  1. The SW-311's are available through Amazon for $599 which is a pretty good discount off the $1599 list price. I don't know how good they are though and you don't see them in many forum members' profiles.
  2. Is the firearm part of the deal, or just there for scale?
  3. Watched World War Z last night. Great movie! Seemed like the dialogue was very muted though so we had the volume way up...when the LFE kicked in it was crazy! Knocked some trinket off the fireplace mantel!!!
  4. There was also a pair in Charleston, SC a few months back that were listed for $1800 if I remember correctly.
  5. Добро пожаловать товарищ
  6. Just checked and the Pioneer's power consumption is posted at 290 watts. How can they claim "630 watts multi-channel simultaneous drive"?
  7. I'm not sure I like that definition. I think I'm enthusiastic about music. Klipsch gets me closer to the music.
  8. That setup will be one of a kind. You could charge admission just for the privilege of hearing it sing.
  9. I imagine that the only difference is the gauge of the wire. The component will draw whatever current it's using depending on the load. It's just surprising that a 50 watt receiver would come with a larger gauge cord than a 125 watt receiver.
  10. Wait...we're supposed to wear glasses!?!?
  11. Just upgraded my receiver from a Marantz NR-1402 to a Pioneer SC-1323. Noticed that the Marantz came with a much beefier power cord than the Pioneer. The markings say that the Marantz supplied cord was rated for 13 amps while the thinner Pioneer cord was rated for 10 amps. The besides the thickness and amp rating, the cords are otherwise identical. The cords are even made by the same company. Is there any advantage to using the thicker 13 amp cord to hook up the Pioneer? Could this cause any problems??? Thanks.
  12. Sounded to me like the commentators for the opening ceremony thought Stalin was a pretty cool guy…
  13. You're right...careful vacuuming might be a better way to start.
  14. Looks like a double wall box...bummer on the foam particles. Just take the case off and blow them out with some compressed air.
  15. Just start driving south...stop when you find an acceptable climate.
  16. How far back in the day are you talking? Both the Elite SC-72 and regular SC-1323 are marked "made in Malaysia".
  17. Ok, the extra year of warranty on Elite branded receivers is another difference, but only if you buy from a B&M store.
  18. What makes Pioneer Elite receivers "elite"? I've been comparing the Elite SC-72 to the regular SC-1323 since Amazon had the latter on sale last Sunday for $599. They share all the same features, have an identical rear panel, and have the same MSRP of $1300. The only differences I can discern are a slightly different power rating (130 watts vs 125 watts), the SC-72 is 1.82" longer in depth, and the 72 has "Elite" styling cues. Of course the "Elite" branded models can only be sold at B&M stores (unless you want to risk no warranty) so you'll have a harder time finding good deals like Amazon had on the 1323. Is the "Elite" branding just a marketing ploy to protect Best Buy Magnolia's diminishing share of the market? I'll grant you that the higher end "Elite" models like SC-79 & SC-77 don't currently have equivalent regular Pioneer receiver models.
  19. It was $599 which made it a pretty good deal while it lasted. Amazon has it back up to $999 now.
  20. Check out www.accessories4less.com also for deals on Marantz refurbished receivers. Thank you for your service. Welcome to the forum.
  21. My Panasonic plasma does not put off any noticeable heat. I just remembered that I once saw something which related plasma buzzing to altitude, the higher the altitude where you live the more likely buzzing problems seem to occur from what I read. I'm only 25' above sea level...myth debunked.
  22. Florida again...all the good stuff is in Florida.
  23. I'm sure they're fine...just don't bury them in the ground like that website suggests.
