  1. I like Heinekin dark. I made sure the room temp display bottle at the bar was always fresh.
  2. I just recently got the Bar 48. I have the HDMI (Arc) from my TV going into the soundbar. Numerous times the audio would just go out, and I'd have to fiddle around with the inputs on the remote to get the sound back. I'm not sure why this is happening. When I switched to the optical cable, everything seems fine, but then I lose the benefits of the HDMI Arc. Has anyone encountered this issue?
  3. I was president of a softball league (the Bar League) in the 80's and our league was sponsored by a beer distributor. Since he gave us money I tried to drink his products at our games. The problem? He sold Old English 800, Weidemann, and Pabst.🤮
  4. Veedon works too. I'm partial to that lp though. Back in the 70's a DJ friend told me he was gonna be playing unannounced in Dayton, Ohio at such & such bar and wanted me to come down so I did. This bar was truly a such & such bar. Small, decent bar w/a couple people working. I thought no way, not in this place cause it was just a lil bar w/room for maybe 100 people. We hooked up and I told him he was crazy and told him there was no way it was coming down. He just said don't ask anyone and watch. An hour later he walked in with his guitar. He pulled up a chair and sat down in the back to play. That was it. Zero entourage, nooooo body and all alone. Pretty much stayed that way all evening. Just locals and him. Crazy night but we both loved it. He did the entire album that night along w/some other stuff he liked. No autographs, no pics, nada. Just him playing and enjoying himself w/people he didn't even know. How or why he was there I don't know. My buddy said people at the station mentioned it but no one showed up. How they found out I'll never know. I wound up spending the night and had to buy breakfast. Crazy but killer. Wish I knew WHY he was in Dayton. If ppl had cells the place would have been wall to wall. All I got was a handshake. He said he just felt like playing there. Crazy.
  5. I’ve got cracking in my wireless Surround 3 speakers connected to my Bar 48. It’s intermittently R or L or both at once & seems to come when I’m switching a channel or source. Switching surround mode off eliminates it until I turn surround mode back on, however unplugging the surround speaker seems to reset it resulting in no crackling. At first I thought it was cable related, but occurs with both comcast and ATV, then I thought it was related to using the dialogue mode, but that wasn’t it either. Looks like other folks have the same problem on the forum but I don’t see any answers there. I’m wondering if the issue is WiFi related and unplugging the surround speaker resets it’s little WiFi chip or settings? I don’t have to re-pair the unit to the Bar 48 after repowering the unit which makes me thing it’s not resetting to a default mode…any suggestions on preventing this intermittent crackling?
  6. Thanks to everyone here for detailed instructions and pictures. I was able to revive my Cinema 600!!! I know this is the "Bar 48 No-Power Repair Thread" but there was a lot of information about fixing the Cinema 600 as well and everything worked out perfectly! Thanks again to all who contributed to this thread!
  7. Hello everyone! I'm afraid it's been a few "minutes" since I last posted. For those of you who may remember me, I completed the building of my Klipsch HT back in 2004 and since that time, there have only needed to be a few equipment upgrades and repairs. But the theater is still very much alive-and-well. The mains are RF7 (first edition), center is an RC7, Surrounds are RS7 and rear are in-walls that are very similar to the R-5800 W II. The original subwoofer was an RSW-15. I started out with a 78" Stewart Filmscreen and a Sharp DLP Projector. Those have since been replaced with a 75" Samsung Series 8 flat-screen. Of course, over time, I upgraded the Pioneer Elite DVD player to a Blu-Ray and then again to a Panasonic 4K Blu-Ray player. My flagship, Pioneer Elite VSX-49TXi receiver is still kicking after having to