  1. I have T-Mobile Wifi internet service and I'm quite happy with it. Unfortunately, it is not available everywhere, but it might be worth checking. I think their normal rate is $50-60 a month and I've gotten as high as 420 GB download speed. I've had their newest 5G service for about five months and it has been very reliable.
  2. Love the blue tape wiring harnesses...😄
  3. Henry's comment about getting "bit" reminded me of a story that has absolutely nothing to do with this thread, but I think some of you will relate. I have a Buggera tube guitar amplifier that came through my house fire relatively unscathed. Somewhere along the line, though, it must have gotten banged around a little because when I fired it up, there was a pop and it died. New fuse...pop. Took it to a local store who farms the repair work out to the only guy in town who repairs tube amps. A couple of days later, I get a call that the amp is ready. When I picked it up, the guy at the music store said the repairman had told him the Buggeras are great little amps, but they are built on a PCB and he had received a rather potent shock as soon as he started working on it. I guess that might be a case for point-to-point wiring.
  4. I will check that out. I have some ideas in mind for what I think I would like to see as a beginning builder, but having something to start with would be a huge help. Thank you for the heads up!
  5. I'm thrilled to have something to contribute to this project. I have zero experience building tube amps, so I'm following this thread and trying to learn. Spreadsheets, on the other hand, I can do...LOL
  6. I will volunteer to create a parts list spreadsheet. It may take a little time because there may need to be a little back and forth to make sure I get it correct, but I don't get the sense that there is a huge rush.
  7. Oh, the things I've missed being on vacation. I'm excited to see where this all goes @henry4841! Would you ever consider creating a set of instructions and packaging a "kit" version for those who want that DIY experience?
  8. Really amazing! Thank you for sharing.
  9. If you're using a water-base poly, you shouldn't have a problem applying and letting it dry in the house. I've done it and it doesn't even smell bad. Applying in the house then moving it to the garage to dry increases the chance of it developing a milky haze (blush), even if it is a dry heat. If it was me, I wouldn't risk it.
  10. I wanted to run all my cables through sage bundle smoke, but my wife doesn't like the smell. Maybe I can do it outside on my smoker. 😉
  11. Perhaps I misunderstood and apologize if so. I hear similar things from a couple of my friends, but they do believe them as facts.

  13. You know we were all hoping you would confess to something embarrassing. 🤣
  14. Are you using Tune In? I've just got to ask...what in the world have you been doing with that PC that it is not allowed online? LOL

    RIP- Rusty Young

A buddy of mine was in Nashville a couple of years back and was in one of the bars on Broadway listening to a band of relative youngsters. The exception was a much older pedal steel player who turned out to be Rusty Young. Loved Poco. What voices!
  16. Forte III in the Des Moines, Iowa area. Come on by. I might even share my Wild Turkey with you.

    What I Got Today!

My new media console showed up today. It's nice to be able to have everything in one place. I think we ordered this in October.
  18. Not to sound greedy, but can you up it to two? All of my media is in stereo. 😄
  19. Why does this bother you so much? Are those of us with limited resources unworthy to enjoy this hobby? I'm sorry for being snarky, but I really don't understand why you feel the need to make this comment whenever people mention costs vs. benefits.
  20. WOW! Congratulations...that may be the deal of the decade!
  21. When I was shopping for speakers, I went to a Klipsch Heritage dealer wanting to listen to Heresy IVs. My listening space is in a room with a volume of slightly over 6,000 cu. ft. and the dealer told me I would probably be underwhelmed with the Heresy in that space and moved me up to the Forte's. For me, they work great. But, I don't have a sub and probably won't. I'm also not one who is willing to spend tons of money to get small improvements. I'm more the bang-for-the-buck person. Fortunately, my wife really likes the Fortes too.
  22. @Shakeydeal and @Westcoastdrums were both having custom amps built by him. Maybe they know something. I seem to remember him saying something about a health scare a couple of months back. I may be remembering something incorrectly, though.
