  1. I had the DH1As from when I had my JBL2360As... I kept them when I decided to go the MEH route. To be honest I am not even sure now that I can hear high enough to warrant a super tweeter. I say this because I currently have some RP160Ms, and everyone says that have a rising top end... I do not hear a bright hi end at all. When we start to tune the MEHs, I plan on also running the RP160Ms with REW also to see if it is me or not. When we ran the EV DH1As we ran a 12db shelf to get the highs up in a fully treated HT. 2. We are going to try them as a 2 way first, and then either go with Dave's tweeters, or maybe swap out for the BMS 2 way drivers if neededl Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  3. How ironic the thread posters nameisoldenough on a 7 year old thread. Lol Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  4. Why not pick up the classe 6 channel amp in the for sale thread...more than enough power IMO, and it was only $1k used. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  5. I used to have a pair of DR10s, and I loved them! Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  6. A little update... sorry about the pic quality as it was taken with my tablet instead of my phone. Pics of my RP150Ms front heights and a pic of 1 surround height. I also have 2 pics of my new end table (I have 2, but only took pics of one), and my tablet that I use for home automation, and AV control. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  7. I do not notice any rise in the high end at all. I am also wondering if this is because of my living a high altitude, and the variance of humidity. I need to get REW setup, and do some measuring. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  8. I have 8 Kappa C woofers in the garage now... I hope they sound as good as the Crites. I also have 7 or 8 EV DH1As. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  9. I bring this up, because sometimes I need to raise the volume from -30 up to -20 or even higher to hear the voices. It doesn't make a difference which sources player or movie either. Only time of day, and weather. At first I thought it was me, but our relatives are in town, and they are 20 years younger than I am and they also complained. I also keep reading reviews in my RP160Ms about them being a bit bright, and I find if anything they are not bright at all. The article below makes sense to me now as to high frequencies needing more power at altitude too. This is not regarding moving from low altitude to high, but staying at a high altitude. I found an article that reiterates my problem here... https://www.stereophile.com/asweseeit/590awsi/index.html https://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/does-altitude-affect-how-you-hear-a-system.113732/ According to a post in the 2nd link all the big bands adjust the EQ depending on the temps. 10. I wish I could have used them for my heights, but I was worried about them being heavier. We have concrete walls, and I had a french cleat installed to hold them. With proper support, and drywall, I would have spent the little bit extra, and got the 1st 0s for heights too. The 160s def sound better than the 150s, but the 150s are doing fine for heights. 11. A friend of mine is using my old La Scala bass bins with a EVhorn, and EV DH1A drivers with a minidsp and it sounds great. If you go with that combo, let me know and I will have him give me the settings for the minidsp. I think the horn is the 940. It is about the same width as the La Scala bass bin, andabout the height of the La Scala stock top. If not, I am willing to let you have a pair of 18x10s that have never been used...you just need to pay the shipping from Mexico. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  12. Are those 18x10s? They sure look like the ones I bought off eBay that Chris recommended to me. Pretty inexpensive, an can handle a 2" horn driver. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  13. I am at 7000', and I have noticed something strange...volume level required to reach a level you can hear voices at appears to vary by the time of day or weather. Has anyone else experienced this..if so how much does it affect the levels? Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  14. I would call and ask for a supervisor, and keep asking for the next level up utill they solve the problem. It is ridiculous for the adverrtst o keep popping up even after you have uninstalled it IMO. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  15. You def need to check around when shipping, and wait for additional offers. When I was trying to get 2 K402 horns shipped from California to Laredo Texas the first offer was $2k, and he was going to pick them up and deliver them in a car! this was for 2 bare horns...no drivers or stands. I waited a few days, and got an offer of $350. I checked references, and they were pretty good. The guy picked them up the next morning, and they arrived in Laredo the next day...in perfect condition. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  16. I would call them up and complain...their customer service is pretty hood, and you might even get a gift card for your trouble. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  17. I finally have 4 K402s, and will be making Chris's MEH very soon. I will be trying a boxless, and a boxed version with Chris's assistance. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  18. I am using RP150Ms for my front and rear height channels. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  19. I used to have an answering machine that had a message that basically told them not to call, and gave all the legal stuff, and it said if you are someone e ai know leave a message. Spam phone calls went to zero. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  20. Disregard... I posted before I saw your other posts. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  21. What if you kept extending the wings to make it like a horn with the top cut off? Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  22. Woke up this morning, and it was -1C...coldest I have seen since we moved here 2 years ago. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  23. When I bought mine Crutchfield was a bit higher as I recall...plus I wanted them in Cherry, and it was hard at the time to get them in cherry discounted. Regardless they were in mint condition, and never appeared to even have been open or played as even the plastic bananna plugs were still in place. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  24. I would stay away from the 8th gen i7 as reports are the fan is noisy...unless you want to spend even more and get a fan less case for it. I run an Asus minion thatis a i5, and it works great. I also have a Intel NUC that is a Celeron, and it works very well on Linux for music, and movies (not 4k though as it is not enough power). My Celeron is about 5 years old, and my Asus is about 3 years old...both have no fans, although the Celeron does get a tad bit warm when watching movies. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  25. I do not understand the rationality of because your data is sold on windows, and by Google or other OSs that you should not run a device that is not selling your data, and is more stable and reliable. In addition...this thread was about what to run for a media player. I would like to know how many manufacturers are running windows on their media players vs Android or Linux., and how many windows DIY platforms can run on a USB stick that is less than 50gb.
