I just turn off the heat when the water is boiling and I put them in.  It cooks them through and does not overcook them because the heat is lowering.

Never tried that, was always afraid it wouldn't cook through will try it.

Why do egg yolks turn GREY when hard boiled?
It happens because the iron from the yolk reacts with hydrogen sulfide from the white when it's been overcooked. Totally harmless, but it doesn't have to happen. Here's how to avoid it: learn to boil an egg for the right amount of time, because this reaction only happens when a boiled egg is overcooked.Jan 14, 2015

Blue Plate is very good, but Duke's has a more complex flavor that I'm willing to spend a little more for.

Here in Seattle, the water comes from reservoirs of runoff from the cascade mountains.  Around about October, tap water turns ice cold because it is fresh snow runoff.

Ive heard great things for Dukes and found it here in the KC netherlands. Must be many import taxes as it crosses state lines from the SE to KC. Pretty pricey compared to the standard Mayo's. I may scrap and save for the additional  $3 Dukes entrance fee. A retired couple has to watch their budget doncha' know ? For now I'm resisting -- ?!

I was surprised to find it here at Walmart.  I normally buy a couple of jars when I go to Hope, but now don't have to.  Would like to find it in smaller jars, cause I don't really use all that much......

An RO filter is perfect for coffee and you never have to worry about build up.  I've tied mine into the refrigerators icemaker as well.  It's a huge improvement over tap water or water that's been through a refrigerators filter.

I agree RO filter is good for mechanical things.   Never had to repair the ice maker.  Never have to clean the coffee maker.   I live in Minnesota and we have to run a few room humidifiers all winter.  Before RO,  we always had a layer of white dust on everything after a few weeks and plugged filters more often.   Now using RO water both issues disappeared.  But still think my coffee is missing something.  Earlier someone mentioned salt.  Tomorrow morning I am putting a couple grinds of the pink salt on top of the grounds. Hope that helps.  If it brings a little life back to my morning Joe,   I will be eager to find a burr grinder and use beans again like I did earlier in life.  Any recommendations for the cheapest yet adequate burr coffee bean grinders?

Yes Duke is the brand to beat!

Put eggs in a pot and cover with water.  Cook for 10 minutes for soft boiled.  This works for 3 or 4 eggs.

Now anything additional you young fellas need just ask:P

To say the least.

Once while hiking in the Smoky Mountains we came across a perfect looking stream with cold clear water. I thought I bet it taste great but decided not to try it and just stay thirsty. About a half a mile later we came across about a 150 pound dead deer in the stream. :o The stream didn't look as great any more as far as drinking went.
