to allow connections straight another computer. Totally peer to peer chatting.
  17. We have copperheads and water moccasins around here. It's great to carry in the woods when you go for a hike. Stomping your feet can make them move away too, but you just never know.
  18. Phil Keaggy is getting close. Consumate guitarist! "Lights of Madrid" is my favorite instrumental album...
  19. A good friend of mine on Lookout Mountain has a huge master bedroom, witha high pitched roof. All open, and they used tension bars on the beams. It looks far more open than having beams going across the room.Bruce
  20. I think you would need Sound Forge or CD Architect to do that. You can highlight each song, and copy it to a new track, save it and name it... A little tedious, but doable. Bruce
  21. I'll get hit for this, but I think the Chorus IIs sound better than the Corns, and they fit into rooms a LOT better. The bass seems tighter, and the overall presentation is great.
  22. That would have made it MOST interesting...[:#]
  23. That's what I am thinking, but he might have paid a price for it....
  24. Years ago... early '70s, I bought an ST-120 and and ST-70 from a friend of mine. He had built both. Around 1978 I sold the SS ST-120 to a guy I worked with. He was happy (until his cat took a leak on it). I am happier that I still have my ST-70. [] Bruce
  25. They don't get no respect! A friend of mine has some Tangent 400s. Same components as the Heresy II, including the HII crossover (labeled as such, too). Cabinet is not as well made, but he got these at a steal of a price. They go lower than the HIIs... I keep saying I will build some Tangent cabs and move my drivers over to them. Some of the Tangents aren't as good, but I think there was just too much competition within the brand. Bruce
