  1. It's always a tough time to loose love ones. may you be strengthen with the memories of Her life.
  2. It's not worth getting stressed over, this is in fact a new day, and thought the branding of the current speakers being elevated to a place of prominence. It is very unlikely that there will be a retraction. when you consider that the khorn,Lasalle ,Cornwall, heresy, possibly belle, all have something in common. whatever came after does not, and should not really be classified as heratage. All of klipsch speakers are heratage inspired. For those who have the original has bragging rights. These new speakers will find it's niche with a different generation of listeners. They will come to the forum and be encouraged to try the path that brought them to where they are. from what I can see the company is doing what pwk did.make a dam good speaker get it sold, most of us here won't sell what we have to purchase a the current price,to keep klipsch in buiness .
  3. There u go that integrated amp is super cool. I'm excited just thinking about having 1. And at under 1k. Just a long time to wait. I'm thinking aaragon, 180 clean watts into Cornwall.
  4. This is a topic that comes up from time to time, I suppose considering the logic, yes, Now the path we take to get there can be quite different. I would consider the journey that gives the traveler the satisfactory, experience pointing out all unexpected nuances, that makes the expereance of the journey memorable , I imagine you would find it difficult to get an unbiased opinion due to the personal and positive journey, the opposite is also true. What can you live with, also means you'll live without some things, we can be thankful for choices. Just the way I see it Errol
  5. SAD to hear about your loss., recently had lightning take out my hk 1700 . Replaced with a hk 3700 stereo mids &high was good but there was a little man with a hammer driving me crazy
  6. Youthman, Seems to me if you started @6oc,and stop making video you might get the job done. I can always take it off your hands,I can easily make room for it. Whaddiu say. Awesome looking room.
  7. Muff respect to MR Mohammed Ali RIP
  8. As always many thanks for your sharing, I'm trying to draw from the different views offered. I must say I was a little surprised to find the different speaker was used with the heresy as a center, The fact that a center is not dependent on speaker matching, but more so on mid,and high Frequency matching. I am aware of the need to have the LCR to match in a front array for home theater application, there is a lot to enjoy with listening in mono, basically I'm doing so with the phantom center, thou, with an additional openness. Clarity is certainly one of the more enjoyable side benifit from this arrangement, making it unnecessary to listen at high volume. Amplification mid & hi Frequency seems to be direction for me to explore, Errol
  9. Thanks for the responses from all,the common thread being the stability of the off axis and it's affect on the sound, the merging of left /right image seems to produce and blend not present in either channel. I have not looked at the data provided as yet, my concern with a hard center, will the Suttle semblance be enhanced.
  10. Hi all, Looking to those who have use three speakers in front array, not as part of a surround, more as a derived center.what your perceptions ,have you continue with this setup. If not was there any particular reason for moving from that direction, if that or those deficiency were eliminated would you re-evaluate. My reason for information,i am and have been listening to phantom center and wondered Wether there would be any real improvements to be gained, using physical center. Thanks for sharing, Errol
  11. Have you tried one speaker, check volume with left channel, then right, is there any difference, then proceed to the other speaker repeat previous test, this should reveal any issues. Is there no likely hood that issue could be loose connection.? Or adjustment toe in, toe out. Distance to listening position,!!
  12. Sorry to hear about your amp, And as always we become attached to our gear especially if we've had them for a while, My system is very similar to yours except quartets, acurus 125x5 and outlaw950. It's probably going to cost close to your 300,I'd definitely look at replacing the amp, probably get something 30 day trial? Outlaw Has a amp 500+. Only thing about shipping is cost, the amp isn't working anyway nothing to fear there. Receiver allows you to regain a portion of your outlay, and move you a few steps forward as far as features are concern. Do what's best for you, equipment, and financial wise.
  13. This often happens when the influence wears off, slim and sleek can never outweigh comfy, glad to see you've sobered up .
