Grizzog
Does the Klipsch bug ever subside? It seems the addiction is strong. I came across a new-to-me set of fortes that I couldn't pass up. They are damn near mint and came with the original boxes. So now an A/B test had to be done vs my RF-7II. I'll be posting my full review soon, but in the short time I've listened I understand why many people say the fortes are the most balanced Klipsch. They are fantastic. Now I also have the issue of needing to sell one set...or figure out how to keep them both. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
derrickdj1
I can't wait to here you final decision and why. I owned both of these speakers at the same time and the A/B test was long and drawn out. It will be competitive all the way.
pbphoto
Keep both and board-up those doors on the left there. Get your priorities straight!.
jjptkd
This should be good! I would like to point out that the crossovers are pretty old in the forte and weren't made with the highest quality parts to begin with. I know you probably don't want to throw money at them with new ones if you're not sure about keeping them or not but that would even the playing field a bit.

I've done that to a set of KG4s and Quartets. Surprisingly though, these are quite amazing even without that. The Quartets had obvious highs missing with some harshness before the upgrade. These don't really, although I know what the titanium and crossovers could offer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

derrickdj1
My Forte's had the Crites XO and the speaker was just amazing and beautiful. To be honest, I can't say one negative things about them. The overall balance was just perfect.
Honeybadger
Both are great speakers, A/B is a tough call, just going to boil down to preference. Then figure out how to keep them both and swap them out from time to time for a change of scenery.
Fido
I have to agree that the Forte is a great speaker stock but changing to the Crites crossovers and titanium diaphrams was an AMAZING upgrade - the mid bass sounded much better to me and the highs were smooth - midrange clear and accurate - I just added some new cane grills - Forte speakers are classic, retro magic

chriswhotakesphotos
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts! I haven't heard the RF7s myself, but between my three different pairs right now (RP-280F, KP-201 and KG 5.2), I know my ear likes Klipsch's three-way designs the most. mattSER
I had Forte II and original RF-7 at the same time. Super close call, but my ears decided the edge went to the RF-7s. I think if it were Forte I vs RF-7ii, the RF-7ii would probably win(for me) by a sizeable margin.
pzannucci
It will come down to which you prefer, more tangible mids or what some might think are better highs.

Grizzog
Thoughts on the Heritage black style grill on these?
Fido
The black standard grills look awesome on these. I just wanted them to tie into my living room better.

Grizzog
I'll have to do this review fast. I have the 7s for sale. Not because I don't like them, but life requires funds. Guess that just makes the fortes winners by default?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
