mungkiman
Not an organ, but what do you expect from only 1 guitar? https://youtu.be/LMPWfHqVj40
Mallette
I am looking, Roger. Obviously a guy with incredible bandwidth to restore such a treasure, then program that paper roll with that arrangement of Queen. AC/DC is fine by me... Mallette
Is that digital or analog? An excellent question that has been cussed and discussed for years, Neil. In the since of being "on" (hole) or "off" (no hole) the player piano is non-quantised time distribution of discrete elements, and so is digital. Other setting for speed and such are quite analog. It's akin to the Jacquard loom and the Hollerith punch card tabulating machine that formed the basis for IBM. One of the great debates rages about certain rolls made by great names, like Scott Joplin, as to whether they were altered after the fact. It is known that some were embellished by "programmers" after the fact to the point no human could have played the piece. The above would be an example. One of known provenance is the "Rhapsody in Blue" played entirely by Gershwin himself. He played the piano part, then went back and added the orchestral accompaniment as a over dub...obviously impossible to play all at once. He performed a number of his works this way. The RIB was also recorded by the LA Philharmonic with Michael Tilson Thomas and the Gershwin roll. http://www.nonesuch.com/albums/gershwin-plays-gershwin-the-piano-rolls The above line is to the Nonesuch recording of the rolls and contains very nice snippets.