replace the DSP card about 8 years ago, but it does not have any HDMI interface! Therefore, a lot of stuff is accomplished effectively using the 7.1 discreet inputs and outputs on the Panasonic 4K Blu-Ray player and the 5.1 (SPDIF) optical outputs from the video screen. Somehow it all works and is still impressive (to me). That brings us to the subwoofer: My trusty RSW-15 (circa 2004) has been a real powerhouse of a sub. I found it to be viscerally impactive during motion picture scenes and because we collect a lot of music concert videos, the RSW-15 is also extremely musical, including with my CD collection and vinyl, in my humble opinion. So then, why replace it? First, the sub is now 19 years old. Back in 2015, I had the internal amp's power supply let go when the 15" driver's voice coil went to ground. I had a local lab repair the amp and I replaced the driver with a new Klipsch OEM driver, thanks to the Klipsch parts department inventory. It was an expensive repair, but it bought me another 7 years use out of the sub. It failed again last September (2022). So, having been without a sub for the past 11 months (brutal, huh? LOL), I finally had saved up enough money to buy a proper replacement: The new, RP-1600SW. The 110-pound sub (137 pounds shipping) took exactly one week to arrive (free shipping - Thank you Klipsch!) and this past Tuesday, this enormous, semi truck with a 48-foot trailer pulled up in front of my little house and delivered this monster of a sub to my garage. The box was 29" x 30" and would not fit through my 29" side door to the basement. So, my son Bill and I unboxed it outside and moved it downstairs with an appliance dolly. We temporarily placed it on the floor below our screen and in front of our theater seats. I must build a small platform to support it before I can install it in it's permanent spot, beneath our theater's bar, where the old RSW-15 had always sat, behind the theater seats and set to 180 degrees phase. FIRST IMPRESSIONS: After a busy day of installing the sub and and another day where I had other obligations, yesterday, I was finally able to re-calibrate my system with Pioneer's on-board, MCACC acoustic calibration system. It had been several years since I last needed to re-calibrate, so back to the Pioneer Elite owner's manual I went, as I no longer could recall the exact procedure. After about an hour of "beeps" and "boops" and fiddling with some settings manually, I began using source material that I am very familial with, to fine-tune the system to my ears liking. I wound up with the two front RF7s set to large, all the other speakers set to small, the sub set to plus, the crossover frequency set to 80HZ so the RF7s can go deep and I added 3db volume to the rear channels and 2db volume to the sub. As for the sub settings, Phase is set to zero, low pass is set to 150HZ and volume is set to 9 out of 11. Yes, those design geeks at Klipsch do have a sense of humor: It's the only volume control I have that actually goes to "11"! The source material I used for now was Master & Commander DVD scene 4 "Under Attack", one heck of a canon-ball battle, the first couple of songs on the 1999 concert DVD of Peter Frampton: Live in Detroit and Top Gun Maverick, which I am seeing for the very first time (Wow, what a movie!). I found immediately that the 1600 goes much deeper than the RSW-15. The visceral elements I had with the 15 were still there with the 1600 only better. Musically, I think I would say that I found the 1600 to be even more musical that the 15. It's subtlety has more finesse than the 15. The front port of the 1600 moves an incredible amount of air! In some scenes I thought we had the floor fan on!! Because of the 1600's exclusive, port design, not once did I hear any port "chuffing"! Nice job, Klipsch! It's incredible how much excursion the 16" driver has on the 1600! Overall, for the moment, I must say I am not disappointed with my purchase. I'm impressed. And I believe that once I get this monster under our bar in it's own little false corner, this sub is only going to sound better! Stay Tuned!
