ACM
Oh man, I'm sure I'll regret putting this up for sale... 299C, rebuilt by Craig (NOS Valves) summer 2014. Craig performed his deluxe rebuilds which includes test points on top of the chassis as well as bias adjustment. Instruction provided by Craig will be included. Amp functions exactly as it should, no scratchy pots, lights light up when they are supposed to, no hum. I am only selling because we are about to make a cross country move to a smaller place and my wife is pregnant so a downsize is in order. My big Altecs are gone and in their place are a pair of those cute little KEF LS50's. With around 85db sensitivity, the Scott won't be the best pairing. Tubes are Dynaco branded Telefunken 12ax7's in the front end, Mullard E80cf phase splitters, factory matched HH Scott branded Westinghouse 7591's, and GE branded Mullard GZ34 rectifier. General concensus would probably say this is the best of the best tube compliment in all positions. The case was built by your's truly out of solid walnut, wiped down with mineral spirits and finished off with high quality paste wax for a finish that can be maintained forever. The case was designed to allow heat to escape, prolonging the life of the tube and amp. Uses sorbothane feet. I rate the faceplate 7/10, but ratings are subjective so look at the pics. Included with the sale is another good, used GE branded Mullard GZ34 rectifier, a new (in place for 5 min. to test) JJ 5ar4/GZ34, and a pair of hard to find sylvania 7687's that can be rolled into the phase splitter position. Some claim these to be just the thing for the Scott's. I can definitey tell a difference but prefer to E80CF's. Asking price is $1000 plus $40 shipping anywhere in the Continental US. I don't have a ton of posts but have been around a while and have sold several things here with the buyer being very happy with the transaction. The amp will be very well packed. Local pickup and audition welcomed. I am in Logan, UT (northeast corner). I am willing to meet a buyer in SLC. Alos have a Scott Lt-110 stereo tuner for sale, I will list that seperately. NOSValves
Perspective buyers should be aware that NOS Valves rebuilt gear come with a lifetime transferrable limited cost warranty and full free tech support. Basically subsequent owners pay for shipping and a basic $75 bench fee to repair any problems that comes up that can not be handled via phone or email support. This includes parts that have been replaced at no cost of course any original part that has to be replaced is additional cost. Of course tubes are not covered. This is IMHO a great deal on this amplifier. Edited April 5, 2015 by NOSValves
