bhendrix
Where is the best place to buy pan head, phillips, black oxide, 10-24 x 1" machine screws for woofer mounting? I need 32. Thanks
Moderators dtel Posted May 4, 2009 Moderators Share Posted May 4, 2009 The problem you will find is the black oxide part. When looking for screws for the MWM bins I could only find the black in certain sizes, I don't know why. I ended up using regular screws and spray painting them with black appliance paint, it is in a can like regular paint but is pretty tough when dry. You could probably find them on the internet somewhere ?
MechMan
Maybe Brafasco? What they don't make...they usually find.
Coytee
I recently bought some from this place, was a great transaction (needed 3 screws to hold injection pump onto gear for tractor) http://www.boltdepot.com/
colterphoto1
for pro gear you generally need 1/4" bolts Bill. #062019 is 1/4-20 x 1 1/2" phillips truss head black oxide from Klipsch parts. That's what I use in MWM, KSM2 and other cabinets with 15 and 18" woofies. M
JJkizak
Mcmaster.com. (Mcmaster Carr) They have everything that ever was, ship in one day, no minimum order, best constructed website in the USA, and sell to mormal people like us. JJK
bhendrix
Hi Michael, for pro gear you generally need 1/4" bolts Bill. True. I was surprised to see that the KP-600 use 1" 10-24 (3/16").
Speedball
I second Mcmaster Carr as a reliable source, with a HUGE catalog.

fini
I was surprised to find that Amazon sells screws, bolts, and other hardware. Sometimes you have to buy huge packages (like black oxide 10-24 screws), but mostly things are available in reasonable quantities. Nice if you're looking for something odd, not available at the HD ( like M-2.5 stainless bolts). Grainger is another possibility.
JJkizak
The problem with Grainger is they do not sell to us individuals, only companies. JJK

ricktate
Why do they need to be black??/ I would rather have stainless steel ones from westlake hardware....Rick
EdmundGTP
Pan head? Boring!!! Get yourself some sweet socket head cap screws, or if you want to be extra-fancy, get some mil spec 12 point aircraft screws. They'll run you a few bucks a piece but they will look bad-assed fo sho. For the icing on the cake you can get the heads cross drilled and then have a mechanic safety wire them in place for you so the vibrations don't back them out! [] Give it a look sort of like the circular bolt pattern on this rig.