  8. New here. I was a big fan of A/D/S before i got my First set of Heresys. As far as moving away . lol I now own 2 set of heresys with a extra one i was using in a surround setup. A set of Belles for my main setup and a set of chorus 2 in my bar. I also have a set of 650 outdoor speakers and 2 650 rocks. There is no moving away. lol
  9. Hi everyone, rookie here and just after some advice. Anyway, had a great night on the punt last week and figured what the hell, let's finally listen to all this vinyl(as opposed to the cd I'd buy at the same time) that I've collected over 20+ years. 95% of it fits into the punk rock genre, ie. Fatwreck, epitaph, lookout, dischord, nitro labels, etc etc. Being that there's no nearby hifi store and being one that's not exactly reckless or risk avoidant, I dived into some online stores and then cross referenced things with google/YouTube reviews. I ended up with: Debut carbon Evo w/2m Red Rotel A11 Tribute integrated amp Klipsch The Sixes Speakers Now I'm positive there's no issue with the turntable and amp combination but having done further reading I'm now second guessing my choice of speakers. Because the speakers have a built in amp and I don't intend to add a CD player at any time, should I have just purchased a phono pre-amp instead? I say that because I understand the inbuilt phono amp is rubbish. Is the amp basically useless now bar the phono? I spent $900 on the Rotel, $750 on the turntable and $1300 on the Klipsch sixes, this is all Australian dollerydoos. Ive opened the Rotel but understand I can return the amp with no penalty. The speakers which arrive in a couple of days, not so much. If you've made it this far down, I thank you and sorry for the long post. Yesterday I was confident but now having gone down the rabbit hole I'm second guessing myself or having a light bulb moment so before I stuff up monumentally I'd appreciate any feedback or suggestions. Cheers
  10. I bought the Bar 40 soundbar recently and connected it to the TV via optical cable and have not been able to get any sound. I've tried all options including turning off the internal speakers on the TV and plugging into other components with optical ports and still nothing. I've tried the cable on my other sound system and its fine. So I updated the firmware as per the Klipsch Youtube video that is linked on the Klipsch offical site. Summary of video: Download firmware from site. Extract `system` folder onto blank USB. Unplug power to Bar 40. Plug in USB. Plug in power. Cycle Source until Source LED is blank. Wait until all LED turns off and starts to blink. Unplug power to Bar and remove USB. Plug power back. Multiple problems arise: 1. Klipsch remote control stopped working. I've tried new batteries but the Bar 40 does not respond to the remote control. 2. Bluetooth audio stopped working Bluetooth used to play media from the phones I connected to but the speaker does not play sound anymore. The source blue LED will be solid (meaning connected) but no sound comes through even when the volume is maxed on both device and speaker. 3. Optical still does not work. Still not audio coming from TV after firmware update. Tried turning off the speakers through TV settings, switched the digital audio format to both PCM and Digital, neither worked. Additional information: When I switch the source to optical, red LED will be solid for a second or 2 and then blink. This happens to the rest of the sources as well. (makes sense with bluetooth but not for optical)
  11. This guy @MicroMara His first solo after Duane Allman passed in '71. Highway Call was released in 1974. Give it a listen cause it's story time!!! 😂 ^^^ Don't know who posted it on youtube but that's his signature. They hit Cleveland so I was hangin ready to eat after the show. Yup, we had just the place. The Flat Iron. https://www.flatironcafe.com/history.html Those guys ALWAYS had a good time so we hit it for vittles and refreshments. Got to talkin about things to do up on the North coast of Ohio so I mentioned hitting Cedar Point an hour West in Sandusky. Best coasters on the planet and a great time for the families w/kids, etc. https://www.cedarpoint.com/ Yup, they were down. Unc drove the bus and a few of us drove by ourselves. We got there and Duane said he wanted to go eat and have a few beers but not at some park w/a couple million people. Ok, we hit a lil Italian bar I knew of w/great food. No one had a clue who we were and we had one H3LL of a time. I just had to have him back at the bus so he could roll out w/the rest of the gaggle. lolol It worked and I became one of the tour guides for em every time they hit Cleveland. I woke up in the bar parking lot the next morning and drove home a survivor. People wonder WHY they built the Rock Hall of Fame in Cleveland? Seriously? 😂 😂 Today the lil Italian bar is gone and tbh I can't even tell you what's there today. THAT was a weekend I'll NEVER forget. Young, dumb and a pair waaay bigger than my head but I survived it. First time I saw Tedeschi -Trucks was in Ft Wayne, Indiana so I walked over to the merch table and filled my shorts. There was Unc! Yup, he's still drivin and we had some laffs. So if you ever see TTB look for the old fat white haired guy hangin around in bibs counting money. lolol Tell him his Cleveland tour guide said hello and watch his reaction. He acts stupid he's checkin you out, whip the story on him and watch! That's my story and I'm stickin to it.
