Kid: "yes, please, take those old pieces of crap ..hmmm, price? Well, I need enough to cover Modern Warfare 3 - how about $65?"

It happens. Back in the 70s I worked weekends at a stereo store in Big Spring, TX. Lots of rich ranchers (oil ranchers) around there. One of the kids brought in a brand new, stickers still on, Teac R2R and asked if we'd be interested in buying it. He said his dad bought it for him, but wouldn't give him the money to go on a ski trip to NM with his buds. I told him "we" weren't interested, but I'd give him a hundread bucks for it. It served me until a few years ago.

Don't be to critical in this situation you never know a "KID" I bought a nakimichi receiver off craigslist just for a listen, that sold for around 400 on the bay for 50.00. I spoke with the seller a young man of around 13 yrs of age and it was his fathers piece. I knew it was a little unfair but his mother wanted nothing to do with the amp and wanted it gone and once I knew it was his father's, I would give it back to him after an audition and let him keep the money. I gave it back to him told him the same old story, you may want this some day, you can keep the money just don't sell the item. Well it showed up on craigslist 3 weeks later, at least he held out for a little bit.
