  1. I need some advice. I have a 15 x 20 room I'd like to turn into a 2 channel stereo room. I have La Scalas and Forte IIs that could be used. The La Scalas sound absolutely divine in my 24 x 24 garage. Problem is the garage is not a year round environment. The Forte IIs sound OK indoors but not magical like the La Scalas. How do I modify the room indoors to sound like the garage? Mark
  2. Good for you!! That was a very long couple of days, glad the board is up and running again. Mark
  3. OMG, don't laugh, but if we leave the dish for the Labrador out, our cat will pee in it every time... Makes for interesting conversation at the vet when he asks how we got a urine sample... Mark

A1UC, Wish you nothing but good luck getting this resolved. Worst that could happen is refinishing the bases. They are solid wood and should look brand spanking new if you have to go this route. After reading the for sale thread, i can't believe you bought them. Hope you got a great deal. Mark
  5. Sorry, I'm not buying anyone at Klipsch built that cabinet. Looks like a modified existing POS cabinet to fit the Cornwall motorboards. You know, for that custom built in look that was so popular in the 70's. Just my 2 cents.
  6. I have a lot of Emotiva gear. It is solidly built and backed by a good warranty. I've noticed that Emotiva starts giving good discounts when they are updating product lines and moving out the old. So, I'd get the amp now because it may not be available at the end of the year. They have a good return program if you decide the amp isn't up to the task. Mark
  7. Oh boy, does that look expensive..... Mark
  8. Starting yet another La Scala restoration? Those screws look very familiar. Mark
  9. http://cloud.tapatalk.com/s/5787d4f5546e9/20160714_110140.jpgSent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk Hmm, my La Scalas don't have lag screws like that on the motor board. Can you post a photo of the entire speaker? And maybe the label on the back with the model and serial number? Mark
  10. I'm heading to NC in October if that helps anyone. Will be driving through Winston-Salem on my way to Sunset Beach. I'm sure they will fit in my CRV. My LaScalas did. Mark
  11. Don't know what the piece of wood is for but that tweeter ain't tweetin' with the wires cut like that... Glad you got your Khorns! Mark
  12. Or, it could me me!! I've done some evil stuff in my day! Geez, should've stopped at two horny devils. Or was that two beers? Get confused..... Mark
  13. Ok, I'm sorry, Dude's got 2 posts. Who knows if this is for real or not? Put a price on them. Tell us the location. Mark
  14. These are certainly "ugly" but not beyond salvage. Some sanding, bondo, and glue these would be ready for whatever finish you'd like. I did the set I got from Colter in Duratex because they're in my garage. Sounding very sweet right now BTW. La Scala's are special. Save every pair!! Next set are for in the house use. Mark
  15. Ok, why in heck didn't you listen to these over the last 40 years? Just wondering. if you were closer, I'd come over and make you a deal you couldn't refuse. Mark
  16. Congratulations to you and Shaun!! This project is absolutely beautiful. Thanks for sharing the whole build with everyone. It's nice to know I'm not the only one obsessed with Klipsch sound. Mark
  17. Thanks, I was confusing it with the Table Tuba. Mark If you want to hear both a Tuba Table and an F20 I am happy to demo, just send me a PM. The F20 is really an easy build, the TT a PITA but more space efficient. Sent you a PM. Thanks for the offer! Mark
  18. Unfortunately, that's so true. Still, it's interesting to see how they never cease to amaze.
  19. But it's that super special flat wire! Makes all the sound waves rectangular. Fits better in rectangular rooms.
  20. I think those speaker cables only work on ribbon style speakers.... Mark
  21. Thanks, I was confusing it with the Table Tuba. Mark
  22. Ok, I don't see a sub named THT at that link. What am I missing? Mark
  23. Not to high jack this thread but where does one find detailed prints and instructions to build, either the F20 or the THT? I've downloaded plans for the F20 and find confusing at best. Thanks, hope this helps the original poster too. Mark
  24. i think you could hone the inside of the throat of the horn by hand. Here's a tool we use at work to hone small bore hydraulic cylinders: http://www.gwrauto.com/page2.html Mark
  25. Nice post, informative to the untrained like myself. Fjd, might be the most informative post I've read here. Great job of explaining why it's important to match the amp to the load it's driving. Thanks for taking the time to post this. Mark
