  1. I listened to the Forte III at CES, one pair in an enclosed demo room, the other pair out in the open convention center with thousands of people chattering in the background. They sounded great in both environments, with the two different amps. All my thoughts about the Forte III are positive. As a bit of contrast, I also listened to dozens of other very nice loudspeakers that were set up in their individual luxury hotel suites with massive power amps and thousand dollar interconnect cables. Most sounded impressively fine, but many of those exotic speakers lost their finesse at moderately high sound pressure levels which led me to believe that they are short on dynamic range, and some of those speakers cost as much as a new car. So I think the Klipsch advantage is the great sound that gets better as you turn up the volume. The Forte III is a really good speaker at a good price.
  2. This pair is finished in California Black Walnut , and much better looking in person
  3. Yes that seems like a good reason for not pre-loading the miniDSP, I was also just thinking the software download may be their way to provide the user with the latest version right from the start. I should have stated that we turned up the amplifier gain, my point was that I did not hear any hiss.
  4. I listened to a system yesterday using the miniDSP 2x4 HD. The owner allowed me to pause the music and turn the volume control to max. I did NOT hear any hiss. Considering that and some of the above comments, the HD version is probably a better choice. I think I will buy one for my next Bi-amp or subwoofer project. I believe you also need to purchase for $10. and download the applicable software, is that correct?
  5. The Forte IIIs on display at CES were the Matte Black finish with the 70th Anniversary grill cloth, and the California Black Walnut with Lambswool Linen grills. Both were very attractive in person, and sounded really good.
  6. It happened to me a few days ago on my Windows browser PC. Almost ruined my New Year, until a refresh let me back in. Has been okay since then.
  7. How about these McIntosh home theater processors? http://www.mcintoshlabs.com/us/Products/pages/ProductListingVertical.aspx?CatId=hometheaterprocessors
  8. Forum member Cantilope posted a picture of his good looking Jubilees here, on page 25, and I was under the impression that the walnut front panel was a Klipsch upgrade.
  9. I just looked at a box label for a regular 2015 Klipschorn (picture in garage sale, alerts) and it states for serial #1 to be matched with serial #2.
  10. These are year (20)15, unit #1 to be matched with unit #2
  11. Hi AaronB123, Congratulations on getting your Klipschorns. They must sound great. I have wanted some 70th Anniversary Klipschorns since seeing that exotic veneer at the Consumer Electronics Show last January, but I already have Klipschorns, so instead I am glad to learn about a fellow forum member, you, getting your beautiful Australian Walnut Klipschorns. This thread raises a question. Do any of the 70th Anniversary boxes have a label stating that a specific serial number Klipschorn should be paired up with another specific serial number Klipschorn, similar to how it is indicated on the labels of my pair of Heresy III shipping boxes?
  12. Are you waiting for her to change her mind? Go big now, or forever wish you did.
  13. Wish I was closer and could visit for your event, and listen to some music on your Klipsch speaker system.
  14. The R-26F has two pairs of banana jacks connected with two metal jumper strips. I am guessing the original question is about removing the jumper strips and connecting one amp channel to each pair of jacks, therefore still using the R-26F internal croossover, but powering the tweeter section and woofer section separately. Using identical amps such as on a multi-channel receiver for passive bi-amping, should be safe enough with the tweeter only getting it's proportional amount of watts from the passive internal crossover.
  15. My Audyssey microphone is attached to a hinged bracket on the end of a boom that clips onto the quick release of a camera tripod. This allows me to "float" the microphone to the exact position desired. If I plan to make any room or equipment changes in the near future that will require re-calibration, I will just test three positions and skip to calculate.
