  1. Until recently, I've thought of Class D as being cheap, crap amps. Just shows how wrong assumptions can be. These things are unbelievably detailed.
  2. Another forum member started this thread a few months back. You may find some helpful information here. https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/203853-the-perfect-integrated-doesn’t-exist…and-it’s-annoying/ Also started by the same forum member, but an all together different product... https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/204523-topping-pa5-is-incredible/ And, a number of users really like the offerings from Schiit Audio.
  3. I've seen mentioned in other threads the idea that amplifiers have a "sweet spot" that is usually more toward the high end of their power output range rather than at the bottom. Can you more knowledgeable folks address that? If it is true, it seems a flea watt would actually be a superior choice for high efficiency Klipsch speakers.
  4. I've gotten my hearing tested about every five years since my mid-fifties. That first test showed a slight loss in the highest frequencies. Each subsequent test the loss has gotten a little more severe and moved further down in the frequency range, but it still isn't too bad...nothing that can be improved with hearing aids. What has caused me more problems over time is the tinnitus. That causes problems hearing things like female speech when there are competing noises. As you might imagine, my wife is not particularly happy with that. It doesn't seem to cause much problem when I'm listening to music. I've always listened with my tone controls flat. When I get everything set up in the house, I'm going to do some testing with an SPL meter and see if I need to do some tweaking.
  5. After living with the ACA for several weeks, what are your thoughts?
  6. Since you don't have to worry about a phono section, you should be able to find a small, moderate powered integrated amp on Craigslist, eBay or Facebook Marketplace.
  7. The Klipsch Heritage line of speakers sound really good. If your current system is just okay, maybe you should check them out. 🤣
  8. And, we've not veered off topic. Wobbled a little, but still on the road. 😉
  9. I've got to buy an SPL meter. When you look at the charts that give examples at various levels every example they give is something I wouldn't want to experience without hearing protection. However, I imagine music through good speakers might be quite different. I don't think I would ever regularly listen at that level, but I want to know what it is like.
  10. Don't give up. I plan to do this after I get back in the house and have everything set up. I need access to my tools, too. I'm curious what my results will be.
  11. I'll bet you did. We bought it on a cruise...LOL
  12. Did you look through some of her other pictures in the same series? I think she does some really fun stuff. Music and joy...how can you go wrong? 😃
  13. We lost our house to a fire back in June and most of our art was destroyed. One picture in particular always brought me a lot of joy and I suspect I will look for another copy. This is "Peaceful Feelings" from an Israeli artist named Dorit Levi.
  14. It's much like conversation at a party. I rather like it
  15. @Full Range You have some very interesting art. Thank you for sharing.
  16. That piano black is stunning! Black is a tough color to pull off because it shows every flaw.
  17. Well...on my BlueOS interface the quality indicator is there but greyed. It is not a link. More research is needed. I just searched a BlueOS support forum and found that there is a convoluted way of finding the information, but it is not conveniently displayed on the main screen. There seems to be a lot of demand for it from the users, so maybe it will be in a future update. There have been a number of improvement updates in the few months I've owned the streamer, so I'm hopeful. In the meantime, I'll just keep listening.
  18. I'll check this out after my wife wakes up...LOL I'm using the BlueOS interface on my iPad. It looks different than your screenshots, but I know I've seen the quality indicator. I've never tried clicking on it to see if it led to more information. Thanks for the tips.
  19. How do you tell what bit rate you're getting? I haven't found anything in my system that tells me, but maybe I'm just not looking in the right place.
  20. If there was a WOW! emoji available, I would have used it. Very cool.
  21. And, here I was going to suggest something radical like Locktite. 😉
