  1. I have the ALK/Fastrac version of those tweeters (same driver different horn) in mine. Also have the Fastrac La Scala horns. Oh, and I just had to try them, ALK extreme slope x-overs. Mark
  2. Thanks Jim. I appreciate your directness. Listening to to my La Scalas right now and would be very surprised to be able to make them better. Mark
  3. If you have the chance and can find the part number for the horns, I'd like to know. I have a pair of Forte II's stored away and would like to try this mod. I'm thinking it would really make the midrange much better. And it it would give me an excuse to try the new K55G from BC in my La Scalas. Mark
  4. I like it. What enclosure are you using the Forte II or the Pro? Mark
  5. I don't care what anyone says, that there is funny... Seriously, would you upgrade to these drivers if you already had the dual phase plug K55V drivers? Mark
  6. Oh-Oh Toto, I don't think we're in Klipschville anymore. Are both horns Tractrix? Seems like an interesting experiment. Mark
  7. Anyone try any of the ROON devices? I've read a little about them and they seem capable of very high quality sound. Mark
  8. That is f..in cool. I've got the LSIs, anyone into a road trip? Mark
  9. Here's a thread from Mustang Guy that shows the technique: How to Bondo corners There are several more threads about Bondo in the Technical Modifications area. Mark
  10. Since the finish is black, you could simply use bondo to fill the needed areas. Sand and repaint. Pretty easy stuff. Check out the modifications thread for some examples. Here's a thread about a set of La Scalas I did. Shows how the bondo looked before and after. La Scala refurb HTH Mark
  11. Nice article! Thanks for the link. One of the restaurants mentioned is named Brilliant Corners. Here's a photo of what is really in their corners taken from their Facebook page: Pretty cool.. Mark
  12. Alex, best of luck with your decision. If the cabs are in good shape I'd sand and refinish them just like th ones Matthews did. They do look and sound great in a small room. Here are the ones Matthews refinished in a room a little smaller than yours. Mark
  13. Looking at hundreds and hundreds of ads in the last couple of years? Mark
  14. Uh Dave, better turn that TV on Tuesday else you'll miss games one and two by Friday. Ok?
  15. Too funny, that's exactly what I said when I saw the photos. Mark
  16. Let's go Tribe!! That being said it's nice to see both clubs make the World Series. The Cubs have an awesome line up. The Indians seem to keep finding ways to win. Should be fun. Mark
  17. I agree with everyone regarding the asking price for this pair of La Scalas. I'd have to see them to make up my mind, but based on the photo most I'd offer is $750 to $850. meeker1, every Klipsch fanatic needs to own at least one set of La Scalas and Khorns to satisfy that horn induced itch. Or maybe some sort of cream to rub on it or something.... Mark
  18. Just cut to the chase and buy these La Scalas. Mark
  19. No doubt. If the original poster wouldn't mind we'd sure like to see the restoration project documented in its own thread. Lots of experience here should you have questions. Mark

    What I Got Today!

Now, that's an integrated amplifier. Congrats mark
  21. I'm not far from Columbus around 80 miles. If you can find the time you're more than welcome. Mark
  22. Matt, Those tubes are bitchin'. Hook them up to that 350 mill and drive east to see your old speakers. We'll put you up for as long as you care to stay. Mark
  23. That's so true it's sad. I've gotten off the super slab and went over the river and threw the woods just to break away from the tractor beam. This driving thread really strikes home with me. I drive a lot for work, 35,000 a year is normal. See lots of special behavior from my fellow travelers. Mark
