oh, sorry about that ...  i understand now.  Haven’t ordered it yet ... i did check and they do have one now.  I got sidetracked because i was having a difficult time with my hearing aids. Now, i got news ones in September and returned them because i didn’t like them. I got some different ones and still in the trial period; but, i will keep them.

Talked to the doctor about my disappointment with the way music sounds using the hearing aids, and sadly, that is something that I just have to accept.

I pouted for a while, thinking maybe i won’t buy anymore guitars or stereo gear if i can’t hear things with a more natural sound -- but, now i’m just grateful that i can hear something and will move ahead with getting more and probably more guitars.

Any guesses on the gear?

Muntz TV?

Frank appears to be running a center speaker.  If so, he was way ahead of the curve.

Those appear to be custom enclosures, which could have housed some coaxials,  such as EV, Jensen,Tannoy, or the like.

Studio One, which still exists today, although the control room has been heavily modified over the years. It was a compression room...the back wall was all brick, the floor was asphalt tile, the right wall looking out to the studio was shelving with sliding doors. That's where we put the tapes, because we didn't have a tape vault. Then there was the glass window, and there were three Altec Lansing 604e loudspeakers .

powered by McIntosh tube amps.

The tape machine sat behind us; we had an old Ampex 200 three-track, which had separate record and playback electronics so that you could select separate record or playback curves. They had a thing

you know? Tubes still sounded the best. Anyway,

Don’t recall any stories about the Captain that were that strange ... some of the characters that i’ve met, i would never put those stories in print.

But since you asked, here is another Beefheart story.  He told me once that he was kicked out of a studio in London once because John Lennon asked that he be removed. The Captain said, “All I said was that Yoko Ono looked like a polly wog with mascara."
