I suppose the NFL will now feel compelled to make further revisions to the overtime rules. After the Saints kept Farve off the field in 2009 that was totally unacceptable so they came up with the "Farve Rule". Now after Rothlesberger (spelling?) didn't get his shot in OT yesterday they will certainly come out with some newly modified "Farvelesberger" rule . . . [^o)]

Honestly, I think overtime should just be another quarter (or a slightly shorter period) with no changes to the rules. Keep doing that until it is settled. Sudden death is exciting but as mentioned leaves too much controversy.

Yes, like yesterday, it's not really fair that for one team, there defense is there only chance to win the game.

Strange coincidence ? Seen this in the news.........

"You ever feel like there's too much Tim Tebow news? Neither do I. Here's a roundup of some of the most interesting Timbits from the aftermath of the Denver Broncos 29-23 overtime victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

• The fact that Tebow had 316 yards passing and averaged 31.6 yards per pass in the game didn't escape notice on Sunday night. Tebow wore "John 3:16" on his eye black in the 2009 BCS Championship game and has since become identified with the famous Bible message. The coincidental stats caused millions of fans to perform Google searches on the Bible passage in the past 24 hours. Here's one more unbelievable stat: John Ourand of Sports Business Journal reports that the final quarter-hour television rating for the Broncos-Steelers game was, you guessed it, 31.6.

(John 3:16 reads: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.")

• Will Brinson of CBSSports.com has some more fun with Tebow numbers.

• Tebow earned $250,000 for the victory based on an incentive written into his contract. Since he took 70 percent of the team's snaps this season, he is entitled to a quarter-million dollars for every Broncos playoff victory.

[Related: Broncos given no choice but to embrace Tim Tebow]

• Twitter announced that 9,420 tweets per second were sent immediately after Tebow's overtime TD pass. That set a new sports record for the social media site.

• Wondering why James Brown, Dan Marino, Bill Cowher (!), Shannon Sharpe and Boomer Esiason took an elbow during the CBS postgame show?"

It always is.

I think he will be a great quarterback with more experiance, I would guess part of the sucess is talent mixed with good luck, but there is talent there.

The playoff rules are messed up and has been for a long time, all the players don't even understand it.

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/demaryius-thomas-didn-t-know-ot-touchdown-won-211230982.html

Demaryius Thomas knew he had scored a big touchdown in overtime against the Pittsburgh Steelers. For a brief moment, he didn't understand how big it was.

Because of the NFL's confusing, new overtime rules, Thomas thought the 80-yard touchdown pass he caught from Tim Tebow gave Denver seven points that Pittsburgh would have a chance to equal. It wasn't until he was celebrating with Champ Bailey, the team's star cornerback, that Thomas realized the game was over

Did anybody ever think that maybe the games should end in a tie?

They used to. People hated it, especially in college football. See Notre Dame vs Michigan State, 1966 for an especially egregious example.

And in pro ball, it can still end in a tie (during the regular season) if neither team scores in 15 minutes of OT.
