elee532
Looking for 2 surround and 2 surround back speakers to use in a surround setup with La Scala II as my front mains. I also just ordered 4 CDT5800s for Atmos ceiling speakers. I listen to a lot of surround music as well as movies. Thanks for any advice! elee532
Forgot to add, must fit on a shelf... or better yet be wall mountable. Edited November 8, 2019 by elee532
Frzninvt
All that horsepower up front and tiny speakers in the back = thunder and lightning. Only thing that might remotely match is KG1's since they are sealed and can be placed on a shelf. Shame you can't make at least Heresy's work back there. rplace
Gotta find a way to make Heresies work.
elee532
Ugh! 😁 I do think I could make those KG-1 fit for my side surrounds. Might be more difficult to fit them as surround back speakers though. Nothing in the current lineup of bookshelves or wall mount that y'all would recommend? 😉
NBPK402
I am running RP160Ms for surrounds, and surround backs as soon as my k402s arrive. I am even going to run the RP 150Ms for height channels.Sent from my SM-T550 using Tapatalk
elee532
I just pulled the trigger on two KG1's for my side surrounds that I found on ebay. If they sound good and I can get them hung on the wall, I think I can make a second pair fit in the back.
rplace
Heresies are not that big once up on the wall. Here is a shot of mine 3
elee532
Wow, impressive! Not sure that would pass the WAF here though. 🤣

elee532
Those KPT-100 look pretty nice! Unfortunately, I don't seem to see them for sale anywhere. Any thoughts on where I might pick up a pair?

They are not going anywhere. Pretty simple to mount. 2x4 on the ceiling, 2x4 on the wall, cut plywood to desired angle on the face leave at 90* for wall/ceiling. Lifting heresy into place, holding and driving lag bolts is the tricky part. I'm sure it would work for any plywood built speaker. Not sure about MDF but I'd bet you could make it work.
Pinball_pw
I use Cornscalas, but I don't think that is what you are looking for. I agree with using full range speakers in the back.
elee532
If I spend much more time in this forum, I'm afraid I'm gonna end up with 4 Klipschorns as my surround speakers. LOL!! There is only 12" of space behind my projector screen. I've so far been satisfied without the center. I'm sure someday I'll feel compelled to add one. JohnA
The undeniably best rear speakers for La Scalas are, .... La Scalas. Four of 'em were GREAT. Next best would be Heresies for surrounds and center. I have and would recommend you mod the Heresy Center to have a similar crossover to your La Scalas. That crossover mod wouldn't hurt in the surrounds, but isn't necessary.
carlthess40
I sold two pairs of the KI-102’s to someone who has the La and he loves them. He said the sound matched up perfectly And they are easy to wall mountSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How do you think it would compare to the KG-1 as a surround speaker?
