  1. You might look into the Schitt Freya. Balanced and SE, passive, jfet or tube mode. Two tube gain stage, two tube followers. $699 http://www.schiit.com/products/freya

  3. Wish I had a room for these https://portland.craigslist.org/clc/ele/d/klipsch-electro-voice-corner/6261549685.html
  4. Thanks guys, I wasn't sure I had that right.
  5. I think the model that caught my eye is the rf-83? It looked like those but with four woofers. I have yet to hear them, but I know a lot of folks consider them more refined or less forward than the RF7ii. Anyway, yours look great and maybe the 83's would be overkill in my HT.
  6. With the Primaluna Dialog II, EL34 can be swapped for the stock KT88 and is commonly done.
  7. Isn't anyone using Chromecast Audio? $35 puck that streams from your device, your chosen providers. lossless. lossy, your choice.
  8. I guess if purses are your area of expertise. Not judging, Judy.
  9. When you were using the sa-xr, were you using it in party mode to biamp? I wonder how it sounds compared to the Nakimichi. I have one myself, the xr45, and it sounds much, much better with the digital coaxial input than it does with rca's. I use mine n my HT, but I've thought of picking one up to try with the Quartets. The digital tone control doesn't degrade the signal in the way that analog does. I like too that you don't need a dac with the panasonic.

    its hard to beat that.

    TiVo

Does Tivo still have the lifetime option?

  13. That's a better list for sure, but the Paragon doesn't sound good. It looks cool. The JBL L 100t is not good enough for the list either.
  14. Of course, the sixes are twice the price but they read like a much superior model.

    For Sale

His posts seem the least angry so far.
  16. I've heard the R15 pm and they sound very good. They were comparing with the little powered JBL. The JBL has better bass and is very smooth. But the top end is somewhat muted and obscures some music detail. The Klipsch rules up top and in the upper mid, excites the room much better. What you might expect since the JBL is really a studio monitor.
  17. Yes, that's more or less what i see happening. Those old Emotiva amps were like tanks and at nice pricing. I haven't purchased any Schitt stuff yet, but my next dAC will probably be one of theirs. I just like what I'm seeing from them. It reminds me of the old Emotiva.
  18. It's not just a wireless speaker, although it can also be that. It is powered with dac, phono pre etc. and can also be used in a wireless mode. Great flexibility. What's not fair? You may not be ready, but that's where people are going.
  19. That's a very impressive amp. The price is really nice. As Emotiva retreats into cheapness, Schitt ascends.
  20. I'm pretty interested in the Hypex based Klipsch integrated coming out this fall.
  21. If you still have those Chorus II's it might be interesting to drag them out for a comparison with the new Fortes.
  22. No problem, I'm not really one of those guys, but I did put some 16 ga. Belden 9497 wire on my Quartets and it really sounds better than the 12 ga. stranded copper wire I was using. I didn't expect that much difference. I'm never going away from Klipsch.
  23. I tend to think that many manuf. intentionally tailor those measurements to meet a desired sound signature. Whether Pass or Levinson et al do I wouldn't know. A recessed or pronounced measurement in certain bandwidths is perhaps not happenstance or bungled design but a desired result.
