  1. Audio on craigslist is dead at my location i hope for just the moment. I have bought a lot of nib stuff including nib klipsch. My favorite stuff is without doubt off craigslist. Probably my favorite clist deal is one of my bgw750c's i bought 2 miles from my house for $30. It was serviced and plug and play near mint and comparing it to the modern 750g that was over $2000 when new and can still be built special order today for $3000 the 750c is over 60lbs of great power for my dual radian rcs118 subwoofer system.
  2. We should create a northern indiana audio group/association. There is a southern michigan audio group that hold more than annual meetups. Just seems to be a huge group up around here that could conglomerate very well. EDIT:or maybe not lol
  3. I love el34's. I have a collection including copper based models. Its purely subjective to what el34 will work best for 1 your amp, 2 your preference in sound. In my trials and not as long as some although for the few years in tube gear even some of the cheapest chinese tubes provide music nirvana. Considering imo with the range of 34's i have burnt in and tested i would try some that are cheap and new on ebay. I have some gold lions that most of my local friends consider to be choice. My current power 34s are a chinese model that are best to my liking to this point in time. They were $94 shipped directly from an online chinese shop. I will say as good as my choice chinese power glass is i do not know how long they will last but for under $100 i have another quad bought that are ready to burn in once the currents being used drop. I wouldnt bother the smaller pre tubes unless they seem to have too much noise. My current tube setup is 100% quiet when music is on pause. With the pre tubes the number 1 tube in the series is the most important to identify noise. If you hear noise to identify if its from your pre pull the number 1 pre tube and if your setup goes quiet then you should replace them. edit:I find it to be a fact that vintage amps respond to nos tubes better than new stock or re issues. As well as with modern tube amps respond best with new up to date tubes or current re productions. Some may find their preference otherwise. The best vacuum tube for anything and anyone is purely subjective. Just have fun and enjoy burning tubes in and auditioning any or all at your leisure. Just keep an eye on bias depending on what type of arrangement you may try. Dont stress just be careful. I have burnt in and tested many with a certain amp i use and its bias stands so firm i check it at about heck sometimes every 200hours of use. edit again:Ebay will yield great results with tubes. Also parts express is a very nice place to find many variations of the el34/el34b
  4. Wow! this is awsome. Your close to me. I hope you hate them. Im ready to buy when you are ready just hit me up. I cant take the jealousy anymore. my most sincere regards edit:im a 3rd shifter here on the forum but can pick them up seriously anytime, night or day
  5. its an 1.37 hours long but put some heaphones on and turn them up loud its sweet! heres the link, Mach1 just posted it a couple weeks ago. the guy that made the movies a member hear. 5 star film https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/149062-klipsch-fan-visits-klipsch-factory/
  6. I will be honest on here again. Thats why i sold my 20+ year family business. I had an old guy that couldnt write. I filled his whole check out and he also asked me to sign his name. He had a huge farm. His wife did all the signing(as do all farmers i know, very true) and writing he was just the working man on the land. It was too much. Everybody with a shop ripping everybody off and i just couldnt do it. I actually had an Ohio car dealer license into my mid 20's. I knew everything was spot on with figures of the current features&values at the time. As time went on I morally broke down and had other interests. I'v been through a lot lol i like a very simple life nowadays. Money is not a drive for me whatsoever. Relaxation is my only priority. Just wish i could build a tube amp lol and complete a pair of speakers on my own start to finish. thats my goal in life lol
  7. To me this is good stuff. Good information i can see implementing in the future. Theres a lot of history to learn. Hate to lose any history tied to klipsch...Thank you for your time edit:everytime i look at them just gets me more and more interested. i wonder what pwk thought of them if he ever came across them. surely he had id assume
  8. Thats really cool. Anytime to share with young people in particular a house of worship is so very good. I must mention while reading your blog/s I too felt the wealth of the Lord through many emotions I had never experienced in the order with which you directed me. God Bless you and yours. Best wishes and thank you for sharing.
