  1. 5:00...popping a beer. Will need plenty of harder stuff to tolerate watching Da Bears. I wonder if they will show up and it will be a game or if the Cowboys will kick their butts. Is Romo healthy?
  2. I see that 1700 has 325 wpc...what pre are you using? Is his stuff restored or just "tested & working"? I like the $179 price tag.
  3. I want to pick up an integrated amp to drive KP-320's for occasional outside use. I have all Winter to research. Something small and durable and easy to go in and out with. A forum member had a Cambridge rated at 60 WPC, but I'm thinking I want more power. What series is your 1700?
  4. That's funny! Is that Ben? Mice haven't been that lucky in my basement lately. Weeks go by nothing, but then we might get two in one night. We have a half dozen traps set in the utility room all within a couple feet of one another. A few months back, one did manage to crawl about twenty feet out of the utility room into the main basement with the trap. Heard this squeaking noise and thought it was a bat. Minermark, what model are your QSC amps? Are they integrated or are you using a pre-amp too?
  5. We cook up about 2 gallons, i get a day with it then the wife takes over, she likes her spices, so in the last few years i split the pot, she gets to do anything she wants to hers, and i like mine on the mellow side. Thanks guys...big pot of chili on the stove. I too wish I had some venison instead of beef. Been too long since I got a deer (2006). Mid rut now. Need to get my azz in one of my stands with my bow. Maybe next week. #$%^ing DNR has wiped out too many overly reacting to chronic wasting disease. Folks that don't approve of hunting deer need to know how sickening it is how the DNR have killed thousands and thousands of healthy deer, and let the coyotes have them.
  6. Pants? Pants? Maybe a speaker condom would have protected these but I don't think pants are the culprit.
  7. I'll take them and the center. When do you think you can deliver them? I have oak KG 1.5's, I will use as surrounds. I will have a stocking with your name on it,...and a spiked eggnog!
  8. I was suggesting pure direct simply as an a/b comparison with his 35's and a mode to use as a constant. He was happy with his 35's.
  9. Derrick, Carl and others, what resistors should be used. You indicated transistors from PE, but it is only one resistor per speaker, correct? I have been running mine stock for 11 years and haven't experienced the harshness...maybe my amp, room or a combination. I have log walls and a high vaulted ceiling. If the consensus is the resistor mod can only improve, I would be up for it sometime in the future. Please post thread link for the mod. Matt, as it has already been beaten here, let us know how the Emo or other amps compare. I know when I first hooked my RF-7's up to a vintage Sansui 9090DB SS receiver, I was blown away. Then when I hooked them up to my Outlaw pre/pro and amp, something seemed to be missing, but after full calibration and using Bypass mode, it was solved. Does your Onkyo have a bypass mode for pure stereo audio to use to A/B your RF-7's and 35's?
  10. thebes, I have four 1.5's that I may hook up as a 2nd surround system, maybe use two as fronts and two as surrounds. I am curious what you are using as a center and sub, and what you are powering them with. I was a tad concerned that the 1.5's could potentially receive some loud main/surround signals, that could potentially blow them.
  11. dtel, consider yourself very lucky. I broke out the flannel lined jeans, coats, hats and gloves last week and it's not going to get above freezing here till Wednesday. 20 degrees below normal and teens at night. Been so busy splitting wood, not sure how much we have. At lest 4 full cords, all harvested from the property. Been heating the shack with two wood stoves for the last 12 years, alternating between basement and main floor. Just cut up several pounds of stew beef and have it slow cooking in a Griswold Dutch oven on top of the basement stove. I'll post a pic later this afternoon when it is done. Pulls apart and makes great beef sandwiches.
  12. Why is it that despite acquiring 20 Klipsch speakers with 8 often speaking simultaneously, my wife is still talking over them?
  13. Free massage? Time to straighten pictures and move items away from the edge. I was freakin out that I blew one of my RF-7 woofers. Turned out a small picture slipped down between the speaker and grill when I moved the speaker a few inches. I'm the dumb *** for not taking the picture off the top of the speaker. Was relieved that was causing the rattle as opposed to a blown woofer.
  14. Check out the "last blu-ray you watched" thread. Comments there warned of excessive ultra LFE and crazy mixing in Edge of Tomorrow that potentially could damage subs. Haven't seen the movie yet, but this wakened me to be careful. Interesting that "War of the Worlds" with Tom Cruise, even non-Blu-ray, was one of the most impressive sound effects movie I've heard in HT.
  15. Tigerwood, I have an SL-Q3 I took out of retirement a few months back. Reviewed the manual and made adjustments. Was using it for a month or so, and it started having a mind of it's own. When starting, it would go over to the LP, rest down and then lift right back up and go back and stop. Tried several LP's and with and without an old Discwasher anti-static mat. Any ideas why this is going on? I couldn't override it manually. Irritates the heck out of me. Maybe I should start over with the adjustments? Wish I could just simply bypass the automatic start and default manual mode. I also have a SL-DL1 linear tracking model that isn't advancing over manually or automatically. Tried cleaning up the rails, and thought maybe a tad amount of white lithium grease would work, but I need to be able to move it back and forth on the rails to clean up the old grease and apply new. Any recommendations? Thanks!
  16. Several come to mind. I wouldn't just stick in a corner. Perhaps...
  17. I sold one pictured below in July and I see the difference you are referring to. Back panel, inputs, etc look the same. Likely just a branding mod for a specific retailer. You can confirm with Klipsch. I wouldn't lose any sleep.

    Why

Youthman, have you used the Harpoon brand above? They seem like a good deal direct form Sewell 8 pairs for $28.95. They look different from the first ones you pictured.
  19. Have a great Birthday! Go have some real fun!
  20. Roger, I see you have several Nakamichi amps. I had a PA7A-II I sold earlier this year that I wish I held on to. I wasn't using it and needed the money and got $925 for it. Are you using two PA-7II's for just your center channel? Do you have pics posted here somewhere of your systems? Must be one heck of a HT!
  21. Congratulations and welcome to the forum! I have been driving mine for a few months with a Sansui 9090db and am very happy with the match. Yes, please post pics. I'm guessing you may be up late tonight. Have fun!
  22. +1 for Outlaw for the value. FWIW, I have had their model 770 (7 x 200W) for 11 years and use it for every-day TV viewing (and a lot of music). The build quality is solid. My only complaint would be a brief slight low volume click/pop when powering it on. I power it on via 12v dc trigger. I was told normal capacitance was the cause. No biggie.
  23. Yes, me too. I sent an email well over an hour ago, no reply.
  24. Good one. You may have caught some dirty looks if you went as Dr. Mike Hunt.
