Used that stuff between the bands that hold the gas tank on my Cub Cadet tractor.  Worked great.  Have some left since I only used two small strips.  Pricey for sure but it's rock solid and works great.  I just run felt on my Linn.  Shake it off or vacuum it w/my VPI record cleaner.

A friend that worked in a power plant got me a sheet of it and many offcuts of different thickness