  9. I surely agree. If they were closer I would contact them. I'll be honest though there was a fellow with a full reference klipsch system on craigslist locally with klipsch sub 10 included asking for $125 for 5.1 total system, im not kidding 1 bit. I called him and let him know they were more valuable. He looked on the internet and could not believe what he had was worth about $2k used. I did give him $500 and he was happy. True story
  10. I couldnt bump that thread so i pm'd the link to you. great video. maybe too good lol
  11. There is the KMC(?) line of speakers that are like by some here, that have heard them. They may be military, but dicey on recall. Some info in archives or even now. So brought that up to say, it has to be qualified as, some may have been local(?) PX, and wherever. Have not delved into it here actually as not a everyday dicussion. The KMC, I wonder about. I am not the first by far to have spoken on the line T line. So, needs more info... I sent a pm detailing what else iv found. Im familiar with the px&over sea military klipsch that were also very, very popular at the time of the original release of the 1st tangent i believe to be the tangent 80...also on that 89 video it provides insight to the tangent engineer who went to jbl if im not mistaken shortly after he and paul were at arms with each other...the 5000 the way i see it was released about a year after klipsch let him go....the 500 series as well as far as i can find thus far. Tangents are a large mystery to say the least edit:topy city wrote to fast
  12. So you are telling me the 5000 was sold overseas only?
  13. So as i take it these are a patented klipsch derived "cornscala" and the very first at that. In my opinion it is a great very technical looking design compared to the late cornscala versions not implementing thee folded horn. That is an extremely great example to redesign and turn the current cornscalas models being built today. Or at least include another build option with the low frequency folded horn design. Of course unless one prefers a direct radiating low frequency woofer, which i'm on the fence with. I appreciate anymore information anybody can provide to learn more about this speaker....cheers
  14. Great thread, well put together(thread and sub system)...Been following and the way you said this would take months possibly til you got it finished. Glad it was fast....nicely done...Personally i'v used countless powered subs including the fathom 13 and still have a 110 i cant wait to see after a while of adjusting what your final thoughts are on this setup. Im jealous i only got 2 18" radians but no room for more in the house. In my next home im looking to possibly follow your exact sub setup. cheers and thanks for sharing.
  15. Looks great. Iv never heard vrds yet they are the standard. Never seen them with the dark finish. Looks great!

  19. a pleasure to meet you johnny 5! Im a newbie compared to you. klipsch is #1.
  20. ooooooh and there was a bad word in there. I do appreciate your comment as well. Iv been killing it on netflix(great point)just listening to my 3d whatever 50"vizio. I used to tune it to 2ch if was in 2ch or 5.1 if was in 5.1 format on netflix. I have 2 sweet actually 3 darn good theaters in 1 room and a single theater in the wifes room she normally uses some audio technica cans that were gifted to her and shes got some sweet powered monitors but she uses blu ray almost all the time lol sounds like you only need worry about choice spirits minermark
  21. you nailed it. my thought for a few months although never being to a gathering seems the old days need to re occur is audiovox a bad brother edit:on a great note i only wish i was there. need more gatherings!
  22. Boxx you put me in tears laughing lol your great. In my opinion and my wife has grown our blur ray collection like something that grows fast iv never seen nothing like it, may be why im broke lol anyhow imo you aint missing anything. im serious here. although im into speakers more than theater and have a couple bdp's that cost over$600 1 was used i dont find blurays that great. little old fashion maybe yet again i still use a cheapo vcr(mostly for classic porn JUST KIDDIN LOL)sometimes(haha) but its not even hooked up to nothing for quite a while...I just grad dvds even if theres a blu ray of the same film next to it. I see blu ray and sure its better quality no matter what your watching tho its a new money maker for the foreign countrys to make more cash with new versions and updates every 6 months. half my gear has hdmi i still prefer rca or optical for digital programming due to preference in sound quality. its not too surprising to see some of the best killer systems iv seen with a cheap dynex tv on the wall let alone the 20 inch floor tube tv with his mcintosh gear sitting on top of it. This is my take on it all and could go on and on but it just dont make 1 difference to me dvd to bluray. Save your money and by dvds cheap at the pawn shop. 1 day tho the dvd will be obsolete. I swore i'd never give up tape cassetes today i honestly have hundreds of good cd's i havent even looked at yet let alone at least 1000's of tracks on my ipod classic 160mb that is in some bundle of wire i dont figure on finding maybe ever..so sounds like your an audio person like myself even tho theres 2 great theaters in my home. 2 ch please, even with movies
  23. Hey i like that heresy. If it sits for a bit for the ebay price i will be there just may take a few months. Serious buyer here tho edit so its understandable:I am interested if you were in ft wayne indiana i would be there within 30 minutes to pick it up. I like the $250 ebay price unless it sells cheers. either way the best of luck with the sale. if it sits for a while i will be in Plainfield IL 60585 to grab it cash and carry by july 2014
