    Severe weather

Hope you are all safe! Hailed here yesterday with thunderstorms, then snowed, never have seen it before......
  3. Roy you are no Bonehead, thanks for it all!!!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Great stories! Thanks for sharing!!!
  5. On my craigs there is a dealer who does just this, delivery and help with setup.....he says his customers are very HAPPY!!!!
  6. Never owned one, but borrowed my brothers spitfire and it was like driving a go kart! I took an S turn at 50 mphs and the tires didn't even squeal, it was like it was on rails. I read an article in car and driver where they put a Cobra engine in one and they said it was better than most supercars they had tested. It took him almost 2 yrs to sort out his electrical problems, but when it was working, once up to speed, it was fun to drive!
  7. Bwakula, those appear to be in great condition. You may consider trying to sell them for around 1250- 1350. Raw untouched birch heritage speakers are fairly rare. You could then buy some Heresys and a sub. Good luck with your search!!!
  8. I like Mogami cables too, the guy that builds mine wires studios, studio execs houses, home studios for major recording artists and its less expensive then going to guitar center to buy some Mogami cables. The last sets of RCA's he did for me, were 20$ a pair, and sound great! I have heard some good things on the Altec board recently about Mil spec copper, covered with silver. I have too try it to see.....
  9. What surprised me they didn't show any horn speakers, I thought tubes and horns were a natural match? I have only heard AR gear a couple of times and the speakers didn't do them any favors. I bet its hard voicing a tube amp with some of the modern LE speakers, they seem so lifeless. Klipsch should work out a deal and have them send Klipsch and amp, and klipsch could send them Jubilees. I guarantee that AR would sell a ton of them for them. AR is pretty active in the local audio community. I live in Minnesota, the audio community through the Pavek museum is pretty close knit I know Bel Canto does demos there and I am sure AR does too. I would just ask AR to show them at one of the museums events, that alone would sell a bunch of pairs.
  10. Awesome video Maynard! Thanks for sharing!
  11. I was a vegetarian for a very long time so I have eaten many types of tofu many ways. My wife always gets it at Asian restaurants, after hundreds of tries its only been as good as ours maybe twice but still to greasy. The best way to cook it we have found is to use the firm tofu cut it in 1"x3/4"x1/2" cubes roll in cornstarch and fry over medium to medium high in a little oil. Whats great It gets really crispy on the outside, its not greasy, and because of the crust it will absorb any sauce you use.
  12. Tasdom is that an Altec crossover, with 4002s and k402s? if so that's wild!!! Thanks Zim! the news is a little distracting today, I didn't even read the text.
  13. I think not being able to place instruments coming from one or the other speaker may have to do with the music or where the microphones were placed and the way the music was blended. My jubs image nicely and I can often tell which speaker is playing what, even in the sweet spot where everything is right in front of you. I would throw on a sterophile test cd, if you have the one that checks phase, and has the guy beating on a pan in a church, these tracks can help. Good luck!!!
  14. Khornukopia's ideas will make it so much easier, I even labeled the top of my active xovers chassis top so when I looked over it I knew exactly where the plugs were going. You may want to discuss what amps you are using. Also being that you are using the Xilica xover I don't know if Roys settings would be plug and play, you may have to get the mics out. Good luck you will love them when you get it right.
  15. Yes, perhaps there is no such thing as "global warming" made in part by man? Soot is being deposited on ice fields all over the arctic and "our" planet everywhere, is it just wild fires? Have you ever stepped on black pavement, glaciers are melting quickly.. I must believe that NASA is a political wing of some party I am not familiar with.........
  16. Mr. Clean why don't you just change brands? I must say I think your title is a little off......
  17. It may be over priced, but voiced with his Altec "type" 604's got some rave reviews at the RMAF show as well as Jean Hiraga with his 604's at the Munich high end show. The idea that it starts with amps I find odd,,,,,,