  12. I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place to post but I'll give it a shot. Trying to get a Cinema 400 Sound Bar to pair with the woofer and get audio from the woofer. Followed the printed instructions. Currently have audio from the sound bar but nothing from the woofer. Opened a ticket with Klipsch tech weeks ago but get no response. Tried calling. Tried email. Sound bar has a red light. Printed instructions don't have a legend for the light. Toggle through sources and get blue, green, both with no audio. Replaced HDMI w ARC labeled cable. Tried just optical. Nothing. Reset per printed instructions and repair. Nothing. Can anyone direct me to a knowledgable source or experienced this themselves? I like the build quality on the product. I like the industrial design. Just very frustrating trying to get a solution. Thanks in advance.
  13. Blah a day of football and a crock pot of bean soup. Temps dropping into the mid to low 20's tonight and a chance of snow coming into the week. Think I'll head up and crash. Yungest called last evening from Phoenix and the lil camera shop she goes to was having a black Friday sale. Couple decent deals on shrink wraps of film and cheap developing cards. I think she fished me. Told me it wouldn't take her Visa cause it was down but WOULD take my Mastercard since it was working ok. Only cost me 200$. 😂 Checked in this morning prior to the OSU game to get her set up w/my old camera gear to use @ the Alumni Club game day only to find out she didn't know if she was going. She'd been out shooting wild broncos she said. lolol Seeing any similarities w/the film/developing cards yet? lol Must be a new kid in town. Her green beret was going to head over to Israel to make some fast cash so she kicked him to the curb. Told me she showed him some of my gear and said he was all impressed. lolol Prolly figured I'd do some nosin on him. Then I saw her doin some Texas two-step w/some big dude in a bar this morning on fb. Who the heck knows? Maybe he had a dog.
  14. I’m a bit of a home audio noob, but I currently have a 5.1 setup in my home. Moving in January to a new house without existing wiring for 5.1, so considering the Bar 48, but curious if I can utilize this setup with my current Yamaha receiver, or if I can/need to forgo the receiver and just hook up the bar directly to the TV. Thanks!
  15. I am going to begin finishing our basement in the next few months and am in the planning phase right now when it comes to the stereo setup. it won’t be a dedicated home theater exactly, more of a family room with a heavy bias towards a great area to watch movies and sports. I have RF7’s for the L/R. A RC7 for now that I’ll upgrade to RC64 eventually for my center. The room is a little in the longer side with a bar in the back on one side of the room and the entry hallway on the other side, so there is not anywhere to put traditional rear speakers on a wall or anything. I will have to do in ceiling speakers behind the seating area for my rear surrounds. There will be room for in wall surround speakers on the sides as well. the plan would be a 7.1 system. So what I’m needing is as nice of an in ceiling speaker as I can get that will work with RF7’s and a RC64 in the front. I’ll try to get a drawing uploaded here as well that might help visualize this more. But I’m leaning toward PRO-180RPC for those two rear surrounds in the ceiling and two PRO-180RPW for the in wall speakers. I can’t help but think an in ceiling speaker that can be aimed a little bit might be an ideal fit for those two rear speakers, but is the PRO-18RC on par with the 180RPC in terms of performance? Is there anything else I should be considering that I haven’t listed out? I’m open to suggestions.
  16. Here are a couple pictures of the actual room. you can see on the far wall where I’ve roughly outlined in blue painters tape where an 85” tv will go with some built in cabinetry on either side. There is a blue X marked on the wall where one of the side surrounds would go. Up in the ceiling I have a a blue X outlined in red where I’m talking about placing these in ceiling speakers. You can also kind of see what I mean about not having a spot to put traditional rear speakers. Half of that area is an open entryway into the room and the other half is where a bar will go.
