beelzebub
here it is folks... i'm looking for a tower that can jam like hell for metal without having to use a sub. i plan on powering these towers with 2 emotiva xpa-1's. each speaker will be getting 500 watts. i keep getting mislead on which speaker to go with. alot of people recommend the rf-83's and the cornwall lll's. from looking at the specs the cornwalls play down to 34hz and the rf83's 29hz. i'm looking for solid chest pounding kick-drum, clear midrange, and massive drop-tune guitar midbass! straight up guys... for some serious balls to the wall, what speaker should i go with? i don't want pa monitors. my room is medium to large. http://www.emotiva.com/xpa1.shtm
oldtimer
You might also look at Forte II's, or are you just thinking new?
ricktate
Hi how do you like tose amps? They look pretty cool as far as speakers i would go with RF7s or RF83s for new speakers. If you can try some used ones maybe Klipschorns but they need corners. Maybe you could go listen to different members systems.Rick

beelzebub
those jubilee's are massive. wouldn't you have to build your cab to do this project?
jacksonbart
Cornwall 3s. Are you wearing a manzier in your Avatar?
BuyOtherSoundEquipment
http://www.klipsch.com/products/details/kpt-mcm-4-t-grand.aspx Sure they're over 8 feet tall, but they will have the "balls" you're after. And as a bonus, you can sell your house and use one of the bass bins as a cozy little cottage!
CECAA850
Cornwall 3s. Are you wearing a manzier in your Avatar? Definitely a Bro. My vote is for the RF-7's. (biased)

kaiser SET say
Cornwall III and never look back...You and I have a different idea in TOWER full range speakers[] LOL Of course two pair stacked DiAppalito (sp) might represent the tower effect[]
Groomlakearea51
Stacked Cornwalls.... Throw in a Heresy as a center just to add that "flavor"[<)]
beelzebub
stacking cornwall's sound a little extreme. i don't think it would work. the midrange and highs would over power the 15"s
PhilMays
Just go with 2 emerson clock radio's tuned into your local AM rock station. I think placement and room treatments will be very important in this arrangement.
Deang
So, how much money you got? Your avatar is kind of disturbing.
jdm56
I vote cornwalls. I'd say LS2's, but you said no subs, so definitely cornwalls in the heritage line. For something a little more slim and trim and modern looking, go RF7's or RF83's.
