Yea, like the chunky looks and the aluminum's? finish!

Having a separate PSU is always better in audio components too!

not necessarily , if the transformer is excellent encapsulated, a seperate psu is not necessary ( mine Marantz SA11-S3  Elna Silmic II & Master Reference Quartz Clock modded )

Ok, Ok

The toroidal psu in my Cambridge is shielded very well and that integrated has lots of power to spare for surprise crescendos!

But I do have the Flagship Phillips CD 960 in storage

https://hifi-wiki.com/index.php/Philips_CD_960

interesting .....

  • The Philips CD-960 is largely identical in construction to the Marantz CD-94, CD-95, CD-99, CD-12, the Philips LHH-1000, the Micro Seiki CD-M2, CD-M100, CD-M2000X, and the Wadia WT-3200, and ran off the assembly lines of the Marantz manufacturing facilities in Japan along with them.

The CD-960 is the most expensive CD player ever sold by Philips. The massive chassis is made of die-cast zinc, the power supply is more likely to be found in a mid-range integrated amplifier today, and two icons tower above it all - the indestructible Philips CDM1 turntable, also made of die-cast zinc and with glass lenses by Rodenstock, and probably the most musical digital/analogue converter ever, the Philips TDA1541.

and a beauty as well

I hope you only stored it so well that you can find it again, so that you don't have the same problem as I had with the Revox board.

Yes it’s easily accessible anytime I need to find it

I will be selling a lot of my access components progressively over the next year or two

Then decide if I should downsize the main system, as we are planning to move to a lifestyle unit complex

Need to check if it will fit first then decide?

@MicroMara see why I love you so much?  You got your act together!  That darn German engineering and research surfaces once again!  😂  😂  😂

@Full Range me thinks that rig BETTER go w/you.  I just can't picture you wearing cans in your Fedora.  :)

Yes, but lately I´ve seen a lot of YT-links on Discogs that don´t work... A bummer when you just want to see if you like a tune or not.  Then it´s the original YT.

I know that one from back after you turned me onto that "Cowboy BeBop" a couple on it are particularly beautiful!
