The History Kid
Wasn't the Heresy originally designed to be the center channel in a setup?
Moderators Youthman Posted November 4, 2014 Moderators Share Posted November 4, 2014 Heresy over Academy any day of the week.

The History Kid
Wasn't the Heresy originally designed to be the center channel in a setup? http://www.klipsch.com/heresy-history Thought so. Heresy over Academy any day of the week. Agreed. Heresy is clearly the better speaker of the two.
Zappa Freak
I thought the Academy was developed as a center so it would be superior? (Checking specs now)
Zappa Freak
Paid more for one Academy than a set of Heresy LOL
The History Kid
The Heresy is arguably the first true center channel speaker. It would also compliment your Cornwalls much better than the Academy would. I've heard mixed opinions on Academy, but have never heard a word of hate for the Heresy. Spec wise, sound wise, and timbre wise...the Heresy is the clear choice. Edited November 4, 2014 by IbizaFlame
Zappa Freak
thanks for the info will use the heresy..... who wants to buy an Academy?
Ceptorman
If you have both, give them each a try, or are you selling your Acadamy to purchase a Heresy?
Zappa Freak
no switched them out already Flamer was correct Thanks guys.............................
JJkizak
At the time I purchased my K-horns in 1965 the Cornwall was the only center speaker available. Been using it ever since. JJK
Moderators Youthman Posted November 4, 2014 Moderators Share Posted November 4, 2014 Heresys are great, they just need a sub to handle the bottom end
Zappa Freak
would you be able to hook up both Heresy and Academy as the center Chanel?
Moderators dtel Posted November 8, 2014 Moderators Share Posted November 8, 2014 Sure you can but I would think but not a good idea for the best sound. imo
mustang guy
would you be able to hook up both Heresy and Academy as the center Chanel? I'm with dtel on this. Even using two Academy's or two Heresy's is a bad idea. If the Heresy isn't doing it for you, the next step is a Cornwall.
Moderators Youthman Posted November 8, 2014 Moderators Share Posted November 8, 2014 LaScala would work as well
Heritage_Head
The heresy1 has the same drivers as the cornwall1 (also same as khorn and LS). Its about as close as you can get other than another cornwall. One of the truly great bargains in the used market.
mustangerfourlife
I have cornwalls II paired up with heresy II wired together makes for a great center.I also had the klf 7 too a 3way matches up better so i would go with heresy for sure.Buy a pair you can always use both as a center channel or split them up. !center 1 rear center.mine were 4 ohms so thats why i wired them as one for a 8 ohm which sounds perfect with my cornwall II's
Budman
using the heresy is the clear winner here but don't get over excited, it ain't that good. try all 3 options. herey/academy/phantom ( no center at all ) i chose no center with my cornwalls and heresy rears
