Islander
Do you have a picture showing both of your bass bins at the same time? I think everyone would like to see more pictures of your work, perhaps from the side and back as well.
The Dude
Wow I just came across this thread I remembered when he posted in garage sale section, seems like he really pulled through. I know he twisted his tongue a couple of times but looks like he kept up on his word. Good looking jubs ssc. duder
thefluffy
I was doing my usual ebay search when I came across this: http://cgi.ebay.com/Klipsch-Jubilee-CLONES_W0QQitemZ290340680071QQcmdZViewItemQQptZSpeakers_Subwoofers?hash=item4399a73187&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 These look to be SSCTROJAN's Klipsch Jubilee Clones. Now, this listing claims to be taking orders for manufacturing these. I can appreciate the desire to make these and listen to these. But, I take some issue with production and selling of these. I am pretty sure there are some legal issues here as well. Someone do correct me if I am wrong. Perhaps SSCTROJAN can confirm this is his ebay listing. I do not want this post to cause any arguing, etc. I just think people should see this. Daniel
CECAA850
They sure look like his. The veneer is offset like his was and a couple of the e-bay pics look identical to the ones that were posted here.
dkalsi
that is dangerous - this is a lawsuit waiting to happen. I would seriously recommend him calling it anything but Klipsch Jubilee Clones - He souldn't be doing this to begin with - but at the least he should not be making any reference to the Jubilees, (call it just bass-horn instead). jwc
Yep those are his. I guess nobody here wanted them. Wonder what the reserve is? I can say with experience.....building a pair of jubelike clones and dressing them up.........lots of time and diligence. Making a habit of selling them for $1500 with drivers will lose you money in the end. There is no patent on the jubilee plans. However...bad idea to use the word "Jubilee" in the description and title. jc
ssctrojan1980
The speakers you see on Ebay are not for sale. Those were sold long time ago as a few more sets have been sold also. I build them in my spare time and do enjoy it. Really don't care what anyone thinks. Not in it for money. If i was they would be like 3000 or something. People want this type of speaker but cannot afford the expensive brands.
ssctrojan1980
dkalsi is just pissed he had me build that first set for him and then backed out once they were completed. Said something like job issues. So i sold them. Didn't have room. Not my fault others contacted me and wanted me to build them a set also
jwc
I'm impressed that you will take 1500 for them. There is no denying...that is a deal. Just a friendly recommendation. I would say something like "like a jubilee", or "jubilee style build". Didn't realized you had made more than one pair..... jc
jwc
You may not come back to this thread but....what woofers will you put in there? If I were to put an off the shelf woofer in there...it would be the Eminence Kappalite 3012LF. Huge Xmax and the chamber volume and "throat midband efficiency" calculate close to the Klipsch K31's. Also Neo magnents. I'm no pro legal expert for sure. jc
ssctrojan1980
i only stuck klipsch in the title for search reasons. I have found so many good deals on ebay because of listing errors. someone listed something that did not get into right category or search so i am just making sure that they do get found. but i clearly say what it is not and what it is. you were right however jc, those pioneers do sound pretty good. ssctrojan1980
its so weird how snobby people can be. its like how dare you ever build anything that even resembles what i spent 10 million dollars on. and how dare you sell it for 20 dollars. i build horns also... i probably have 15 different horn designs setting around my house. no one gets pissy about custom horns just the cabinets.. lol. also just wondering.... i think you are a doctor, correct me if i'm wrong. what kind of dr are you?.... md, do, specialist? dkalsi
Curly, I'm not pissed at all - it was my misfortune that I could not buy these from you at the time you were selling them (at which point you and I both agreed that you could happily and very easily to sell them to someone else). Anyhow - my comment earlier was only to warn you that you may* get in trouble for advertising them as "Klipsch Jubilee Clones" - thats all I was trying to say. Goodluck with your business. MD Urologist I'm not being critical. Just impressed you can sell these for 1500. I see no way you could make a fortune doing that. That is a statement that you are building for satisfaction I presume. I'd be curious to know how the kappalites sound in there. Those woofers recently became available and wish they were around back when I built jubelike clones. jc

ssctrojan1980
yes..... 1500.00 per pair. Again, i build kitchen cabinets and other stuff for a hobby. I enjoy building those clone cabinets... I like the precision and craftsmanship it takes.