  17. I was provided a Cinema 600 warranty replacement for my BAR 48 which had a multitude of issues. The BAR 48 was supposed to support Dolby Digital Plus which can provide CD quality audio but it never worked. I was never able to get Dolby Digital Plus working with my Cinema 600 then Klipsch admitted that the Cinema 600 doesn't support Dolby Digital Plus so the replacement didn't provide the same features that the BAR 48 was supposed to provide. Before I could discuss the matter with Klipsch, the Cinema 600 dropped dead! Long story short, I now have a Cinema 800 and still using the same Surround 3s that I purchased with my BAR 48. Most of My BAR 48 issues appear to have been resolved in the Cinema 600 and now my Cinema 800 supports Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby Atmos. The Cinema 800 is everything the BAR 48 should have been! The Cinema 800 has had its issues, most of which have been firmware related. Klipsch has just provided me with their latest firmware update which looks very promising. While the crackling sound you hear may be due to an issue with the Surround 3s, some customers have reported that issue has been resolved with the latest firmware update to their Cinema 800 soundbar which will also update the firmware in the Surround 3s. I understand your issues trying to get a warranty exchange on your Cinema 600. Klipsch may be more sympathetic if you explain that you had a BAR 48 with many issues, that you purchased the Cinema 600 as a replacement and didn't seek a warranty replacement on your BAR 48. You may still be able to return your new Cinema 600 to Best Buy and wrangle a Cinema 800 as a replacement from Klipsch, if you are lucky. Let us know what transpires.
  18. Recently purchased the 600 Soundbar and reference three set for 5.1. Question: Can we upgrade this to 7.1 by adding more speakers if so which ones? thank you for your time and response. MN dad
  19. I recently moved to Texas, and I still find myself talking about sleds down here. It's all the cool little stops along the trails that you remember....Pine Lake Lodge has the best burger I've ever had. The Great Northern has awesome brats, their lobby is full of stuffed animals. And all the people up there are so friendly. Everything is so clean, no scumbags, gang bangers, conmen, just great people. There's a place we have been staying at for 40 years in Mercer Wisconsin. The owner will leave for bed around midnight, about 6-8 of us will stay in the bar. She says write down what you had, here's the keys, pay me later! Now that's service.
  20. Hi all, we we have had our sound bar for about 2 years now. We just are now having the same issue going from 0 to 100 with out pressing the volume button. Did anyone com with the fix? We have tried everything except the firm update. What is puzzling is what it started now after working so well for 2 years. Any advice is appreciated. Roger
  21. Hello. Last week I purchased the Icon SB-1 sound bar and wireless woofer. I think the sound bar is great, but I'm not very happy about the sub woofer. It doesn't have any punch at all, even while playing music. VERY Sad.
  22. Hello, I purchased the Klipsch cinema 1200 soudbar yesterday and I can't do anything with this system. 1. Volume is stuck at 30, can't change that 2. Can't pair bluetooth 3. Klipsch connect app does not detect my sound bar. 4. Tried doing firmware upgrade. Steps 1 (DSP) and 2 (MCU) went fine but got stuck with step 3 (WIFI). Current firmwares are as follows MCU V118 WIFI (that's it, no version) DSP 5.4 SUR T82 SUR R82 SUR L82 SUB T03 SUB R06 HDMI 43 I have created a support request with Klipsch, meanwhile looking for help here on this forum. Has anyone else experienced similar problem? Thanks, Subi
  23. Hoping to get some feedback / recommendations for the best Klipsch soundbar to go with between the Cinema 600 vs the Bar 48? Anyone tried these that can give some thoughts and impressions between the two? They both cost $499 each. I'm not really sold on "wireless" vs hardwired. And front firing would be better for the sub. But, unfortunately, the soundbars all come with down firing subs. Plus, I live in an upstairs apartment with a woman in her 60's below me. Her living room is right below mine. So, I'm not sure if a soundbar is gonna be the best option for my living situation or maybe another set-up such as either satellites or bookshelf speakers with a front firing sub. What do you guys think?
  24. Out listening to the piano man at the local bar. This dog belongs to my neighbor at the end of my street. He’s busy getting drunk and trying to hit on all the young girls. His dog is pretty nice though.
  25. Hey everyone. First time posting here. I have a Bar 48 Soundbar and a Toshiba Fire TV and I'm having a problem connecting the audio with the provided HDMI cable. It's not working. The sound is great and works fine with the optical cable but nothing with the HDMI. Am I missing something? I've searched all over for answers on this. Is there some trick I'm missing? Any help would be great. Thanks.
