mattSER
Why are gmail addresses suspect? Enlighten me please Most legitimate sellers use the craigslist email relay system. Or, my preferred method, phone number!
jimjimbo
Yes, I understand for the most part, since I use CL occasionally, but then I'm sure there are those folks out there that don't really understand what it's all about, and just go ahead and put their usual mail address in there....I will reply to most, and if I get some kind of wacky response, then that will be the end of it...... opusk2k9
If you respond to their email directly, they know your email address. Check how fast your spam folder grows.

wvu80
Why are gmail addresses suspect? Enlighten me please Most legitimate sellers use the craigslist email relay system. Or, my preferred method, phone number! Agree. ^^^ And Jimbo, for whatever reason Gmail seems to be the official email of scammers everywhere! It just seems like like every time there is a scam going on, they use a gmail account. When I see an @gmail attached to CL listing I am instantly suspicious. I'm even more suspicious now, seeing that they apparently snuck (sneeked?) into mattSER's place and surreptitiously took a picture of his CF-3's! You don't say "text me only" then leave a gmail account. I have a feeling some people are going to Paypal some money to this guy to "hold" the speakers until they can be picked up.