  14. Seems to me that the substance of what this new network has to offer has been lost in the technology of graphs and how they ought to be the detrming factor, factors by which they are to be evaluated. To a certain extent the new vendor has to establish his credentials, and thus will be challanged. Has any klipsch horn owner been able to understand and have the necessary parts to build and honestly evaluate it's performance biased on usage in their own system, if it doesn't infringe anylaws. The time that has been spent thus far! far out weights the time it would take to build. And no Definitive conclusion has been reached. It's great to have options, and that is all that's being offered here.this forum is great that they extend this opportunity for those who are interested in audio sound reproduction, without worrying about how it might affect their bottom line.
  15. Dang appreciate your last post, separating the fluff.the flawed design by pk which most here are seems to like. Kudos for your real world approach, remembering if it tests good and it's performance is good this is only to expected. The anomaly attracts attention, perhaps a set sent on a trip will determine it's capabilities.
  16. Life in the old days, As we reminisce on things of the past, those who still have heritage speakers and are trying to get the most out of their stock components with new and improved parts, only to run foul of the blue line. Will new and better capacitor provide the ends we seek, will it overcome our expectations! Or will our perception continue to draw us down the alley. Don't get me wrong I too am like many other, but this turn of events has made me pause to think, do I want to continue on this path to madness. I need a k77 round back with ancio magnet, then I can pull the chain, and wave, goodbye to this madness. Errol
  17. possibly , though whatever benefit might be gained ,I'm sure other option would yield much better results,
  18. yes , as stated I'm very hap.py ,I believe the only thing that might itch is amplification , but wont be scratching, every thing sound so right, sat 6' feet from spkr and they just pull you in. probably sent him in the direction of the ref line, for those who are looking for improvement to their stock cornwall 1 its definitely worth doing.
  19. Hi all, I didn't want to start a new topic , just thought I'd add a few lines of conformation that yes better parts does make a difference, I had the pleasure and good fortune of speaking with DeanG about some issues I had been having, with the HI from my Cornwall 1. V-Caps were the only upgrade the compolants were stock except for the LF which I had to replace with new from klipsch, personally they sound better to me. Anyway the Mids were dominating most of the audible range and stifling the Hi's . During my babblings with dean I must have said something that made sense to him , and he started to explain the different functions of the HI and LOW pass 1st order and all the stuff you'll know, then he said you have something to write with, well I quickly got pencil and paper wrote down what he said and as I was going through the old post say his about super b network. My reason for this post is with the simple addition of a inductor in line with Mid, the separation and presence of the Mid horn and tweeter has defined spaces between them. After making the changes to one network I reinstalled it and was a little surprise ,it seems as if it wasn't playing, I must admit I didn't know what to expect , I made the change to the other one and power back up , and yea . the Mids had recessed and the HI are elevated. I'm a happy camper years ago I had a Warfdale single cone 12'' spkr this has surpassed it, THK U SIR Errol
  20. popular belief leans towards this is not such a good idea, i tried using a voltage tester to see what kind of voltage is present at spkr terminal ,this did not yield any result.might need meter with smaller measurement. can anyone tell what voltage i might expect to see at input terminal of spkr. looking for some means to activate rely, and separate networks, thank's for your response .
  21. hoping to be able to interchange different source,
  22. Ok i'm thinking of placing two different pairs of networks in a Cornwall using the same hi-mid -low, going back to separate Input terminal . will there be any issues with network (1) or (2) being affected by each other . (ie) backfeed to, and, or through the other network . Could it present a problem for spr's and source . (amp/receiver) after implementation don't want to open Spkr's .
  23. I am surprised that a few bumps in the road has derailed this deal . I suppose the fact that i paid that much for a pair of cw 1 plus shipping, and have not consider the cost too much, with new woofer and some dIY changes to network ,no regret, i do wonder sometimes if i'm crazy. But we make the decision that best suite us. Hope you will get some closer to you.
