  1. Guess I need to expand my horizons, but I've always thought of heritage as K-Horn, LaScala, Belle, Cornwall and Heresy. I do get the point of Forte and Chorus being extensions of the Heritage line. Interesting thread. Thanks.
  2. Off topic Plissken, just wanted to say I am in the Denver area too. Wonder how many of us are on the forum. Good luck getting your delivery! Chuck.
  3. Marantz (even newer stuff) and Klipsch still make a good combo. Thanks for sharing and welcome.
  4. Science could be set back many, many years if fridge purging caught on and swept the nation!! Do you want to be responsible for that?? I think not! Be careful what you propose!! Thanks for the creative piece, Marty, and enjoy the new digs. Chuck.
  5. Great work, Joe. I don't have many diy skills, but I love to smoke meat on an oversize Weber. Try some chicken thighs low, slow and indirect with pecan wood. We use a butter, lemon, Worchestershire and garlic baste and they turn out great.
  6. Fine lookin' speakers. Grab a dust rag and you're in business.
  7. Focal makes a fine speaker. There's a higher end stereo shop in Denver which carries them. I had a chance to listen to them on a slow afternoon a few months back. If I wasn't familiar with Klipsch Heritage (and/or had room for more speakers) I might be tempted. The big question might be overall satisfaction in the long term with non-horn loaded speakers. Pretty sure I'd get tired of the more passive presentation other speakers give. I'd have to have the room and finances to support both if I was going to experiment. Let us know what you decide to do and how it's working out.
  8. wayoutback, I think you've got good instincts in your decision. There are some things more important than speakers. In our house there is no man cave or space that is just 'mine.' When you really share space with another person consensus is important. Having 'my way' is nearly not as important as having my wife's respect. Daddy Dee hit the nail on the head, I think. I was once confronted with the question "Would you rather be happy or be right?" Most domestic battles are just not worth fighting. You could put a pretty nice HT together with Heresys, a small sub and reasonably sized center if you wish. Best of luck and, perhaps most of all, peace!! Chuck
  9. Wasn't it Jed Clampett who said "the boy ain't right" ?
  10. The link says they are sold. Price isn't too bad although putting them in really good shape could mean spending a some time and money.
  11. Sound for sure. If I really like it, then (with effort) I'll pay attention to lyrics.
  12. Welcome, Kent. Doesn't look like you need too much advice. My preference would be whatever you like best in the Heritage line for vinyl and other 2 ch listening.
  13. I agree that Bose sucks, but we been there and done that so many times it seems. I'd be more interested in discussions comparing Klipsch heritage, etc. to B&W, Wilson, Maggies, etc.
  14. Are you willing to ship or are these pick-up only? Thanks.

    What I Got Today!

I'm with you dtel. Grandkids are both easier and more fun. And ... we get to send 'em home!!
  16. Not sure that size counts in this area. Good sound (quality) does. Welcome.
  17. Spare ribs (St. Louis cut) are probably the easier to smoke because of the higher fat content but also seem to take a little longer. I smoke with indirect heat low and slow using hickory on an oversized Weber. Finish 'em off on a separate pit with direct heat and sauce for 15 minutes or less. Baste with apple juice in a spray bottle throughout. I cooked baby backs for years and they are great too. We now prefer the spares.
  18. As I recall, the Legend Series was limited to the KLF's. I bought the KLF-30's in the late 90's and they are part of my HT today (along with KLF-10's in the rear and a C-7 center). Don't think any other models were included in the Legend line.
  19. When we upgraded all the HT electronics about 2 years ago, I did use a young guy in the Denver area to help and insure all the connections and settings were right, and to wall-mount the new Samsung. (He has a thriving little business going). I'm not very technical or very patient. On the other hand, and since I do know something about good sound, I researched and handpicked all the new components. The Klipsch speakers remained 'as is' with the addition of a new sub. I'd never let a contractor dictate equipment choices for me, ever.
  20. Pretty work. Would love to hear them. Can you tell us the dynamic range? I'd guess they dig pretty deep on bass. The really rude question concerns price, but that may be private info. Thanks for sharing the photos. Chuck
  21. I like the idea. Might get a little cluttered though with the 'for sale' aspect. Maybe keep that in the Garage Sale forum. Hope the mods are paying attention. Thanks for the suggestion.
  22. I tend to forget even the name of so many movies, but not this one. It made a lasting impression. And, yes, the sound was incredible too. Highly recommended.
  23. I'd want to know exactly what condition the cabinets are in and how much time and/or $ it would take to make them acceptable to me. Would also want to know if the crossovers have been upgraded, if all drivers are working properly, etc. The price would make it worth checking them out in person. Best of luck.
  24. Suck Up!! And very well done, if I do say so!!
  25. Bose Motto - Music to grind your teeth to. Seriously, start out with the best speaker and best amplification you can afford and continue to upgrade both when opportunities present themselves. I started out in 1981 with a lightly used pair of Heresys and later moved up the chain to the extent my wallet would permit. Best of luck and keep us posted. Chuck
