  1. Sweet, sounds like a great time with some cool gear.
  2. If you are careful when you remove the passive the gasket can be reused. Remove all of the screws holding the passive to the speaker cabinet. You will need to lift the passive driver out of the cabinet. To do this, use a flat screw driver and place it very carefully between the bottom rim of the metal passive basket near one of the screw holes. With a wash cloth folded under the screw driver (use it like a wedge to protect the cabinet) carefully pry up. The passive basket should release with out much force. Remove the passive, and then carefully remove the gasket either from the cabinet or the passive. You are now on the slippery slope in search of the perfect sound. Welcome to the madness. Good Luck and enjoy.
  3. There is a lot of ugly boom there.
  4. Don't see Chorus in walnut that often.
  5. Arash, After checking this thread for replies, I reread my reply to you and I realize how harsh and sharp my response was. If I offended you I apologize. Too much Makers in the Lounge area on Friday night. All of the networks I have are older builds, using Solen capacitors. After checking ALK's site I see he has moved away from this brand of capacitor. Without going to the expense of replacing the caps with the current brand in use, I was curious if others had tried bypassing the Solen capacitors.
  6. Arash, I own 6 different sets of ALK networks, 4 sets Al built and 2 sets I built from his kits. I know the quality of the sound and builds from him. I am just asking if anyone has tried it and what the results have been.
  7. Welcome to the forum. Take some time an listen to the set-up you have. You can always make changes in time. For now just sit back, listen and enjoy.
  8. I would like to get some feedback from members who have installed bypass capacitors on ALK networks and the differences (if any) were heard.
  9. Fired up a Fuente and poured some Makers, here's to you BOXX.
  10. Early start also. Just lit up a Fuente and poured some Makers. Here's to you Boxx.

  13. Alex, deeply sorry for the loss of your father and friend. I always enjoyed reading his writings on the forum. He will be missed. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. Here's to you Boxx. :emotion-22:
  14. I was going through all of the "stuff" I have accumulated over the years and found the original crossover network boards for my Forte II. I had replaced the Klipsch networks with ALK networks a few years back. I have two pairs of Forte II, one from October 1989, WO with brown heather grill cloth and a second pair from June 1992, WO with #19 black grill cloth. I took a good look at the network circuit boards and discovered and the early network board has the tweeter in a "normal" connection configuration and the newer network board has the tweeter in reverse connection configuration. Both boards are etched with the same board number KSC 101. I recall some forum conversation a while back when the network schematic list was being put together, there was an issue with the Forte II network schematic and it was redrawn by one of the forum members. Now I am thinking the schematic is was correct for the early production of the Forte II. Just curious, does anyone know when the network was changed?
  15. That would make one nice matching surround system.
  16. Never see a pair of Forte II at that price around here.
  17. Your work is amazing. Happy New Year!
  18. Try Copeland's Fanfare for the Common Man. The timpani are awesome in this piece and it will show off he bass capabilities of the Forte II. Of course there are other music selections but I like the way the brass and percussion are used in this piece.
