  1. Haha ... turntable is in place Looks pretty nice; can't even see that I chopped it up." But ... L/R is out of whack Tried different cartridges ... my Ortofon 2M Red seems to works best ... OK; will start plying with the skating force Time for wine Cheers, Emile
  2. Haha ... was going to get these, but then found out they were used ... so "backed off"
  3. That setup should BLOW you out of the room Not familiar with this Denon, but I suggest you start looking at the settings. Maybe try a 2 channel stereo setup first ... then start adding more speakers. Also check your speaker levels ... maybe Audessy turned them "way down." Good luck
  4. Jeez ... sorry, but just threw some of these away But ... as @rebuy said, just use some speaker cable and you'll be fine.
  5. Posted twice $3000 on the "other" thread.
  6. OK; sure everyone is tired of my little project ... but just in case haha Got a Marantz 6100 TT for this ... had to saw 1/8" off the front and the back to make it fit with a bit of clearance. Jeez ... taped it up, got my table saw out, etc. ... nah; my saw doesn't "extend" enough from the table to saw this damn thing. OK; off to a professional cabinet place ... done; great! Fits nicely ... but "original" platform is "too high" for this TT OK; ripped it out ... off to my wood place to buy another panel. Just sawed it up ... looking respectable Have to put some Danish oil on it to make it match. Pics will follow when I glue it into place. HAHA ... just posted this in case someone else has a brilliant idea like this. Lots more work than anticipated. Driving me to drink ... Cheers, Emile
  7. Awesome ... will take them if you drop them of in Florida
  8. Congrats; great speakers Yeah ... upgraded my AVR about 2 years ago (Onkyo RZ810) ... of course it's outdated now Couple of things to keep in mind ... First, do you need pre-outs ... how about zone 2/3 ... Second, if you are using zone 2/3 as a 2-way setup with a seperate amp, watch the HDMI inputs versus "throughputs." On my Onkyo "only" HDMI 1-3 transfer to zone 2 ... some other receivers are even worse than that ... and of course this "fact" is only in the "small print." Still looking for one that transfers "all" inputs. Cheers, Emile
  9. Makes a lot of sense. Thanks More work
  10. OK ... stupid ... but just had to share it and did not want to start a new thread about "stupidity." Hooked up my "new" Marantz 1060 to my stuff in the stereo room. NO right channel Got the 1060 off "offer-up" so thought "maybe I got screwed." Tried the "usual" i.e switching speakers, inputs, etc. ... 2 hours ... NO go OK; using a JVC P-3030 preamp with a "2 stage/dual" volume knob. Had them both turned to "full." Jeez ... the back knob on this pre-amp is NOT for L/R volume ... it's a "balance" knob and I had turned the right channel "off." Had not used this equipment for a couple of months Everything is GREAT now Thought you guys needed a "laugh." Jeez ... pouring a big glass of wine now Cheers, Emile
  11. Yes; understand ... haha ... but never figured it out for my specific situation And ... the Marantz 1060 "officially" is only 30W/ch. Still puzzled
  12. I am amazed that you get "full" sound with this setup. Tried a Bob Latino ST-70 tube amp (supposedly 35W/ch) with my Forte's and just did not think it was enough. Sold it and went back to a vintage Marantz 1060 which blows me out of the room
  13. Welcome Skip the "intermediate stuff" and go straight for the 402 horns ... or 510's
  14. Oops ... thought you were going to pick up the 4 LaScala's
  15. OK; bought a case off FleaBay by "eternal-audio" (or PatheWings). Seems they make the nicest cases ... coming from Berlin, Germany
  16. Haha ... if it would have been "mine," I would have given these leftovers away for $0.00 plus shipping. Just to help out fellow Klipsch "nuts." Oh well, Emile
  17. Sorry about "intruding" on this thread ... but thought some "wood workers" might be present Just got a "pristine" Marantz 1060 Looking for a wood case ... and really don't think it "costs" close to $200 plus $50 shipping (FleaBay) to make one ... Anyone?? Thanks, Emile
  18. No experience with Khorns on rollers, but put castors on my Forte's ... prob 1/8 to 1/4 clearance ... no difference in sound. Haha; had to use castors because these are in my (small) stereo room, blocking closets - actually a spare bedroom, but since we live in FL we often have surprise guests. Cheers, Emile
  19. Haha ... many forum members do this Was able to hide a pair of Forte's for about a month ... then she saw them and it cost me a new designer purse Saw you got them for $250 ... absolute STEAL! About the Ti diaphragms ... think it's about 20/80 (20% dislikes, 80% likes) ... personal thing ... I LOVE them. Enjoy, Emile
  20. Madman1 ... I apologize ... should have send this in a PM; not as a post in your thread. OK; the ST-120 is in a different league and should be worth some good $$. My comments were "only" for the "beginner" unit, the ST-70. Have heard good reports on the ST-120.
  21. Hey ... only $240K Unfortunately I lost about half that amount in the stock market in the last 4 days, so I'm "out." (Haha ... plus I'm NOT completely crazy ... just a little bit ) Cheers, Emile
  22. Haha ... good luck. But for your info, had a VTA-70 that I tried to sell here. Almost brand new, had $1200 in it (incl. a headphone tube amp), sold it for $700 Don't think they "hold their value." Wasn't too impressed with them. Cheers, Emile
